  • "The property was really lovely, everything we needed was there."

Plenty of walking and nice little village with good friendly pubs. The property owners were very friendly and could not do enough for us. Even getting a new TV as we were having a problem. Will be going back. Recommend this place.

  • "Lovely quiet situation."

Nice welcome pack and arrived (Nov.) to a lit log burner, which was lovely... free wood included too in our stay. Very comfy beds with good quality linen. We would have liked blinds/curtains in kitchen to make it cosier whilst eating, at this time of year but this did not stop us having a lovely stay at Meadow View.

  • "Nice property with a good enclosed garden for the dogs."

Plenty of free wood available for the fire. Nice local pub called the Nags head with lovely homemade meals and dog friendly. Pubs, chip shop, bakery, pharmacy and a co-op less than 10 minutes walk away. Well equipped kitchen but would be useful to have a washing up bowl as the plug doesn’t work well to stop the water going down. When we arrived, there was a shoot happening, and there were dead pheasants and a dead muntjac bleeding on the floor by the owners property. Not nice to see so just be aware of this especially if you have children. Very close to noisy dog boarding kennels but you can’t hear it from inside the property with windows closed. Non slip netting on the decking at the front sticks up in places and is rusty so be careful of the dogs paws. We tripped over this ourselves quite a few times. There is carpet in the lounge and with 4 sets of muddy paws we were worried about the mess from coming back from walks and from the garden. We brought loads of throws which we had to use to cover the carpet and had to wipe their paws every time. There is no information booklet to tell you how to use the heating etc, this would have been useful. The lady owner was lovely, she said we could let our dogs off lead in their woods, we did this early one morning then had the male owner drive up to us almost hitting our dogs with the car saying no wonder there are no pheasants about. When we got back to the property he said he would appreciate the dogs being on a lead in the woods and his wife should not have said they can be off lead. Nowhere on the website or confirmation email does it state that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms, so if your dogs are like our and are used to being in our bedrooms at night, this is not the property for you.

  • "Having realised how valuable reviews are i feel compelled to write a review for our holiday in this cabin."

The cabin itself was lovely. Kitchen was well equipped, bedroom was spacious and comfy bed and bathroom spacious and shower good. White settees were a worry in a dog friendly cottage but again comfortable and white tiled kitchen floor was also disastrous as no mop or bucket was available and yet instructions given to leave the cottage clean and as you find it! Also, sadly upon arriving we had to clean up 10 bags of..... left by the previous visiting dog (s)!!!!!! However all of the above wouldn't have been as disappointing as the instructions of keeping the dogs on lead.in the woods due to the recent release of grouse birds for the forthcoming "shoot". Also nowhere did the description of the cabin explain that a outside learning facility for special needs children was en route to the woods and therefore another reason that dogs couldn't be off lead and this was 50% of why we had chosen this particular cabin and it's surrounding facilities. The owner took great delight in driving his digger constantly round the cabin and to the dump store to one side of the cabin! All in all cabin was comfortable but for all the negative points we won't be returning.

In the near by village of Attleborough you had several Supermarkets. Our dogs loved the garden and there were plenty of places to walk them. One word of caution there are an awful lot of deer roaming in the nearby forest and being that we have Sighthounds we needed to keep a careful eye on them. The cottage was very modern with everything you could ask for, as well as tastefully decorated. The family that run the farm are lovely and friendly. However, we found the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Kitchen cupboards had clearly been wiped down with either a dirty or greasy cloth, leaving smear marks all over the highly glossed units. Dusty with cobwebs and spiders everywhere - I understand it’s a working farm, but a quick flick round with the feather duster in the crevices would have been ample. Finally, again - I understand it’s a working farm - but the flies there are a real problem! By the sounds of it it’s an annual problem too, in which case, maybe provide magnetic netting in the doors and windows to possibly alleviate this issue. We couldn’t open windows or doors without there being an influx of flies literally bombarding the rooms! With the weather being quite nice, we found this very unfortunate as it was quite hot and stuffy inside. We were supplied with fly spray, swats and fly tape but had to ask for these. I would like reiterate that the family that live on the farm are very friendly and helpful.
