We absolutely love this place - and have been back many times.

The location is perfect for hiking and biking and the cottage is the perfect place to come back to after a day out exploring.

Amazing accomodation, location just as amazing, lovely hosts.

If you like the peace and quiet and the remoteness this is for you. All the mod cons inc dishwasher, washer and dryer. Everything modern and cared for. Conservatory is a welcome addition but we used as a living room as the views are fab. Underfloor heating worked wonders for tired sore feet after a long day walking. Will definitely return

We spent a lot of time in the conservatory. The views, in all directions from the cottage we're fabulous. It was lovely to be able to take walks in the hills direct from the cottage. The owners and family were delightful, friendly and helpful, whilst respectful of our privacy. We were lucky enough to have a week of glorious weather. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

The property is really lovely in a stunning location with beautiful walks close by. Richard and Laura are so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed seeing the day to day activities of the farm. We have rented several holiday properties over the years, and Ysgubor Las is probably the very best.

A comfortable high standard barn conversion in a superb peaceful location, with very friendly and helpful hosts. We have no doubt that we will visit again soon.

The cottage is in a fantastic location with great views.

We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony as it catches the morning sun whilst the downstairs conservatory gets the evening light. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equiped and the bathroom has a good shower. It's a short drive to Dolgellau where there are a good variety of shops and well worth walking round to enjoy the narrow streets and interesting houses.

We come from germany and spent the first time at Ysgubor Las for just one week.

We enjoyed the calm and extremely comfortable cottage as well as the magnificent views. Just staying there, visiting Dolgellau and Machynleth, walking around Clegennan Lakes and fishing River Dovey was a great experience. Sorry, that we didn`t had more time! Gunnar and Anna

Wonderful location and super property.

If you are looking for great Welsh scenery and peaceful surroundings this can’t be beaten You feel as though you are miles from anywhere but in fact the great little town of Dolgellau is very close. Great walking from the site plus access to all the great things that Snowdonia can offer but without any of the crowds that can gather elsewhere. Perfect.

The cottage was really beautiful, it was cosy and yet felt spacious.

Fabulous views from the balcony which looked different almost hour by hour with the ever changing weather. Lovely tracks and paths to walk directly from the cottage. It was a really relaxing stay and would definitely like to come again. Perfect!

Our trip was everything we could have hoped for and more! The property is well laid out and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of walks from or near the property and plenty of places to visit without long drives. We will be back as so much to see and explore

Amazing ,on entering the property you see two framed articles on the barn conversion, one an article in the news paper about the family and the history of the barn and how it was converted , the other a certificate awarding it first prize in barn conversion.

It then opens out into a very large conservatory, furnished to a very relaxing attire. The bedrooms are spottily clean and of a good size, the bathroom has a walk in shower and is also is finished too a very high standard. The upper level with the kitchen and sitting area is a joy, and the original beams set it all off too a tee. Outside we had the fields with the lambs and a truly wonderful view. A fantastic holiday property, that will not disappoint those looking for a that little bit extra. Richard the owner is very friendly and approachable. I hope this will help others who are looking to book a stay at a very high spec property.

This time we stayed for two weeks because a week has never seemed long enough before. Richard, Laura & family are delightful and very welcoming. The location is quite beautiful!

This is an excellent holiday cottage - it suited us perfectly.

There was plenty of space for all our outdoor kit - boots, coats, bikes, which was ideal. The surrounding farm land makes the cottage such a peaceful place to be. Richard and Laura were so friendly and willing to help with anything. We’d definitely like to stay here again.

A really lovely cottage with spectacular views, a really special place.

Endless entertainment watching the sheep, lambs and wildlife. Plenty of walks within a short distance. The place itself is clean, warm and well equipped with everything we needed for the week. Would love to go back, a break here is good for the soul.

).Absolutely delightful owners who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and checked we were ok when it snowed. We've already booked our next visit! A real escape from it all but just a couple of moles to the lovely local town. Not too far to visit many local attractions .The cottage itself was so cosy and so thoughtfully converted. There were wonderful walks from the door.

