  • "(Before you read this, please note that we also run a B&B (on air), so we have plenty of experience of being 5 star hosting) Neil and Gaynor were very welcoming (but totally left us alone and were exceptionally respectful of our privacy)."

The retreat was 5* clean! It is an amazingly spacious little cottage (on a working farm) but very comfortable, big 'smart' TV's in both the lounge and bedroom. A wonderful, very hi-spec shower room (There is a HUGE copper bath in the corner of the very large bedroom (but we didn't use it). Copious amounts of very hot water on demand, full wi-fi and a huge bed. We thought it was exceptional value for money and very comfortable. Very hi-end kitchen appliances (washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, good oven and induction hob). If we had one small recommendation, we would have liked a few more glasses, utensils (tongs), cutlery and crockery as every day, we ran out and had to wash up. We would happily return. Many thanks.

Hi Guys, thank you so much for your positive feedback. We are really pleased you found everything up to spec and enjoyed our little retreat especially as you are in the business yourselves and have such high standards. We will definitely look into supplying some more crockery etc. By the way the marmalade is delicious thanks very much, hope to see you both again soon, Neil and Gaynor. Property Owner

Comfortable bed and relaxing bath. Ideal place if you want peace and quiet and a place to just chill. The log fire was cosy and so simple to use, Just on the outskirts of the trough of Bowland and Yorkshire dales, nothing negative to say about the place, we're thinking of booking again in the very near future, we've been to lots of places to stay and orcaber farm retreat is definitely in our top 3. It's a 10/10 from me.

Cottage was really dusty and shower room toilet had dried urine all around base of toilet and in the floor grout. Needs decorating now as really shabby. This was our third visit to this property and unfortunately will be the last.

Hi there Mrs Johnson, we are so sorry that you had a disappointing stay on your 3rd visit to our property. The wooden stables have now been demolished, the sand paddock re done and the area landscaped. The property has been fully decorated, we pride ourselves on our housekeeping and can only apologise that you found it wasn't up to its usual high standard. We really hope you reconsider and come back to stay with us again, where hopefully you will have a great time as previous visits. Property Owner

We were greeted on arrival by Gaynor and Neil who showed us round and who were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. It showed that this was the first time the cottage had been let out for holidays, as it was immaculate. The cottage had been decorated to a very high standard and the appliances were top rate. There was everything we could possibly need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage was warm and cosy, the wood burner helped with this aspect even though we didn't really need it as the weather was kind to us. I could imagine in the winter months the burner would not disappoint, the heat it generated was immense. We had a lovely comfortable sofa and huge tv for total relaxation. The king size bed with top quality bedding all helped to aid a restful night sleep as it was so comfortable. My husband has mobility problems so we found the wet room shower to be most accommodating, as it was powerful and roomy. The lovely deep bath in the bedroom is nice for those able to have a nice soak before bed. The cottage is situated down a quiet road, with ample off road parking. Neil also provided us with garden furniture during our stay to provide us with a nice place to sit out in the garden while the weather was fine. There are lots of things to do, whether visiting the many lovely villages, markets or walking. I would highly recommend this cottage as a superb base to spend your holiday, you will not be disappointed as our hosts go that little bit further than most to make sure "it's home from home or better".
