  • "A very special place!"

We all had a fantastic time celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Owners let you get on with your holiday but were there if you needed anything. This was the first holiday home where there are not “rules” everywhere, all the owner said to us was “ have fun and enjoy yourselves” The house is beautiful and the hot tub and garden is perfect. Thank you, Brian & Lesley

Hi Guys, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and your wedding anniversary celebrations went so well. Thank you for the fantastic feedback and we hope to see you again in the future for more family occasions. Best wishes Neil and Gaynor. Property Owner

  • "Very clean and comfortable."

Very well equipped. Excellent bedding and towels. Excellent base for walking, waterfalls and caves. The property is in a "terrace" of four similar properties with the owners caravan site opposite. The first rental property that didn't have a local welcome pack or a folder with property information and emergency contact details. A great stay was had by all and wouldn't hesitate to return on a future occasion. Thank you.

Hi there, thank you so much for your lovely comments. You are quite right in pointing out that the property would benefit from a welcome pack and this is something we are working on. We would love to see you again in the future. Kind regards Neil and Gaynor. Property Owner

We were shown around the property and Gaynor told us to see her if we had any needs at all . The property is very well furnished and comfortable with no expense spared We found that it stayed very warm so didn't need to leave the heat on very much , bedroom en suite showers and shared shower room were amazing. The hot tub was very welcome and had plenty of use , luckily we had great weather over our stay which made our time even more enjoyable . We can highly recommend staying here at Orcaber Farmhouse and will be booking another visit early next year hopefully . Thank you Gaynor ands Neil .

It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and furnished and equipped to a very high standard. There was so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity and the views from the house and garden just amazing. We were very lucky with the weather with glorious sunshine every day. We walked locally to the beck and enjoyed days out to Ingleton falls, Malham Cove, Grassinham and Clapham nature trail. We would love to stay again.

Hi there, wow what a lovely review - thank you so much. We really appreciate your feedback and are so pleased you had a lovely stay. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Thanks again, Neil and Gaynor. Property Owner

  • "This cottage was perfect for our family holiday of 8 adults and 2 dogs to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary and 80th birthday."

The high standard of all the fixtures and fittings was appreciated and the open plan living area worked well. The location is stunning. Sunrise over the hill in the morning and sunset from the hot tub in the evening. Outside maintenance excellent. Instructions for appliances would have been welcome and a second hair drier.

Hi there, thank you very much for your great feedback. We are glad you liked the property and location and will certainly take on board your comments. There are instructions for the appliances in one of the drawers but maybe it should have been pointed out where they are, a useful point for future visits! Many thanks Neil and Gaynor. • "My family and I had a multi-generational holiday in this stunning holiday property."

One of our group is disabled, and the ground floor bedroom with its en suite was ideal. We had two dogs with us, and much appreciated the enclosed garden to let the dogs out without having to lead them up and take them for a toilet break in the early morning. The dog exercise facilities were superb - there was an enclosed dog field and a running circuit - they had a great time chasing the ball into the stream, and longer walks were available. The hot tub was fabulous - clean, bubbly, relaxing - terrific at night, with its lighting, and great during the day, after a day's walking or sight seeing. The kitchen facilities were great - everything you need, and the nearby supermarket, Booths, provided food of M&S standard, for home cooking. Wi fi was great, the smart televisions had a range of streaming channels, including Netflix. The only suggestion I have for improvement is for the owner to build a swimming pool - that would be the icing on the cake!

Wow, what a fantastic review!. Thank you so much for your positive comments it makes it all worth while when we get such lovely feedback. We are so pleased that all the family had a fantastic stay and also the dogs too!!. Im not sure about the swimming pool, maybe the hot tub will have to do for now!. We hope you will come again and visit us in the future. Thanks again, Neil and Gaynor. Property Owner

The cottage was amazing great beds and bedding, great facilities and so much for the kids to do in the private garden areas and the grounds. The kids loved the little river catching fish and crayfish. The hosts could not have been better very welcoming, informative with easy access and loads of parking. The surrounding area is amazing with the Yorkshire 3 peaks, legs still recovering. Great village pub in Austwick nearby called the Gamecock food was top class. Pretty town called Settle with loads of shops and food places. We will most definitely be booking this again.

  • "Orcaber Farmhouse is an excellent property and has been fitted out to an extremely high standard."

It is large, with 4 bedrooms, again, all of which are to an extremely high standard. The underfloor heating ensures that the house always feels snug, despite it's size and regardless of the external elements. The outside Jacuzzi is very warm and relaxing, a nice touch to the external space. The owners of the property were very friendly and accommodating, providing plenty of advice on the surrounding area and amenities. It is only one mile from Austwick village, where the Game Cock public house provides extremely good food and a very warm and friendly service. It is well situated for some really stunning walks nearby, Ingleton Waterfall Trail being one of my favourites. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay

Thank you very much for your lovely review . We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and found everything up to spec. Ingleton waterfalls are amazing, there are alot of interesting places to visit in our area, we are very lucky that way. We hope to see you back again another time in the future. • "We ere a family group having taken three cars, son in law arrived first and was greeted by owner and she was very nice, my daughter arrived later with our granddaughter who has special needs, and we arrived by 10 pm."