We loved it so much we went back again 6 weeks later. Quiet and stunning views, the photos don't do it justice. Richard was really helpful and friendly. Close to Dolgellau but very rural so best of both worlds. The property is comfortable, warm and cosy with all the mod cons you need. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Lovely barn conversion on a sheep farm.

Upside down accommodation to take advantage of the views of the mountains. Upstairs balcony to sit out on in good weather to enjoy the views. Lovely conservatory for when the weather is not quite so good. Nice quiet location but close to the village and other attractions.

Fabulous accommodation in an idyllic setting.

Friendly and helpful owners. Absolutely loved it. It can be a challenge keeping the farm cats out of the house on a hot day!

We loved our stay at Ysgabur Las, we had the perfect week (including the weather!

). The accommodation is beautiful and the views are absolutely breathtaking. We loved meeting the cats and horses! Richard and Laura are really helpful and friendly. We visited Zipworld, hired bikes locally in Dolgellau, and went on many of the local walks. There are lots of nice pubs and restaurants nearby, we would recommend Mawdacch Pizza and Crossfoxes, both of which were lovely. We would recommend the property 100%, it is faultless.

An idyllic place to stay in a stunning setting.

This was our first visit to Wales & to be honest, far and away better than the West Country. Superb roads for motorcycles & mostly traffic free. Win, win in my book. Book this property & you will not be disappointed. A big thank you to Richard & Laura for having the vision to design such fantastic accommodation.

The converted barn was superb, beautifully decorated and in an amazing location.

The property had every home comfort and luxury that you could wish for, the views from the balcony are unbeatable watching the sun rise and set over the mountains. We loved being surrounded by the sheep, cows, horses and visits from the cats during the week. The owners were really friendly and helpful and we definitely intend to return as the whole holiday was brilliant. The area of Snowdonia is wonderful for walking, cycling, sight seeing and relaxing, what an amazing part of the world. We specifically came to stay in the area for the Mach loop where fast jets practice low level flying but the mountain walks are really great too, loads of castles and tourist attractions in all directions.

This is the perfect place to stay near Dolgellau.

Very nice cottage in lovely scenic location and just a couple of miles outside dolgellau enjoyed seeing the animals and got to see sheep being sheared,lovely family richard was such a lovely person so helpful and friendly All in all had a great holiday.

We had a fantastic stay at Ysgubor Las.

The cottage was beautiful and well kitted out and the surroundings were stunning, with great walks and cycle trails nearby. The children loved playing with the cats on the farm and seeing the new lambs and pony and Richard was always on hand to answer any queries and make recommendations for local attractions. We hope to come back.

A second visit to Ysgubor Las for Christmas situated in the most idyllic setting and providing all the creature comforts needed.

The owners Laura and Richard are delightful and always there to help. The little extras of Christmas decorations and mulled wine and mince pies were much appreciated. Every day provides stunning mountain views in any weather. A real get away place to relax and encompass the location. We will definitely be back to see the majestic mountains again soon Judy and Peter

The cottage was simply superb, renovated to a very high standard with everything you could need. The cottage was relaxing, comfortable, spacious (for 2 people) well equipped and spotlessly clean. Richard and Laura made us feel very welcome and were on hand if needed but were never intrusive. Can not recommend this property highly enough and can not wait to return to the area and specially Ysgubor Las.

Quiet situation and breathtaking views.

Sitting in the conservatory and watching the skyscape was awesome. Owners live in a farmhouse nearby and were helpful and welcoming. Loved the conversion of cowshed to modern without spoiling character. Also the underfloor heating was a big bonus.

We have just returned from 3 weeks at Ysgubor las.

The cottage is lovely, the location is perfect for a peaceful holiday, and in the current situation very safe. Really didn’t want to leave. It was a pleasure to meet Richard, Laura and their family, Such a lovely family, We have already booked to go next year.

Ysgubor Las is a really terrific holiday let.

