  • "Wasn’t allowed to part outside property evan though there was plenty of room and not once in the whole week was the road full."

Didn’t like my dog barking evan though there was other dogs in the street barking and kids screaming outside apparently it’s a ‘quiet street’ it’s definitely not quite. Walks very think can hear next door walking up stairs, the tv and opening and closing cupboards. Curtains do not fit windows properly and are very thin letting a lot of light in, therefore very light in mornings. Gaps in curtains. House over the road leaves a light on all night which then shines through because the curtains are so think. Bed very uncomfortable and noisy when trying to switch positions. Contacted owner while I was there and evan thought I was assured he would ring me back he didn’t. Shower was nice and hot and powerful but cubical very small. There was nowhere to stand so you’re not standing in the water and elbows kept knocking the sides when trying to wash hair. Very disappointed, definitely not worth the money.

  • "Cottage location was very good, just a short walk to centre of town!"

Access down a very narrow lane, with cars parked and large dustbins lined up!! Reversing out a challenge! Only booked for 2 nights, on arrival had to wait till 5pm to enter and required to leave by 10am! Paid very high price for this!! One thing I feel I must mention which may be helpful to others is the staircase is steep and challenging for anyone with mobility issues! The bathroom is down stairs so if you need to get up in the night the lack of a landing at the top of the stairs could be dangerous! you literally step out of the bedroom on to staircase and handrail starts a step down from there! when it gets dark at night its very dark, no light at all! a night light would be advisable that could be left on!

  • "Perfect for the two of us and the dog."

Great location for the local amenities. Great location for walks. Parking at the long stay is sensible and wasn't an inconvenience. In fact the parking pass was a real bonus.

  • "The car park pass was used every day on our trips out , information is supplied on where the pass can be used ,overnight parking is only available in the long stay car park which is past the suzuki garage by the rugby club, approx 6mins walk The cottage itself had everything we needed, the enclosed garden is secure so my lab/ springer cross couldn't get out , short cut to the supermarket from the back garden , also this is the best place to unpack/ pack as the road infront of the cottage is very narrow and requires reversing down The neighbour Val , who is the local representative, was extremely helpful."

All the pubs are dog friendly, even supplying blankets and treats, check out "the stag" on Facebook I have no problem in recommending this small cottage to anyone and we will be rebooking Many thanks Keith and Cal

  • "Accurate description and very comfortable."

Ideally placed to the town. The inclusion of an annual car pass is extremely useful as it can be used in other selected car parks in the area. Plenty of cutlery but an addition of a knife sharpener would be advantageous. This is the case for all cottages we stay in.

  • "We had a lovely stay in the cottage."

Perfectly thought out for a self catering stay, we would recommend and stay again. Would suggest the owners getting placemats for the table as we were worried about marking it and remember to bring your own towels as the cottage doesn't provide, it does say that in the listing but we forgot! Very handy gate in the back garden leading to a cut through to the co-op. We parked behind the back gate to load our bags as parking at the front is a tight one way road. Owner kindly provides a parking permit for the long stay car park too if you struggle to find a spot any closer. Dolgellau is wonderful and very dog friendly, so many great pubs, restaurants and cafes in a beautiful town with the stunning walks and adventures of snowdonia on your doorstep!

  • "Cottage lacked any wardrobes to hang some clothes."

Street is very narrow and no room to park although owner does provide parking permit for long stay car park. Stay marred by building work being carried out opposite. Street is very untidy with lots of bins of rubbish near exit onto main road. Cottage was fine for 2 with good facilities - kitchen, TV, shower etc

  • "Spotlessly clean and comfortable holiday accommodation."

We would have liked table place mats and coasters, as we were worried about making marks on the dining table. Other than that, everything was fine. As for the area, the MawdachTtrail is a must - either to cycle or walk to Barmouth or Fairbourne, and there are innumerable hikes for all levels nearby.

  • "Excellent cottage for 2 people and a small dog."

Might be a bit small for 4 adults. Great quiet location and very convenient parking permit. Everything clean and tidy. Thanks, Val! Good WiFi and TV, although I think I would sacrifice the 2 TVs upstairs for more storage. Met the owner, very nice knowledgeable bloke, born and raised in the area. He's done a great renovation. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "Loved our holiday."

Really nice town but parking a little tricky. The parking permit was extremely useful as it was tricky to park near the house. However this didn’t spoil our time there. Very friendly neighbours and the house was smell but perfect for two single people and my dog. Amazing pert of the country. Stunning views and walks. Plenty of restaurants.

  • "House was well equipped (especially kitchen)."

Would have benefited from some instructions on how to put the central heating on (it was quite chilly in the evenings). And the electric fire didn't work. The only downside (and nothing to do with the accommodation) was noisy neighbours sitting out in the street till gone midnight on our first two nights there.

  • "It was a nice cottage and a good location."

Parking was very limited at the property so the parking permit was a great addition. Just a couple of suggestions. The windows didn't seem to shut tightly so there was quite a draft, coming to winter months this may be more of a problem. It might also be worth considering some curtains or blinds in the kitchen and on the front door.

Dolgellau is full of beautiful historic buildings and there are plenty of options for eating out. I would definitely come to this area again as we didn’t have time to do everything in a week. The only negative is the bed squeaks every time you move in it-suggest the screws need tightening!

  • "Really pleasantly presented cottage in an ideal location to enjoy cycling the traffic free trail, Dolgellau to Barmouth and the nearby Mecca for bikey off roaders, Coed de Brenin."

Freshly refurbished, clean and bright with everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare modest meals, good central heating, exceptionally comfortable beds with spotlessly clean linen and towels provided. We were warned, there is no on or off street car parking, simply because this is a tiny cottage in a tiny street! We were able to park briefly in the next street to offload and pack up the car, but then used the Long Stay car park in the town, at £7.50 for 24 hours, each day. We were there over a bank holiday, but the reuse there would be a good choice of nearby shops etc. We ourselves have provided self catering accommodation in Bath and know from experience how much effort goes into providing all this, so thank you very much, well done!
