  • "Great place to stay."

    Comfortable sofas, plenty of facilities. Lovely garden ideal for our dog as it was totally enclosed and safe. Handy to visit other places as near the A149. Lovely walks in the local woods. The only issue was the feather cushions and pillows as I’m asthmatic. Pub practically next door. Everything you want from a holiday was here.

  • "We loved our week at Joys cottage."

    The decor and the furnishings are really lovely with a quirky and pleasant feel. The location is really dog friendly. You can walk straight from the cottage through woodlands which leads to RSPB area and on to the beach. There is a busy road to cross but it did not give us any problems. Snettisham has a friendly village vibe with pubs, doctors, dental practice, vets, co-op and more. Lidl is two miles away. Generous welcome pack too. Thank you, Joy. Highly recommended.

  • "Very well equipped and comfortable cottage, in a great location for seeing the area."

    Huge selection of places to visit, and good range of eateries nearby. Helpful and friendly support from the owner, and lots of useful information in the property. Extra towels and treats for the dog were a nice touch. Securely enclosed and sunny garden area, but laid almost entirely to paving, decking and gravel, with plenty of useful furniture. This was lovely for human visitors but perhaps a little bit stark for dogs. Off-road parking was adequate for a small saloon car. Access and space would be tight for a larger family vehicle. Overall, we would be very happy to return again.

    A very well maintained property. A well equipped kitchen and a lovely welcome hamper.The only drawback is the blind on the kitchen door which makes getting into the property with luggage difficult.

  • "Lots of good things about Joy's cottage."

    It is compact with all we needed for us, four adults. The little garden is lovely and the outdoor table and chairs are comfy and we were lucky to be able to use them a lot in September. The indoor seating was not quite as comfortable, but certainly OK for a week's stay. All the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The welcome pack was very well received, a good choice of items. The cottage is well situated in the village and for visiting beaches and Norfolk sites.

  • "A comfortable cottage with a pleasant garden area."

    Comfortable beds and attractively decorated throughout. Perfect for a week's stay. Very close to both Rose and Crown and Queen Vic pubs as well as The Old Bank, the Old Store and a local Co-op. We would stay again on our next trip to Norfolk.

    We would certainly return if we visit Norfolk again. The only issue we found is if you have a large vehicle the parking can be quite tight.

  • "The best cottage we have stayed in."

    Joy's Place has everything - so so comfortable, stylishly furnished and decorated, beautifully clean, thoughtful extras like dog towels and a really generous welcome basket. Snettisham is a nice village with a good pub and lovely coffee shop The Old Store. Walking from the door and a good bus service. Recommend Holkham and Castle Rising to visit while you're there - Joy left loads of useful information about the surrounding area. We would definitely return to Joy's place.

  • "We had the most wonderful week's break in Joy's Cottage."

    This is an exceptionally well maintained and accessible cottage and we cannot fault it. Ideally placed for lovely walks from the door as well as a base for all the lovely places north Norfolk has to offer. We packed in too much to completely list here, and although we had one very rainy day (spent mostly in Burnham Market undercover in the lovely shops and eating in Thornham deli) we also enjoyed some unseasonably sunny and warm weather for November, perfect for long walks along beaches. Thank you Joy for your beautiful cottage, full of everything you need along with some wonderful touches that we kept finding throughout our week. Janet and John Uwins

    My name is Joy too so it felt extra fun! From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and excited about our stay. We loved our welcome hamper and the homely decor, everything was spotless and just lovely :) The cottage was incredibly well equipped and Joy was an excellent host (dealing with our single issue very quickly with no inconvenience to us). Joy provided lots of information about things to do all around the area which we made the most of. We enjoyed making special family memories with our kids :) It’s a stunning part of the country to explore and Joys Cottage is the perfect base! We would highly recommend to anyone!

  • "We had a fantastic time staying at Joy’s Cottage."

    The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. We used the garden courtyard a lot for breakfast, a bbq and cards in the evening. The location was a perfect base for exploring the area and also nice for a potter into Snettisham. Joy was kind and made sure we had everything we needed which helped make our stay wonderfully memorable.

  • "Our cat, Charlie, loved the garden."

    Our only criticism would be to have a hose and broom for the garden. A lot of dried pigeon poo spoilt the experience. I had to carry the watering can through the house to water the hanging basket and fill the bird bath. As I said though, that's the only criticism. House furnishings were excellent and spotlessly clean We loved it.

    Tucked away, so it’s close to the centre but quiet. Joy couldn’t have been more helpful. The facilities mark was only because there wasn’t a telly in the bedroom and I thought I saw one in the picture. It’s only a personal thing …but it is something I like.

Tucked away around the corner from the heart of Snettisham is this beautifully appointed, pet-friendly cottage in Norfolk, Joy's Cottage.

Park on the roadside in front of the cottage and follow the shared path up to the entrance; there's a handy, private outbuilding to store bikes and golf clubs during your stay!

The interior of Joy's Cottage has been wonderfully designed with an industrial and contemporary theme throughout, along with heritage colours and everything you need for a self-catering holiday.

Be welcomed into the kitchen/diner, a spacious room to socialise with your loved ones and cook your favourite meals in the well-equipped kitchen.

Keep the family chef company at the breakfast bar before setting the table for everyone to enjoy a hearty meal together.

Whether it's curling up with a good book or catching your favourite show on the Smart TV, the sitting room provides cushioned seating, a rustic coffee table and a woodburning stove.

A little further along the Norfolk Coast AONB are the stunning beaches of Holme, Holkham and Blakeney, all scattered with numerous other wildlife sanctuaries and attractions.

Budding historians can visit beautiful National Trust properties such as Oxborough and Blickling Hall, and also Sandringham House and Gardens.

SNETTISHAM

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
