The property

Compton House is a charming, Grade II-listed, three-storey mid-terrace in the village of Llanfyllin, Powys.

It is perfect for a group getaway as it has an open-plan living area with a wood-burning stove to feel toasty and accepts a pet.

Enter your new holiday home and meet the open plan living area where you can spend time relaxing in each other's company.

Get the stove on to make the room nice and warm as you take a seat on the sofa.

Be sure to use the kitchen to cook up a meal everyone will be eager for around the dining table.

After enjoying the lovely food, move outside into the courtyard garden to have a seat on the furniture.

Take in the sunset together whilst sharing a drink to get into the holiday spirit.

Come back inside when the night-time chill is in the air and head to the second floor to another sitting room where you can flick on the Smart TV to watch your favourite show together or pick a book out for some evening entertainment.

When you start to yawn, pick either a king-size, double or twin bedroom to have some rest ahead of another joyous day.

Go for a day out in Welshpool, located just 12 miles away, to view the magnificent medieval Powis Castle.

Have an idyllic stroll around the National Trust, taking in the fabulous gardens on offer.

Pop into the Clive Museum to see significant South Asian artefacts.

Visit Lake Vyrnwy, located just 9 miles away, to go for a beautiful walk around the water, try your hand at some watersports with kayaking and windsurfing on offer, or have a group mountain biking session.

Right from the doorstep of Compton House, scenic walking routes lead up into the surrounding hills, an area of untouched Welsh beauty with breathtaking panoramic views.

The house is set in a welcoming small town, so you won’t need a car to enjoy your stay.

All essentials are within easy walking distance along the high street, including a local Spar, butchers, laundrette, three pubs offering food (The Cain Valley, The Bistro, and The Old New Inn), two cosy cafes (Something Tasty and The Cross Keys), and a high-end dining experience at Seeds for a more refined evening out.

You can also catch monthly music nights at the pubs and cafes, from live jazz to open mic and karaoke.

Further afield is the chance to see the amazing Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).

There are incredible mountain hikes to take on and challenge each other to do.

Go and see the Swallow Falls for some beautiful scenery, or book your ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway for unreal picture opportunities.