I had booked the house and thought at least the owner could have come to meet me, we did not even have a small carton of milk or anything to start us off as we could have chosen many places that at least have some sort of welcome pack, just as well we came prepared. We were told nothing about the property as to workings etc we had hot towel rails the first morning but after that they were cold, the hot tub had no switch to turn off, we did not know if it was automatic, I did not use it but my granddaughter loved it, her mum took her in one evening, the weather was horrendous but to keep her happy they went in, there was a clip to hold the lid together but it was broken and that night there was a blustery wind the cover was blown open and we did not notice as it was around the side of the property, I was going out with my dogs to be greeted by a very rude man, don’t know who he was moaning about the hot tub which I had no clue about. Night before leaving my son in law politely asked if we could charge my car as the local charger did not work and he was told he had already used too much electricity etc the owner was very rude and turned his back, my son in law tried to explain that he had closed the hot tub, the gale we had that night must have blown open the top of the hot tub, why would he leave it open deliberately? He is very careful. On leaving my daughter took off her bedding and I commented that she should not take off pillow protectors she told me the bed was not made up no duvet cover or pillowcases, they had decided to give my granddaughter the bedroom with the en-suite as she has special needs but I did not know the bedroom they were in was not made up or I would have questioned the owners as they knew there were six of us. The house is lovely and well furnished and has most things you need. Beds are comfortable and towels provided are huge and lovely and soft. There could have been hooks on the bathroom doors that would be handy for dressing gown etc, no toilet roll holders and no grab rails in showers, showers were good if you wanted an overhead drench shower but handheld one should really have a swivel holder so that you could aim water without having to hold the shower head, my disabled husband had great difficulty with this, there could have been a shower seat, we brought our own. There was liquid soap in bathrooms, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cloths, no coffee machine but a cafetière was provided. On reading the listing I imagined a lovely walk along the beck with a proper pathway hoping that my disabled husband could use his mobility scooter but you are tramping through a field dodging sheep poo and as we had so much rain we were just walking in mud. This is not a place for children as nothing to do not even a swing park. North Yorkshire villages and towns are beautiful but this is a place for serious hill walkers. The rude owner should be ashamed of himself as the incident with the hot tub was not deliberate as we as a family who respect other peoples property.

Hi there, i would like to clear up a few issues on the negative points of your review. Firstly the first guests to arrive @ the property were greeted by myself and i explained about the property, wifi heating etc and also informed the guests where we lived (2 doors away)and if there was any problems whatsoever not to hesitate to come and seek us out. To say that we should have greeted you personally as you were the one that booked it would have been very difficult as we obviously dont know which guests are who, we normally see the first guests in and then they inform the other guests as they arrive the basic workings of the property. The towel rails had only gone off because you must have turned the thermostats down. The heating is on 24/7 as it runs off a biomas boiler and the thermostats are used to control it, if they are turned right down/off then the towel rails wouldn't work. We get in touch with the customers a couple of days before arrival and ask them how they would like the beds making up, which i did and was informed that you would like 2 doubles and a twin room making up which is what i did so i was rather upset that you changed your mind and decided to use the other double room that wasn't made up as discussed as it is unhygienic to sleep in unmade beds and what is more annoying if you had said you had changed your mind that would have been fine and i would have just made the bed up for you. In the same conversation we had about how you would like the beds you also asked if the property had a shower seat as your husband is disabled, i apologised and said no im sorry it doesn't in which you replied thats fine i will bring our own so you already knew in advance we didn't provide a shower seat. The hot tub lid was left off all night, there is no way the wind could have blown it open they are permanently fixed and counter lever open. The walk along the beck has not got a tarmac footpath next to it, which is what you seemed to expect, it is in the countryside and unfortunately sheep poo happens! We dont have a swing park on the property however there are two lovely play parks nearby in the close vicinity, the closest is is 1 mile away and the other one is 2 miles away. I cant understand why you have said that my husband was rude to you and turned his back on the guest who came to the door to ask if he could charge his car, i was there and that was just not the case. We are not allowed legally to give permission for customers to charge their vehicles, it is a huge health and safety risk to charge vehicles from an domestic plug socket through an open window. We did inform the man where the nearest charging points are. We normally get excellent feedback and it is really demoralizing to read your negative points i can only assume it is because you weren't allowed to charge your car. Kind regards Neil and Gaynor. • "A beautiful, well appointed house."

Beds were really comfortable and the furnishings were all good quality. Sited in a great location on the farm and easy access to surrounding sites The only thing that I found slightly disappointing was the size of the oven and number of bigger saucepans. As it is a house for 8 it was tricky to cook roast dinner for this number. Otherwise everything else was really good and we had a lovely stay

It had everything you could need while there, very spacious and clean. We loved the open plan aspect downstairs as very sociable when away with a group. Lovely secure garden for the dogs, just to note the wall is low, about waist height, so great for small/medium dogs or ones you know will not jump it. We had medium size dogs who were perfectly safe in there. Fab size hot tub with great views of the sunset whilst sat in it. Very comfy beds. Owners were great and came to greet us when we arrived and were on hand if we needed anything. Also very handy having the secure dog field opposite the house for the dogs to have a good run around in. We couldn't fault our stay and would definitely return. We visited Ingleborough nature trail and caves which is just down the road from the house which was a great place to take the dogs.

My friends and I had a great couple nights here and we enjoyed every moment. I appreciate the owner calling me in advance to ask how I would like the beds to be set out as I believe they can separate them if families were wanting to stay. Shops are about a 10 minute drive away in case anyone is needing any essentials items. Hot tub was great and was able to fit 8 people in. I would request the owner to leave the temperature control to the people staying as we found it a bit milder than to our liking. However, this is a minor complaint and would not deter me from staying again!
