  • "A very well presented cottage clean throughout bathroom spotless no problems with shower."

Kitchen had everything you need for self catering including a welcome pack .Beds comfy with good clean bedding . Lovely sun room to relax in overlooking a well maintained garden. Fed and watered the Ducks daily Television poor reception at times and WiFi intermittent but not a great concern Would stay again but for the front parking not ideal really needs the kerb dropping so you can reverse into space .A surprisingly very busy road . Only a small car would get into space Thank you did have an enjoyable few days.

  • "Duck cottage is just like a tardis, on the outside, it looks quite small once inside it's amazing, it just goes on and on."

It is a real credit to the owners there was nothing that we wanted that wasn't there. During the heatwave last week it was a pleasure to go inside into the cool main part of the cottage. there is a lovely conservatory on the back good to sit in on cooler days. The ducks are very amusing also there seems to be a local owl to listen to at night. Snettisham is a good base to explore the lovely surrounding area and has plenty of local places to eat. We had a lovely time and would have no problem visiting again.

  • "Duck Cottage was everything we hoped it would be."

It is so aptly named, as most days ducks can be seen sitting on the lawn relaxing in the sun. We found everything we needed in the well-equipped kitchen and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. People in the local Co-op were friendly and helpful and the Rose & Crown served superb food but beware and book is you want to eat on a Saturday night. Thank you, Jackie, for making our stay so pleasant. I ould reccomend Duck Cottage to my friends.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We would particularly like to thank you for being such considerate guests and leaving the cottage so very clean and tidy. Regards Jacky and Richard. Property Owner

We had a great week here, but would have loved there to be a dishwasher in the kitchen. Parking at the front of the property was fine for us, but it is straight onto the road so you have to be careful of traffic. Fabulous beaches along this coast.

  • "Cottage was accurately described which helped to decide if it met our requirements."

Clean, comfortable and warm with ample cosy seating. Kitchen well equipped and a conservatory at rear ideal for enjoying afternoon sunshine. The limited off-road parking at front was sufficient for a Ford Fiesta; a larger car could overhang the pavement. The property has been tastefully modernised.

A cosy little property but although there was only myself and my wife we felt that the fridge could do with being a lot bigger. Apart from that it was quite satisfactory.

  • "This is a lovely cottage in a pleasant and friendly village with a co-op, 2 pubs, a restaurant and an excellent fish and chip shop."

The information given on the website is accurate but the photos do not give the full extent of the size of the property- it goes back and back with a lovely garden behind. The cottage is provided with everything you need and is warm and comfortable. Jacky gave us full control over the heating, which we found to be perfect. The parking is exactly as is said in the description. Our Golf fit on it and we found no problem getting onto it. Our daughter had brought her car, which she parked 50 yards away on a residential street with no issues. We found the cottage to be an excellent base for exploring North Norfolk and would have no hesitation in booking again.

  • "There were a few problems, mainly with the parking on the ‘driveway’."

It is awkward to get on it as there is always traffic coming both ways. It was a very busy road which was not mentioned. The car also stuck out over the path. The settees were not at all comfortable, good job we were out all day! The heating is left on all day and night so in the middle of the night it comes on and wakes you up, so we had to turn it right down, consequently it was cold in the morning. To get hot water to flow in the kitchen we had to run out about a gallon of water every time. In these days of conversation that is a lot of water wasted every day. The beds in the second bedroom were really children’s beds and not at all suitable for adults. On the plus side the property was very clean and very very warm. Wouldn’t book the same one again though.

Dear Mr Oliver I was sorry to hear via your feedback that you were unhappy with some aspects of your recent stay in Duck cottage. I agree that Lynn Road can be busy at certain times, . The lack of a dropped kerb and a description of the drives dimensions are included in the cottages description. The 2 bunk beds in the smaller room are 2 foot 6 single beds and are not marketed as children's beds. They are the same length as most other beds We had left the heating on constant as the temperature had varied such allot over the recent weeks in East Anglia, going from very cold to wet and mild very quickly. I had hoped that this would give our guests more flexibility to adjust the temperature of the cottage to meet their needs. Rather then leaving the heating to come on at scheduled times throughout the day. I had left our contact details in the cottage and do wish you had called us on one of the three numbers we provided. I would have been more then happy to talk you through adjusting the programmer from constant to timed. Or coming out to adjust the programmer to meet your needs. There is also allot of information regarding adjusting the programmer in the cottage information folder. The programmer is in the smaller wardrobe of the master bedroom. We do take all customer feedback seriously as we like to think that are customers have an enjoyable break in Duck Cottage, and in future will ask the client whether they prefer the heating to be left on timed or constant. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for leaving the cottage so very clean and tidy upon your departure. Yours Jacky Richardson. Property Owner

This is a lovely warm spacious cottage with everything you need and unlike others we have stayed at there is tons of wardrobe space. The conservatory is great and even in February you are treated to some fantastic sunsets. Only 5 minutes from the local shops and pubs and a short drive to the beach. We are serious walkers and this is a great base for exploring everything North Norfolk has to offer. Just up the road you have Snettisham Park which the kids will absolutely love and further up the cost you have the lovely seaside town of Hunstanton. The owners are great and ensure that you are well catered for and we were treated to a lovely welcome pack. We have already booked our stay for 2020.

The stairs in the cottage are very steep with a awkward turn near the bottom. If you are young or fully fit no problem but if like me you have dodgy knees and hips they can be challenging. Other than that the cottage is lovely, set in a beautiful friendly village which boasts two great pubs and a small but we'll stocked Co op. We really enjoyed our stay here and w I'll hopefully be back soon.

It had a beautiful mix of character features combined with contemporary style. The garden and conservatory were lovely places to enjoy breakfast and evening drinks. The cottage was situated within a really sweet village with access to lots of interesting places to visit. We would highly recommend the deer safari and Sandringham House. We also enjoyed a trip to Norfolk Lavender where we had a delicious lunch. The seaside town of Hunstanton offered crazy golf and arcades for the children to enjoy. The only minor problem was the lack of wifi as we would have liked to have checked the weather forecast, entry costs, opening times etc. However, the flip-side of no wifi meant that the teenagers were more sociable and didn't spend the entire time with their faces locked to their phones! Thank you, Sykes, for another lovely holiday.

About the location

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
