  • "Wow! What a place!"

So lovely, comfortable, modern and clean! We loved the thoughtful extras the owners left for us and were blown away by the stunning view! Everything we needed was there so we didn’t need to bother the owners at all. We really enjoyed our stay at Awel y Bryn! Totally recommend!

  • "Lovely cottage."

Lots of room and lovely beds! Excellent location for walks around reservoirs. We know area very well having stayed locally many times over at least 20 years, but this bungalow was easily the best we have stayed in. We are looking forward to coming again and have already booked another visit for next year. Many thanks to the owners who we were not able to meet this time.

  • "Great short stay, Awel y Bryn was spottles and spacious, with a good sized kitchen diner for a sociable breakfast, and a large living room with fantastic views over the hills."

We'll equipped throughout, and communication with the owners was easy when necessary. The only extra I would suggest is some toiletries for the showers.

  • "Loved our stay."

Lovely cottage with everything you need and stunning views. The cottage was spotless and really comfortable! Lambs and sheep were a lovely bonus as was watching the red kite throughout the day. The area is lovely too. So many special days and nice food was consumed! Nearby reservoirs/dams and waterfalls are very special and a surprise as we didn't realise we were on the Ellan Valley doorstep. So many walks and treks, but also lots of places you can drive as an alternative and still experience its beauty! The owners of the property are friendly and professional. Rhadader the local town has a lovely walk by the river as well as some nice places to eat and shop. Everyone we met was so friendly. We liked Landiloes, and Newton, and also took the train from Llandrindod Wells to Llanidloes which had lovely scenery.

Thankyou for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "What a truly beautiful place!"

It was perfect for our group and had everything we could need. Excellent communication too. The whole bungalow was very clean and immaculate. The views are incredible and it is not far to the Elan Valley. The beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and tidy and the kitchen is well-stocked with different utensils etc. We had a wonderful couple of days here. Thank you!

  • "An amazing property with stunning views, we woke up everyday to red kites flying across the lovely view, very clean had everything we needed, huge kitchen fully equipped."

wood burner was an extra touch to our stay having a glass of wine infront of crackling fire was the best part. We stayed for 7 nights and still felt like we could have stayed longer. The kids really enjoyed this break, the property is very local to all the beautiful views and waterfalls had plenty to do. The owners of the property were very kind and helpful Thank you

  • "The property was very clean, the view was fantastic."

Thank you for the biscuits and wine - think customers think this is a nice touch. There was always hot water on tap. We did not have children with us but think they would love being so close to the sheep in the field at the front. Did not know about the red kites being so close in the area and this was a good feature. I would recommend the accommodation, I would revisit and thought the accommodation was of a very good quality as it looked like it had been refurbished recently. Being on the one level was good for my elderly mother. Provision of the wood burner and logs is a good feature and we would have used but we were visiting relatives. I would improve the directions given on the confirmation e-mail. Could Sykes put on a video from the centre of Rhayader to the accommodation? All the best with the accommodation in future.

  • "We loved the property and the location."

Everything was well laid out - just two small comments which weren't raised the time because we were there only one full day (over 2 nights). We thought there would be a cafetiere - just one of those things that some people are not bothered about but we love our ground coffee! We also noticed that the push down plug in the en-suite was not quite holding the water in the sink - it may need a small adjustment but it did not cause us any great inconvenience. You don't need to publish these two points as it might give the wrong impression so feel free to remove these. The property and location were absolutely spot on.

Thankyou for your feedback ,we will get a cafetiere and will have a look at the plug in the en-suite, glad you enjoyed. Many thanks Shan. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation is outstanding and has everything we needed."

Nice special touches with wine and milk in fridge and Welsh cakes to enjoy. Stunning views of the countryside and a great base to explore mid Wales. Elan Valley visitor centre 15 minutes drive away, where we bought a book of maps of valley dam walks and highly recommend the mountain road to Aberystwyth stopping at Devil’s Bridge on the way.

It was also great for watching the numerous Red Kites which could be seen at most times of the day. The accommodation was very modern, comfortable and well equipped. We had a great weeks holiday and would recommend.