Very comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location - beautiful setting, isolated, but within easy reach of Dolgellau and the main road. We stayed for a few days in winter, during which Storm Jorge blew through: despite the gale-force winds and heavy rain, we didn’t feel a hint of a draught or cold. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the conservatory is a rock-solid construction, impermeable to wind and rain and full of light even on very stormy days. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

A really lovely cottage, made even more so by the balcony which was used every day to fully admire the fantastic views and watch the daily sheep runs.

Warm, comfortable and with friendly, responsive (but not at all intrusive) nearby owners I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay. Cader Idris, Portmerion and Snowdon all within driving reach and enjoyed during this visit.

We enjoyed our week at Ysgubor Las.

First impressions were very positive, the location is absolutely beautiful and the cottage has some wonderful panoramic views of the area. We met the owners on arrival and found them very friendly and helpful. The cottage itself is excellent, a bit more spacious than I was expecting and manages to retain some of the building's original character despite feeling modern and well built. The upstairs balcony is a particularly nice touch. The view from there is fabulous and it is a great place to sit and relax on a sunny day. The bedrooms are a good size and the open plan living area upstairs is also bigger than you might expect from the photos, comfortable and well equipped. My only complaint was the mattress in the main bedroom which was very soft, felt quite uncomfortable and I did miss my own bed! Different people like different mattresses however, so this is a minor complaint. Dolgellau and the surrounding area is very beautiful with lots of things to do and this cottage was an ideal base for our holiday. We have now spent many years taking self catering holidays in the UK and this is one of the best cottages we have visited.

Ysgubor Las far exceeds any other cottage we have stayed in.

Simply put, it is fantastic! It is warm, comfortable and very well- equipped. The location is incredible with far reaching views from every angle. Richard and Laura are the most wonderful hosts and give of their time freely whilst running a sheep farm and bringing up a young family. We shall find it difficult to find anywhere else to stay like Ysgubor Las. ( Perhaps that's why we have already rebooked!)

We loved the wonderful accommodation and the amazing changing scenery provided by the very comfortable conservatory, with sheep wondering over the hills what could be nicer.

Ysgubar Las is in an extremely good location for visiting many places. On Christmas Day we strolled along the beach at Harlech. The owners Laura and Richard and children are extremely welcoming always making sure that everything is fine, and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Judy and Peter Creed

What more could you ask for, everything was perfect, even the weather! This cottage is one of the best and would highly recommend it.

This is the best rental cottage I have stayed in anywhere in the UK.

The owners have done a magnificent job in modernizing this old barn. They have managed to keep the old features in tact while fitting it out to the highest specification. The accommodation has everything you need for your stay from a well appointed kitchen to a luxury bathroom. The house is spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard. The owners Richard and Laura are the nicest people you could have as hosts. They took time out of there extremely busy farming schedule to ensure everything was just right for us. The couple have a fantastic knowledge of the Snowdonia area and are only to happy to assist you in any way they can to ensure you have a comfortable stay. This is a superb cottage in a fantastic location and I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone.

Excellent cottage - well located and surrounded by beautiful countryside!

The accommodation was fabulous, great views over the surrounding countryside.

It was very nice being able to sit on the balcony and drink our wine, or just sit and relax in the conservatory and read. With plenty of places to visit in the area it made a very enjoyable week.

The cottage was much better than we anticipated , the pictures don't do it justice , it has the feel of a very remote location with stunning views, that isn't miles and miles from a main road .

Whilst in the cottage we lived in the conservatory ,we read, watched films and watched nothing go by..... ideal and just what we wanted as an early year break . Great help and advice from the owners ,plus a really nice touch , we arrived very late in the dark , and to see the outside area lit up made it much more special. We rarely return to any holiday cottage, this I think will be an exception.

Excellent property and ideal location, very high standards and lovely owners, and had a wonderful holiday.

The only improvements we would suggest for this property to be better is a bath.

For smaller children- they don't always like to get a shower. My husband also prefers a bath.
