  • "We had a wonderful week hear with our family celebrating a 21st anniversary and a 70th birthday."

Lovely large cottage with wonderful features and beautiful surroundings. Lovely walks to the little town and surrounding areas. Could do with a larger bbq but other than that no issues. Would happily come back again.

The only thing that I think would improve the stay is having cupboard space in the kitchen for food.

Our family ages range from 81 to 4 years old and everyone had a ball. 4 of us visited the slate mine well worth the money. We had Sunday lunch at the Red lion for mother's day good value for money, delicious and very welcoming.

  • "Fabulous cottage."

6 adults 4 kids and a cavapoo had a great week in the October half term. The hot tub was an absolute winner the wood burners made it so cosy. The inside space meant that everyone could do their own thing and always find a quiet corner. The owners Mr and Mrs Evans were lovely they were so very welcoming and certainly made you feel at home from the start. Outside the views are spectacular and whether you are an ardent hiker or just going for a walk with the kids there are some great places to explore. The walk into Dinas Mawddwy was lovely on the forest path about 1.5 miles There you have a pub a post office and a beautiful little coffee and gift shop which sells delicious cakes and well worth a visit. Even before the end of the holiday we were planning a return visit next spring.

  • "We had the best holiday!"

The owners are lovely, they told us some great walking routes around the cottage. Cottage was immaculate and everything is well thought of! Hot tub was great and the gardens to the cottage were not only beautiful but perfect for our 3 dogs. As a group of 11 and 3 dogs there was plenty of space for us all. I loved that each bathroom had a different amenity, kids showered in a different bathroom each night! So many kitchen utilities and log fires stocked up ready on arrival. The location is perfect, feels like your there all alone! We had the perfect stay and enjoyed visits to many local areas and attractions! We will be visiting again.

In a stunning location with jets flying past, Mair and David are lovely hosts and Martin next door very knowledgeable about the local area. The cottage itself was full of character and very spacious, everything you need is there - the hot tub topped things off nicely. Wonderful place to stay and central to lots of places to visit - we loved it and will be going back!

  • "Excellent cottage."

Mr and Mrs Evans were so friendly, very warm and welcoming with lots of advice on where to walk locally. The location was stunning and the cottage very quiet. Hot tub excellent, very private and sheltered from any wind. We couldn’t have wished for a better cottage, spotlessly clean for such an old place, and full of character. If you like hill walking, you are spoilt for choice. We would recommend walking up the forestry track behind the cottage to Glasgwm, and the walk up Foel Dinas via the stunning Maesglase valley opposite the cottage. And Camlan is very much worth a visit

Quiet surroundings with amenities not too far. Also quite a few local attractions and beaches not more than 30-40 mins away. We loved our short break here it was just a shame we were only here for 4 days i wish it was longer. Clive is a top guy, extremely helpful. All in all would recommend this as a superb location for a holiday.

  • "We had a lovely stay at this lovely cottage."

The views with breathtaking and the accommodation itself was great. However a couple of things could be approved on. A couple of the amenities such as the hot tub, music player and furnishing need updating a bit. The bed in the master bedroom was pretty uncomfy as well. Everything else was perfect though, the log burner was amazing, we enjoyed many nights huddled round the dining table playing board games in front of the fire. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed. The owners were so lovely and always on hand to ask any questions we had.

As there were 4 couples it was perfect having 4 double bedrooms each having its own bath/shower room then a 5th bedroom with 3 single beds which we didn’t use. Everyone could be together or get away from each other all in the same cottage. Very well equipped inside the kitchen and elsewhere with games, books, darts etc Unfortunately the hot tub was not working when we arrived but the owners were great and got this fixed as quickly as possible but as we had missed 4 days use of the hot tub the owners were very fair and offered us compensation. Their customer service is exemplary and they could not have been more help. We had an amazing time and have recommended this cottage to others already Thank you for the great stay.

If you're after a peaceful break with beautiful scenery in a character cottage, this is the one. So many rooms - plenty of room for all of us. Well off the main road so it's completely silent. Great views. Pubs not far away. There's a Co-op in Dogellau which is about a 15 minute drive away so was easy to stock up on food. We were on a mountain biking holiday and there was a large games room for us to put our bikes in and loads of room outside for bike maintenance and all of our vehicles. The bottom of the Red Bull hard line is a few hundred meters away from the cottage so that was amazing to look at (but well out of our league). The hot tub was used by nearly everyone - it's got loads of room and was nice and warm - but we couldn't get the time machine feature to work ;)
