  • "Spacious and comfortable accommodation, very well equipped."

The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The decor and furniture is rather dated, but that didn’t detract from our really enjoyable experience and we would stay there again. It was lovely to have the garden, hot tub and tennis court which we used every day. The house is in a prime location and the village is lovely, with plenty of pubs serving good food. There is lots to see and do in the local area and there are some nice walks from the house. The house owner, Adrian is friendly and helpful.

  • "The cottage is in a superb location close to the Three Tuns and Castle pubs in Bishop's Castle."

There is a large window with a partial view of Long Mynd which was nice to stare at. Furnishings are ok if a little dated but beds are comfortable and the owner is friendly and helpful. He was very apologetic that the dishwasher broke down on the third day of our stay but that shouldn't be a problem for anyone else as he was going to replace it! Just unlucky for us! The whole area is superb for walking and touring round and we may well return!

  • "Our stay was great , just what was needed."

The advert was what was expected and delivered, all the facilities were there just a little dated, the shower cubicles had alittle mould and the hot tub was a bit old and rickety but still did most of the jobs well and was a good temperature, hard work to take the cover on and off. But all and all a nice couple of nights stay.

  • "Cottage with great view to Long Mynd from the large window in the main room."

Good sized accommodation for four with all facilities including hot tub in the garden. Only a hundred yards or so from the High Street including the excellent Castle hotel, Three Tuns pub/brewery and the take away. It was my third holiday in or by Bishop's Castle - an historic small town in the wonderful Shropshire Hills. A deeply rural and scenic area. Easy also for mid-Wales. Friendly owner of the property. A great corner of this fascinating town.

My wife and I have stayed here 4 times and it's never disappointed. There's pubs and restaurants/ takeaways within a couple of minutes walking distance or you can use the fully equipped kitchen to cook whatever you want. We like to put something in the oven the go and chill in the hot tub whilst its cooking. I honestly couldn't find a fault on any of ours stays

Adrian, the owner was lovely and made us feel so welcome. It had everything you needed- salt, pepper, slow cooker, toastie maker, washing up liquid, games and jigsaws. I've been to other lodges and never had the amount of equipment or little extras that this place had. We had the sun loungers out in the garden, played tennis on the tennis courts and enjoyed the hot tub. The area around was a bit hilly but was fine to us. There's also a big childrens park at the bottom of the hill if it's a dry day. We loved our stay here! Well done Adrian!

Accommodation was perfect for our long weekend away with our 8 month old baby. High chair and travel cot available at the cottage. Adrian recommended a walk up Bury Ditches which was a lovely walk we even managed to take the pram up there, stunning views once we reached the top. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "The cottage is very well maintained and clean."

The bedrooms are of a good size, both en suite with showers. The garden is small but enclosed and includes a hot tub which is quite big. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we had a lovely week visiting the local sites of interest. Bishops Castle is an old quaint village with a good supply of shops. But beware it is very hilly and quite a climb from the cottage to the top of the village. However persevere and it will be worth it. The Three Tuns is worth a visit for food and the brewery next door which provides the ale!
