  • "Beautifully situated, very comfortable, lovely house."

It could have been even better with a bit more equipment in the kitchen, for example soup / pasta bowls, serving bowls/ dishes, baking trays. We bought a chef's knife and sharpener, and we sharpened the only knife in the kitchen as best we could. There was a loose connection on the oven which meant that it turned itself off and we had to very gently adjust the selector dial to keep it on. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to friends. The walking from the house is absolutely wonderful

  • "Detached house in a beautiful location."

Lovely and quiet. Well equipped, Bed very comfortable. Some nice walks. The road getting up to the house is a bit tricky, but you soon get used to it

Glad you enjoyed your stay x Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic second stay at Ty Glan Yr Afon and hope to come again!"

This property is beautiful and the surroundings make it even more so. We love the homely feel. The bedrooms are all beautiful and comfortable. Love the big kitchen too and the window seats are perfect. This was an amazing holiday and particularly great for our children to have an adventure simply by being located where it is! Diolch yn fawr iawn am popeth - a roedd y coed tan ychwanegol hefyd yn gret! Just for the owners to note - we couldn't find a dustpan (only the brush) so it was hard to sweep up, and one of the oven's door doesn't close (also noted by a previous reviewer) - tiny things though which didn't really bother us. Diolch yn fawr eto ac yn gobeithio dod nol blwyddyn nesaf :)

We apologise for the oven, it does work but the doors are slightly uneven. There is a brand new oven and worktops going in this month as we want everything to be perfect for your stay. Hope you return! x Property Owner

  • "Had an amazing week, even storm Darragh didn't dampen our enthusiasm for the place."

The cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The setting was stunning with so many walks to chose from. This is by far the best place we have stayed. The only down side was having to leave we could have stayed forever.

So glad you enjoyed Ty Glan Afon! It's a nice cosy cottage to hunker down in a storm! Property Owner

  • "A lovely cosy cottage, set in a beautiful area."

Well worth the drive up the steep, narrow road! Some lovely varying views from the terraced garden. The garden isn't enclosed at the driveway, but it's a really good size, and a quiet area. The bed was so comfortable! Perfect after a day's walking, (and there's plenty of local trails to choose from). Lovely and warm, plenty of hot water, and logs for the fire. Great view of the night sky from the driveway too! We loved the area, and loved our stay at the cottage!

  • "We had a fabulous week here, the farmhouse was very cosy, we couldn't fault it, the bed was the most comfortable that we had slept in and with the sound of the river in such beautiful surroundings with in the farmland we will be booking this again for sure."

    Many thanks to the hosts

  • "A small under the worktop fridge does not provide enough space to store food for 5 people especially when on arrival on opening the fridge door to find all the shelves in the door absent."

This meant we could not store anything such as milk or wine in an upright position once opened. We spoke to the owner about this but he just said he didn't know about it as his sister dealt with the cottage .Also, as noted by a previous guest the oven cannot get to temperature as the door will not close properly. There is a very steep hair pin bend when leaving the main road to get to the cottage which is a bit scary, thankfully we never met a car coming the other way. The cottage is in a lovely setting and very peaceful and quiet with some great walks straight from the door. We had good weather and were able to use the many seating areas surrounding the cottage I hesitate to call it a garden as it really is just an open grassy space.

  • "Our second visit - the best location of any Welsh cottage we’ve been to."

Walks to different landscapes in every direction. And a comfortable cottage to come back to.
