  • "I have marked comfort down for a specific reason."

Assuming you don't have a back problem then both the mattress and sofa are very comfortable. However, if like me, you do suffer from back issues then you will find there is insufficient support in either of them. Given that these are single storey units and advertise disability provision then the target market is likely to be elderly with ageing issues.. The very segment of the population that needs firmer support. This is meant to be constructive criticism for the owners who otherwise might find that repeat business is not as high as they anticipated.

  • "We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Beechwood cottage."

It was a lot more spacious than we expected which was super. It was immaculately clean, warm and had everything we needed for the week. The play area for the children was great and hearing the children playing with friends from the neighbouring cottages was so lovely. Wood Norton is a very quiet and beautiful village. Each day it was often a 30 minute to the beaches and areas we wanted to visit which was fine. We were so blessed with the weather and Norfolk truly is incredible to explore.

Lovely and spacious - great location and very organised arrival and departure instructions - very peaceful location, and whilst there are other people staying in the same courtyard area it is well laid out so that you don’t feel you are in other peoples space

Peace & quiet yet everything you need nearby. Ideal location to explore Norfolk and relax in the comfort of a home-from-home. This was our second stay in Beechwood and third stay in total (previously stayed in Sycamore) and already booked again for August!. Jane, the owner, is lovely. You will not be disappointed!

  • "We had a great stay in the cottage."

It was a last minute booking for us and we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious cottage. It is a very safe place for families, gated at the end of the village with its own playground. The interiors were a bit tired, mainly the bathrooms, but as a last minute find that was okay - and we'd go again, so not a deal breaker.

Very relaxing, a treat for my sisters 70th birthday. The cottage had everything you could want, although it was out in the country, it was not far from many beautiful places. The only downside was due to the Covid, everywhere was busy as people had stayed in the UK for their holidays. Car parking was at a premium.

We arrived after dark but Christmas lights lit up our way. Home-made buns were a pleasant surprise and went down well with our first cup of tea. The friendly owner called in to check that everything was ok and was always around to offer help and advice.

No steps to contend with and plenty of outside lighting if required. We stayed in November so were grateful for the outside lights, equally we were able to enjoy some wildlife...saw an owl and a hare what a treat. The barn was comfortable with plenty of storage, heating and hot water. Would stay again.

It was warm and and had everything to make a welcome brew with a cake to go with it. I had not expected the cottage to be so spacious. We booked the cottage to go to the Thursford extravaganza which came up to it’s marvellous best again. I really regret not booking it for longer. It is a most relaxing place. It is a place that lends itself for a friends or family gett together with the courtyard in the centre of the cottages.

  • "Overall the cottage was good a few small things that wouldn't take much would have made it perfect the twin bedroom with only one bedside table made it difficult for the elderly residents sleeping there without a bedside cabinet for a light and a drink whilst the overall cleanliness was good the patio widows were very dirty the cooker is old and takes ages for the oven to get hot and barely reaches temperature the hobs are also slow to react ."

The bedside lamps in the main room have passed their best and give out poor light as they are small although do the job I guess but a bigger lamp would have been nice.

  • "A note for Beechwood Cottage, Wood Norton is that a better shower head would be good as the one provided was very weak."

Also the dishwasher needed more salt, rinse aid and also leaked onto the floor. The bedroom next to the main bedroom could do with a bedside cabinet instead of a chair with a bedside light next to it. Touch lamps in all bedrooms would be helpful. Also bigger bath towels as you couldn't call them bath towels which were provided. Apart from the above we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "Very welcoming hosts and very receptive to sorting out any problems."

Beechwood is larger than the pictures would have you think, as it goes back a long way. We were a family of 6 plus a baby and there was ample room. The kitchen/lounge layout was great, providing a good community feel during pre and post meal times, the watching TV. The master bedroom was very large, the second bedroom was large and the third was typical double size. It is a warm cottage due to its recent building standards. Access to the site and cottage was easy, although being in Norfolk, it was 10 plus miles to anywhere of interest. We would recommend the Sculthorpe Community Nature Reserve and their Hawk and Owl Trust. Very easy access for wheelchairs etc and long flat walks with hides to watch the wild life. Also the faltish walk out on the Blakeney Nature reserve. Take the Back Lane turning by the Blakeney Church to go to the harbour side. We had a long walk and a good lunch at the harbour side hotel. Can't remember it's name.
