  • "We had a great holiday, the house was beautiful and had all, and more, of the amenities that we required."

The host arranged parking for us at the property, so there was no problems when we arrived. The house was very clean and well maintained, which is very important to us. The house is on the outskirts of the town, but there is a bus service every 15 minutes, passing the front door if required. We did a lot of hiking during the holiday, there are plenty of walks to choose from. Thanks again for a great holiday. Vince / Sheila

  • "Property has been renovated to a high standard however what lets it down is the finishing touches."

There are no blinds except in kitchen and the curtains are paper thin so let the early morning sun through. The kitchen is high quality but no space for you to store your provisions and lacking basic utensils for cooking eg wooden spoons, chopping boards. The outdoor space needs a garden table and chairs so you can enjoy the warm weather. Hot tub was nice addition but unable to use for first 24 hours as not to temperature, even then it was just a touch too cool but not enough to stop us using it. The TV needed a PIN to watch shows over PG rating (even The Simpsons) but the owner didn’t know it so sent us instructions on how to reset it (which he should have done) but this made things worse as the account holder needed to call up. We had no TV until late next day, which when you have kids is problematic. Owner was slow to respond to contact made, before we arrived I enquired to confirm there was a microwave as a previous guest had noted there wasn’t one. He never responded. Mattresses were budget and very firm so uncomfortable, and the duvets were cheap microfibre 13.5 tog which you don’t need in summer. Bedding was in abundance but unfortunately very, very poor quality and condition and need replacing immediately, we ended up buying our own. The main bathroom shower floods badly so we only used small en-suite one. The bins (outside) were full when we arrived with no idea when collections were made so I would recommend advising future guests. I hope the feedback is taken in the spirit it is meant - constructive. The actual building and renovation has clearly been well restored but charity shop furniture in places and the negatives listed, prevent a five star review.

  • "We had lovely girly time in the property."

The house was brilliant with everything we needed and more. The only things it lacked was a table in the back garden and hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels after showering. Apart from this we couldn't fault it.

Beds were comfy, and the Hot tub was great fun. The only thing we would suggest is a TV in the games room and a microwave.

  • "What a stunning place."

Just everything you need. It's a place I would say it's a must to go and stay there. Simon the owner was always on hand for any questions. There is a pub next door and you need to go there as well the food was the best I've ever had. I will defiantly go again. So piece full. Gillian

  • "163 Manchester road did not disappoint!"

It is exactly like the pictures and more. The hot tub and games room were a hit with our three boys. The house was very clean and comfortable, with everything you need for a weeks break. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. We visited Cleveleys, Southport, Blackpool and Leyland. The house itself has no car parking facilities and the road is quite busy, however we were always able to park both cars in the road beside the house. The pub beside the house was great for drinks and food. The food was fab and great value for money. The staff were very welcoming. Communication with the owner was good, any questions were answered and addressed.
