  Little barn was the nicest cottage we’ve ever stayed in It was clean and cosy The bed was so comfortable with comfortable pillows It lacked nothing everything you needed was available Peter and Gill were the perfect hosts making our stay more enjoyable The welcome pack was awesome the best ever The area is stunning with amazing views and lots of lovely walks We loved it so much we’re planning on going back soon

• "Comfortable and warm, well equiped, friendly and helpful owner and a really generous welcome hamper of goodies on our arrival."

  We enjoy walking and there are numerous paths in every direction from the door. Maps and walking guides provided. Local shop is open late (even Christmas day) and has a basics, good supermarkets in Oswestry. Almost everyone we passed while walking said hello. We both slept really well in comfy beds.

• "The cottage was exactly as we had hoped it would be."

  Very homely and cosy with a log fire to come back to at the end of the day. On arrival we found lots of ‘goodies’ including bread, milk, cheese, eggs, etc. etc. The owner, Pete made us very welcome and obviously enjoyed the opportunity to explain everything to us. We could find nothing negative about our five night stay. We visited local towns which were very interesting but unfortunately the weather wasn’t so good so we couldn’t take advantage of exploring the local countryside. The British Ironworks, just down the A5 outside of Oswestry was however well worth the visit, especially for the huge afternoon tea!

• "We arrived on a dark, wet and windy afternoon."

  It was great to find a warm cosy and well equipped cottage. The super generous welcome pack was much appreciated and it was great to see local artisan producers supported. The weather changed to 'polar' conditions but we were cosy with the central heating and wood burner. (we used a lot of wood but Pete kept us well supplied). The kitchen had everything we needed for self catering and there are plenty of shops/supermarkets in Oswestry for supplies. There are endless walks locally and maps and information are provided. Unfortunately the weather was against us so we stuck to visits to National Trust & local attractions. There is a pub in the village which has limited opening hours and no food whilst we visited. It's a bit of a trek up the lane at night with no footpaths. All in all we were very pleased with the cottage and the hospitality we received from the friendly owners.

• "We were looking for somewhere quiet and comfortable to spend a few days."

  The Little Barn was perfect. We had a fantastic break and came home feeling rested and chilled out. The Little Barn has real character and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back!

• "This property was very well kept and had everything we needed, it was also very quiet with only a small amount of traffic passing."

  Although it had turned cooler, we found the central heating more than sufficient and didn't even consider using the wood burner. Pete, one of the owners visited on the day we arrived to point out some things that were not covered in the written instructions, which we found helpful. The owners had also left a very generous welcome pack, which was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. We will almost certainly stay here again next year, if we're able to.

• "A real little gem."

  You won’t be disappointed. Beautiful little cottage, cosy and homely and equipped with everything you could need. The owners were exception hosts in also providing extra wood for the fire when needed and the hamper of local farm shop goodies were delicious. There is a post office and convenience store just a 4 minute walk away and a pub on the opposite corner. Was a perfect cottage in a beautiful sleepy village just outside Oswestry. We will most definitely be back when we visit the area. Thank you :)

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights at Little Barn."

  Pete and Gill were lovely hosts and on hand next door for any questions we had. The welcome basket and fridge food was above and beyond what we could have expected - all local produce and this prompted a visit to the deli where some of it came from and where we purchased more. The dog was also included in the goodies with yummy treats and a new toy! The kitchen was very well stocked and the bedrooms and lounge very comfortable. This little cottage has character and is in a quiet lane surrounded by road and field walks! As there isn't an enclosed garden we took the dog to the recreation ground just down the road for a run around. The patio outside the back door (the only door!) is very private and very quiet. All in all, a great experience and have already recommended it to others.

• "We are so glad we chose this beautiful cottage for a much needed break."

  The moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, who were kind and considerate throughout our stay. The cottage was extremely comfortable, with everything we needed. We loved all of the little touches - especially the herbs on the terrace which smelled lovely when we'd sit out there and have our dinner. Indoors, the kitchen was well-equipped (there were even utensils to make our matcha - we'd forgotten to bring ours so were pleasantly surprised to find them). The bed was comfortable, the sky-light windows were lovely (we slept under the stars). There was a comfortable basket for our little dog, as well as bowls for his water and food. The hosts had thoughtfully provided us with some local produce for our breakfast, as well as other generous treats for us to enjoy. We arrived late on our first night, and in the morning we were further delighted when we explored the village, with gorgeous walks and friendly locals. Perhaps the friendliest village we've ever been to. The quiet location was perfect to get some quality sleep and reconnect with nature. Our small dog enjoyed many walks in the clean countryside air. There was a nice pub only 10 minutes away on foot. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property, and are already talking about how nice it would be to return for another break, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life that we are used to. Simply a gem.
