  • "This was the perfect location for our family reunion."

I was visiting my Mum, who lives walking distance from Acer cottage, with my extended family from Florida. We had plenty of space and privacy. The rooms are very generous in size. There are enough kitchen utensils and cookware to support a large group. There were 14 of us at one point gathering for food and up to 8 actually staying at the house. Not included in this number was a baby and a toddler. The provision for a baby gate at the top and bottom of the stairs was great for this purpose. We had access to a Nespresso machine and Breville coffee machine. We did not use these in preference for a regular coffee maker that I borrowed from Mum. It was easy to adjust the heat. It got very hot in the bedrooms due to the sunny days. There is an option to use “summer/lightweight” comforters, which was needed. The Trash and recycling pick up can be confusing, so make sure you read information from the manual. We put out the cardboard on the assigned day, but it didn’t get picked up!! The lines were fresh and clean. The only disappointment was in the general cleanliness of the house and upkeep of the grounds. It appears that the grounds were once a lovely paradise area. Now there is a lot of overgrown bushes, and a generally unkempt look. Some bushes were blocking the entrance pathways. My husband found a tool and cut down some, so that we could walk the path without getting snagged. The house itself had crumbs on the floors, food in the pantry and some stained carpeting. It looked like it may have been cleaned after a recent guest and then left for an extended period. All in all I would rent again and the extended family loved the space and ability to hang out together in a house that accommodate.

  • "Really nice place."

Loads of rooms and toilets. Beautiful garden with fish pond. BBQ machine also available. Sometimes had problems with hot water. Needs some attention. Needs back of toilet rolls and kitchen towel roll as well for long stays. Close to the road so one of the room vibrates when a truck passes by. Overall good value for money.

  • "Property is on a busy road with persistent traffic noise in what is a suburb of Boston ,not a village setting."

Not a problem for some but it would have been helpful to know. Refuse was a problem Refuse bin was overflowing when we arrived and obviously hadn't been emptied for weeks .We put out recycling bin and refuse in hope it would be emptied but in the end we left bin by entrance and put our domestic refuse in alternative bin .We did email owner but no response. Property was spacious and comfortable but several minor repairs needed Kitchen cupboard door off hinges as an example. Kitchen grill and bin both needed cleaning on arrival .
