  • "A wonderful cottage, with everything you needed, for a relaxing holiday."

In a charming village with lots of walks. The owner's were very helpful, and Millie, their dog was a delight. We were very fortunate with the weather in December. Would definitely recommend this cottage. One of the best we've used since booking with Sykes.

  • "We have just returned from a week in Wheelwrights Cottage and we had a fantastic time."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, very well furnished and a wonderful place to relax. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well! The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked some delicious local foods. The village itself is quiet and very pretty with a couple of lovely shops and a new Nisa store. We ate out at the Woodhouse Arms a couple of times and also had a Keralan curry at The Leaf in Grantham - we highly recommend both.

  • "A wonderful cottage of a very high standard with every comfort, making it the perfect stay."

For us it exceeded our expectations by being a larger size cottage with an added sun room, having a separate utility room (useful for storing our cycling equipment) and with the bonus of a second toilet in the utility room. The location is perfect with the owner's house fronting the High street and the cottage set back in the grounds away from the road, giving a feeling of being in the countryside but with the convenience of a local shop, 2 public houses and 2 coffee shops within easy walking distance. It is a pretty village and there are plenty of walks and good routes for cycling nearby. There was a handy store for housing our bikes and we were encouraged to wander freely about the extensive well kept garden. Although the cottage has it's own section of garden, we never actually used it as the grounds were so beautiful and peaceful. The hosts were friendly, making us feel at home and giving us good local tips. This is somewhere that we would happily stay again as there was so much to see and do without having to travel too far.

  • "Spacious and well appointed cottage in a charming location."

We could not recommend the cottage highly enough. Rob, Alex and Milly are very welcoming and go the extra mile to make your holiday special. The cottage, garden and swimming pool area are well kept and attractive. Corby Glen has a good quality pub The Wood House Arms which serves good food at reasonable prices. There is a local shop, and two nice coffee shops in the village. There is plenty to do locally with good walks, cycling and places of interest.

  • "We had a great week at Wheelwrights Cottage in this lovely wee village."

The house itself is fantastic, very comfortable and immaculate which is just what you want during a pandemic. Rob and Alex are a delight and were very welcoming, not to mention the gorgeous Millie who kept us company when star gazing by the pool. Grounds are amazing with lots of outdoor spaces to relax and read with a glass of wine, not to mention a swim in the pool. September 2021

  • "27 August - 03 September 2021 Wheelwrights is a lovely cosy cottage, set within the owners grounds."

We were greeted upon our arrival, which was a little later than anticipated due to heavy traffic, by Rob, Alex and the adorable Millie. We were shown to our cottage, and made to feel very welcome from the offset. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The garden was ours to explore and use as we needed. We had a local Co-op, which was less than a 5 minute walk away. A tea room, The March Hare, which was delightful and reasonably priced, along with a pub, The Woodhouse Arms. The staff in both were very hospitable and friendly. All these establishments are within walking distance. Corby Glen has good access to road networks, with Stamford, Rutland Water, Barnsdale and Lincoln within easy reach. There are of course many other places of interest. Our week went over far too quickly and we were sad to leave. Rob, Alex and the adorable Millie saw us off. In fact all 3 were very friendly during our stay. Millie stole my heart! Thank you for a brilliant stay. We would not hesitate to recommend Wheelwrights Cottage.

It is set in very large gardens, with a pool that guests can use. Everything was spotless, and facilities were to a high standard. The owners Rob, and Alex were charming and helpful, and we had a very enjoyable stay.
