  • "We used the Gun Room as additional accommodation as we had booked Winston Hall for a family event."

    It was perfect for this as it is close to the hall and was easy to stay connected. The room is well furnished and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay.

  • "Small kitchen area, could have had the microwave off the worktop and placed on a shelf above to give more worktop space for dishing up meals and making tea etc."

    , shortage of crockery and cutlery, nowhere to put washing up or bowl, except in the bath in the bathroom. instead of 1 armchair in the main room (bedroom) there could have been a small table and two small dining chairs thus giving people somewhere to sit and have their meal or tea rather than sitting on the bed having their meal. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating and the bedroom and bathroom were nicely decorated and clean.

The Gun Room has been thoughtfully designed as a cosy base from which to explore the beautiful Waveney Valley.

It offers a comfortable place to sleep in a stunning four-poster king-size bed, refresh, and enjoy a simple breakfast before heading out for the day.

To make mornings a little easier, we've included a compact kitchenette with the essentials for preparing light meals and drinks.

Following previous guest feedback, we've also added a table and two chairs.

The half-moon table folds out to provide a larger dining space when needed.

Please note, there is no sink in the kitchenette Outside, off-road parking for two cars ensures easy access, while the surrounding countryside invites gentle walks and opportunities for wildlife spotting.

The location offers the best of both relaxation and adventure.

Nearby Beccles charms with its riverside walks, independent shops, and inviting cafés and restaurants.

A short drive away, Southwold awaits with sandy beaches, a traditional pier, and a thriving arts scene.

Lowestoft 11 miles.

The historic market town of Beccles has excellent amenities, with unique shops, many of which are independent retailers and the range of restaurants and dining facilities are impressive, with numerous cafes, tea rooms and traditional inns. There are also a number of interesting buildings, including the Town Hall and Quaker Hall, which houses the weekly country farmers' market. The more active visitor may wish to explore the town and surrounding area via the Beccles Marsh Trail, which is divided into three walks of varying distance and character. With an outdoor swimming pool and various play areas, children are well catered for, whilst cyclists can enjoy a number of cycle routes around the town. Beccles is surrounded by open countryside, whilst an easy drive brings you to the popular Suffolk coast and the seaside resorts of Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and Southwold.
