The property

Wilders Wood is a pleasant house in Windermere, Cumbria, offering rural views, a pet‑friendly garden and handy off-road parking for three cars, all just a short stroll from the lakeshore.

Step inside to find a straightforward kitchen with everything needed for simple meals, whether you’re preparing breakfasts before venturing out or unwinding with supper after a day exploring the Lake District.

The sitting room provides a homely spot to gather, chatting over plans or settling down with a film, while three inviting bedrooms, a king-size, a ground-floor double with its own TV and en-suite basin and WC, and a twin, ensure the group has space to settle.

A bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC completes the layout.

Windermere itself offers a wealth of ways to fill your days.

Wander the charming streets lined with cafés, bakeries and independent shops, or stroll down to the lakeshore at Bowness Pier to board a Windermere Cruise and admire the scenery from the water.

Visit The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction for family-friendly storytelling, browse the local art at The Old Courthouse Gallery, or wander up to Orrest Head for one of the region’s most iconic viewpoints.

Nearby, Ambleside offers excellent walks from its bustling centre, as well as the atmospheric ruins of Ambleside Roman Fort and the rushing waters of Stock Ghyll Force.

Continue north to Grasmere, known for Dove Cottage, once home to Wordsworth, and the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, perfect for a taste of local tradition.

With lakeside paths, scenic viewpoints and welcoming Lakeland towns all close by, Wilders Wood makes a fine base for days spent exploring the heart of the national park.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.
