  • "Encil is a lovely homely cottage right at the heart of Beddgelert."

It looks small from the outside but is much bigger once you enter. Our group consisted of 4 adults and there was plenty of space for all our things. The sofas were comfy and relaxing. Everything you needed for a relaxing holiday was provided. The beds were comfortable and showers were always nice and hot. The kitchen is a lovely size and plenty of room for food storage and bags etc. The outside courtyard at the back is small but we loved having our breakfast out in the sun on the raised terrace, overlooking the wonderful views of the mountains. We would be very happy to stay at Encil again. Thankyou.

  • "We had a good time."

The only things we didn’t think was good enough was mop provided was really bad not even clean. We could just about use it to mop up mucky paws not adequate for a pet friendly cottage. The little sink in the bedroom was ok but the tap was massive for it. But despite the few small things it is a lovely cottage in a lovely location.

Could probably benefit from a washing machine though

Thanks for your feed back but it did state in the description that there is no washing machine but there is a clothes horse available to dry your clothes . Property Owner

  • "Our stay was lovely, the cottage was very well presented with the furniture and fire place creating a very cosy feeling."

The kitchen was well equipped and had lots of utensils at hand. Bedrooms were very spacious and beds were extremely comfortable. The main bathrooms shower was hot however drainage was slow and when leaving the shower on for too long would over fill the basin, the drain as well outside the backdoor was clogged and would fill over leaving the sinks waste outside the back door. We had a trouble opening the front door due to the key getting stuck in the lock so kept it locked for most of our stay. Apart from that we are hopeful and excited to return to Encil soon.

  • "A fantastic cottage right in the heart of the beautiful village of Beddgelert."

Super cosy and really clean, this cottage offered everything we were hoping for. The double bed was comfortable and the main shower was great. The log burner was a definite plus for the week we stayed, as the weather was pretty horrible! Perfect location for walkers. Only a couple of tiny things we would add to this property - a corkscrew/bottle opener, a few baking trays for the oven to cook sauages/bacon etc. on and a drying rack would have been really useful. There's no washing machine (as stated in the description) which wasn't an issue, but we got very wet due to the miserable weather, so somewhere easy to dry our clothes would have been useful. Also, the main bathroom gets very damp when the shower is used as there is no fan. We had a lovely stay and have already recommended this cottage to a few people. We will be returning in the future!

Thanks for your feed back we have now purchased a cork screw and baking trays. There is a clothes horse in the front bedroom to use for drying your clothes . Property Owner

We had an absolutely lovely time, your cottage is so cosy and fresh, we had trouble lighting the fire however I think that’s more down to our lack of skill

  • "We absolutely loved Encil cottage."

Was comfortable, and warm and the location was incredible. So many walks right on your doorstep. Encil was well equipped with everything we needed for our trip, I particularly liked the folder of walks, with print outs for you to take away. Would very much like to return in the summer!

  • "It was a nice cottage and very clean, a few points: could do with a dishwasher snd washing machine, the water wasn’t hot enough and no bath."

The main bed was tiny.. Overall though a good cottage in a great place, apart from the rain!!

Glad you had. Nice time, the main bed was a standard double bed anything bigger would not fit in the bedroom. Also it was stated that there was no washing machine or dishwasher or bath. Very sorry that the water was not hot enough, but glad you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Sue Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely comfortable stay at Encil Cottage."

Extra information folders a bonus and very useful for walks. Would suggest install washing machine, dish washer and bigger fridge/freezer as the one at present is very small. Top main bathroom taps on sink too far back and you knock knuckles on sink whilst trying to hand wash. Hot water for shower goes cold very quick and so you have to rush. Would love to have relaxed in Bath after long mountain walks but no bath installed. Also shower in bedroom we weren't feeling it as it makes bedroom and bedding feel damp. Sink in main bedroom cramped and shoved in corner so not practical. We would rather of wardrobes in main bedroom. However saying that cottage did have homely feel to it and very quirky which we loved. Throws an extra which we appreciated as leather couch cold and welcome pack also very handy idea. There is no parking outside cottage as its double yellows and bays opposite always full so we parked just down road. This was advertised though so not really a problem as we were aware beforehand. Cottage great for us for a long weekend however we would not stay longer unless updated facilities.

Thank you for your comments, but as you can appreciate it is a cottage, It was advertised that there was no washing machine, no dishwasher and no bath. As for the shower in the bedroom there is a fan to expel any damp feeling that may accrue during the shower. As you can appreciate it is a cottage and things are a lot smaller. But glad you had a nice time. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very clean and comfortable."

The facilities could be improved by having a washing machine and a drying line. Also, as this is a dog friendly property, it would be helpful to fit a side gate. Also the window in the main bathroom cannot be opened. Despite this, we loved the cottage and our stay and would definitely book again.

  • "The cottage was lovely and felt instantly at home."

Located right in the heart of beautiful Bedgellert and nestled on the mountain, it was perfect place to explore. Kitchen was airy, spacious with serene view, seating in the back garden/mountain was a great plus, living room cosy and bedrooms clean/airy. The only downsides were finding a parking and traffic on the street but I guess you can't have it all!

Love the extra touches such as provision of copies of local walks and the warm throw on the sofas.

  • "Great little cottage with enough facilities for self-catering."

Pot luck with parking although this was stipulated so not an issue. En suite toilet had windows in the door, but no blind on outside window, bedroom was light very early in the morning. Recycling bins available, but could not find a food bin. Beddgelert is a great central place to stay within Snowdonia.

  • "Just got back from a weeks stay at Encel cottage."

The cottage was very nice and a perfect base for a hike up Snowdon via the Rhyd Ddu path, Beddgelert Forrest walks and to get a few hikes in up the big hills towering over Beddgelert. Weather has been great this week so it was nice to be out in the sun but, equally as nice to get back to Encel at the end of the day! I'd recommend staying at Encel and will probably book again at some point this year and bring along my friend, who unfortunately couldn't make it this time even though I booked her in as my support bubble guest, as I took advantage of the good weather last minute. Even on my own I still enjoyed all the cracking walks Beddgelert has to offer and the comfort of Encel to come back to!

  • "We had a great break in Beddgelert and Encil is fantastically located there."

We explored the beauty of the surrounding countryside and mountainside. Encil is a really comfortable and a relaxing cottage with well thought out decor giving the true cottage experience. A bonus is that the owners have provided a folder of walks for varying ranges of ability. Myself, wife, 2 boys (5 & 8 years old) and Labrador Jasper really enjoyed it. Our mobile phone service is provided by O2 and we had no signal at all in Beddgelert however with the WiFi of the cottage and also the Beddgelert free WiFi we were still able to communicate with Wifi calling enabled on our phones if and when required. Although there is no off road parking we managed to park each day within 150m of the cottage and also managed to load and unload right outside the cottage on the double yellow lines for a short duration.
