  • "We had a lovely stay at the Paddock."

The bungalow was so comfortable, cosy and spacious. The lounge with an amazing open fire has lovely views over the countryside. The crossroads inn had just reopened which was a bonus and had been refurbished to a high standard. We enjoyed going to the coast with our 2 dogs and even used the local bus service on the corner to go into Lincoln. We would highly recommend The Paddock for a holiday. To make it perfect an upgrade on the mattresses in the twin room would be fantastic. Thank you both for the beautiful cake and we look forward to returning again soon. Elaine and Mike

  • "This is a five star property which has everything you could wish for to make for a lovely break."

The bungalow is very well appointed and located within easy driving distance of both Lincoln and The Wolds. A most delicious Victoria Sandwich cake had been left out for us on arrival together with milk/ tea and coffee to start us off. Both bedrooms had en-suite facilities which included walk in showers, perfect for the older generation! The rooms are spacious and warm and very well furnished. We loved our time there and would have no hesitation in booking it again and recommending it to others.

The Paddock is beautifully furnished and decorated, a real home from home, with everything you can possibly need and very spacious. The gardens are well kept and well furnished You get a homely and welcoming feel as soon as you step through the door. The home made cake, which was delicious adds a personal touch. We will definitely return. The Paddock is a credit to the owner

Such a lovely review Anita, thank you! My husband and I really appreciated the card you left for us, so thank you for that too. We look forward to you hopefully booking The Paddock again. You left everything lovely and clean and tidy which makes our job so much easier! Property Owner

We all really enjoyed ourselves, including Poppy the dog. It was very comfortable and spacious, well equipped with absolutely loads of storage space and also parking space. Great that it was dog friendly too. The homemade Victoria Sponge was delicious and we really appreciated the open fire. This was without doubt the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and would love to come again some time. Many Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and for being so helpful when we called Jillian, Ian, David and Poppy

Lovely home made drizzle cake awaiting for us thank you . . Shower in twin room kept going on and off . We had a few days enjoyable stay . Only one other thing is took a long time to find key safe , and no sign posting for the property took us a while to find it.

Hello Sharon, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Paddock and also enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake! Thanks for pointing out the shower issue, it has now been checked and all seems to be working perfectly. Apologies that you found The Paddock and key safe difficult to find, I appreciate that the instructions are quite detailed and can become a little confusing, but when followed to the letter all is usually clear. • "Very much enjoyed our stay at The Paddock."

Lovely cake greeted us on arrival and we enjoyed cooking in the very well equipped kitchen: I especially liked the range style cooker. Much information on the local area is available, including a wide range of OS maps: even one that centres on The Paddock. Huge parking area at the front with under cover parking for two cars and a handy bus stop a short walk away near the village shop. Unfortunately the village pub has closed but The Adam & Eve at nearby Wragby is very popular for food. A trip to Lincoln is a must from the Park & Ride at Waitrose. A most impressive cathedral and an interesting city with a Walk & Ride bus service circulating to save the killer climb up Steep Hill! We can also recommend a trip to Woodhall Spa for a visit to the quirky Kinema in the Woods: handy for a wet day. Thank you to Pam, the owner, for friendly emails and for forgiving us a broken glass.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review Hilary. I am so pleased you have had such a good time at The Paddock and the surrounding area. Thank you also for the wonderful condition you left the bungalow, so clean and tidy! And of course I forgive you a broken glass!! Property Owner

  • "We loved the house, most unusual and very commodious."

A little bit dark and reading light in the sitting room was needed. The general lighting gave a very pleasing effect, however. Direction and signage to the house was poor. The vast double bed needs to be highlighted in the details as being super-king size (most welcome) but the pillows could be greatly improved, all rather hard and non-supportive. Our contact with the owners over one or two small queries was most pleasantly dealt with. Some instruction over use of the TV would have been appreciated. The kitchen was very well provided for, so many cupboards we almost forget where we'd put things. Brilliant for dog walks immediately from the house. All in all, The Paddock is one of the best houses we have ever stayed in and very happy to return again. The cake was delicious and perfect in every way!!! The tourist information in the house was extremely comprehensive with a lovely collection of OS maps including one centred on The Paddock. Thank you to the Carrs. Richard & Bridget

Thank you Richard and Bridget for your very positive feedback. It was really lovely to be able to chat with you both. Duly noted regarding the pillows, I will seek out replacements. Regarding signage, I'm not sure I can put a sign out on the main road as that sort of thing can be a bone of contention with the local council! I will look into it. Property Owner

We did have a problem with the small gates at the back of the property as they had some wooden bars missing and even a medium dog could get through easily There was a superb Victoria Sponge waiting for us. We will definately come again. Many thanks for a wonderful break despite the dreadful weather. We were warm and cosy.

  • "We were very comfortable in this spacious and well equipped bungalow."

Our only issues were with working some of the appliances. We scratched our heads when using the cooker, which was of a good quality but not the easiest to operate. However, the owner was very helpful when we did need to contact her with queries. We would be happy to book again as it is a lovely property in such a quiet setting with easy access to surrounding places of interest.

Hello Gillian, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would consider booking with us again. You certainly hit the jackpot with the weather! I apologise for the cooker being complicated, as with most things these days, I don't think it was made with the end user in mind!! I'm hoping the manuals provided helped a little! Property Owner

  • "Great stay."

Property could do with a bit of extra signage at the end of the lane to help find it. Sadly we thought the twin beds/mattresses could do with an upgrade, slightly uncomfortable for adults, apart from that great accommodation.

  • "We spent a lovely week away at the paddock."

Very clean, and it had everything we needed for a week break. The paddock has so much character and the fire place made it feel very cosy on a night. Travel cot and high chair was up ready for our little one when we got there, which was really helpful and saved us taking our own. Also, the cake Pam left us on arrival went down a treat, thank you! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including the dog. He loved the big lawn, and spent most of his time outside. And there is some great routes to walk around the area. Lots to do in the area. I would definitely recommend Rand Park farm to anyone with young children, there’s so much to do there, we spent a full day there! I would also recommend Adam and Eve pub in Wragby, 5 min drive away and the food is lovely. Only downfall in East Barkwith is the local pub is only open thurs/Fri/sat but I suppose that is expected with it been such a remote area. So we didn’t end up to visiting, but Adam and Eve is only a short drive away. Also, side note: CHECK WARDROBES BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I was stupid enough to leave my clothes in the wardrobe, but thankfully Pam was very quick to reply and send them back to me :) Overall a great stay at The Paddock and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a little break away in the countryside :) Thank you!

Wow, thanks for your great review Rebecca. Really pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Paddock, and it was no trouble reuniting you with your clothes!!I I agree about the village pub, it used to open every day but recently reduced its opening times to just a few days later on in the week - such a pity! But The Adam & Eve is excellent. All the best, Pam Property Owner

The cottage is very large, plenty of room for everyone. The underfloor heating was a joy, even it being March there was no need to light the open fire. There is no problem with parking, a large gravel area, with 2 car ports, would be ample for a dozen cars. In the summer months the cottage would be even better due to the large patio and grass areas all round the cottage with outdoor lighting, superb. Highly recommended.
