  • "We had a brilliant time the house was everything we wanted and more."

  • "Lovely spacious well-equipped house at the edge of the village."

It suited our family group of 8 adults well. Comfy beds. As we didn't need to use the sofa bed in the sitting room some of us could stay up late watching the smart TV. It was warm so no need for a fire, and we enjoyed the conservatory even when it rained. My 90 year old Mum found the downstairs bedroom comfortable. It is a little walk with a zimmer frame through the hall and kitchen to the downstairs shower room so our folding commode was handy, and we took a suction grabrail for extra support in the shower room. Plenty of different places to sit downstairs and some furniture could be moved around. Loved the view of the mountains in the distance and horses in the field and the scent of the roses around the door. One of us spotted a red squirrel while cycling nearby, although not in the garden. We enjoyed sea swimming, beaches and cafes, nearby historic sites (the iron age village was magical), and nice evening walks to Red Wharf Bay. The Llangefni Dingle walk was even fairly doable with the wheelchair. We had a tasty meal at the Bull in Beaumaris one day but other days enjoyed eating in around the big dining table. We couldn't manage to get the bottom oven to work but we did roast food in the top one, and after reporting it we had a response from the owner who is trying to sort it out for future guests. The road is quite busy and requires care when turning out of the drive, but we didn't find the noise a problem. It is an old house and one area upstairs still seemed to be drying out following chimney work, but it felt airy and clean. Altogether a lovely week and I would book it again.

Thank you for lovely review of our house. We are really delighted that you enjoyed your stay particularly your mum. Glad you also found the lovely walks in the area. The bottom oven issue was just a miss-set timer. We checked it after you left on the Friday and re-set it, the instructions in the house do advise how to deal with re-setting the timer. The small area in the upper bedroom wall is now nearly completely dried out; because it’s an older house with much thicker walls than a modern build it can take a few months to finally dry out after an issue of this nature. Overall it seems you got the very best out of the area and the house and we look forward to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The property was ideal for the family holiday, the bedding and beds were excellent, the barbecue was great and the problem we had with the oven was quickly and efficiently rectified."

We were disappointed that the grass had not been cut, made it awkward for the children to play games outside. The fridge freezer was superb but a 2 slice toaster for up to 11 people was inadequate. Overall we had a lovely holiday and managed to get to the beach everyday.

Really happy you enjoyed the house. The grass was cut the first dry day after you left. We are restricted to cutting only on dry days, so its difficult fitting it in when there is only a few hours between changeovers. We try and cut the grass once a month which is the maximum recommended for gardens in rural areas because of the need to preserve local wildlife. Glad you mananged to get to the beaches every day, they are both really beautiful. Hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the property."

It was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfy. It was good to have the climbing frame for the younger children in our group and they all enjoyed the football table and darts board. It was also good to have a selection of games provided and we all enjoyed playing the herd mentality game! I felt the property was very nicely decorated and liked the wooden furniture. A couple of possible improvements might be mats or something in the kitchen as on a dull day the tiles felt very cold. Also a corner sofa in this area for more people to sit together chatting? Finally although there was a car charger it wasn’t used as apparently you needed to download an app and set up an account?

Hi Very glad you enjoyed your stay and your comments are appreciated. Regarding the car charger the use of an app is the only form of access that exists to control the usage. It takes a couple of minutes to download and is very easy to use. All our previous guests never had any difficulty using the app, many had it installed already. We look forward to welcoming you back . Marcus and Lena Property Owner

The house was beautiful and so cosy. Everything you need is there. Beds are probably the comfiest I’ve slept on. Really got a good nights sleep! (I’ve not slept properly since being home!). We often caught glimpses of Mrs Bushy Tail, the red squirrel who visited every morning. Fab place! Thank you!

Thank you for your really lovely comments, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our beds are from a small hand made company and are really the most comfortable we could find. We all, including Mrs Bushey Tail, hope you will come back soon. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from a stay here with family (5adults and 2children) and the house is beautiful."

It’s well decorated and lots of lovely pieces of furniture add to the overall comfortable feel of the property. The beds are very comfortable and the fields and outlook are really pleasant. A few things to mention, it states there’s an open fire but we were only left 3 logs for 3 nights, no matches and logs locally were £12. Had I known that these were not provided I would have brought my own which are cheaper where I live. I didn’t find a hairdryer so take your own and the car charger is not free- the listing doesn’t make this clear. Seating in the living room only seats 7 so if you do arrive with 11 guests as it accommodates, you won’t all fit into the living space with the TV but plenty of seating elsewhere in the house. I’d read a few reviews about the oven, I found it easy enough to use and the hob was great but I do think you’d struggle to cook a roast dinner for example with limited roasting dishes and it did take longer to cook than my fan oven at home so maybe could do with an upgrade soon. I took a lasagne I’d made at home and 30 mins later was still cold in the middle on 180 so it does take longer than you’d expect. We visited the beach, found a public footpath from Traeth to Red Wharf Bay which was an easy walk even for the kids (5 & 3) but pleasant and we had good weather. We also visited the local nature reserve which is great for younger visitors. Despite the smaller issues, it did not affect our stay as a family and we enjoyed the area and the overall comfort of the house.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the house. We are glad to hear that you appreciated our efforts to provide guests with the most comfortable beds, nice furniture and interiors, children's areas, gardens, etc. We are of course concerned with any issues you may have had and will always attempt to put these right. However, regarding the logs left for the fire, it is logistically impossible to provide every family with enough logs for every day of the stay. We have a clear explanation on the page in the house that the logs there are just to get you started and then you should get your own log supply according to your own needs. We had to comply with a list of provisions given to us by our agents Menai including everything we have to supply and the hairdryer was not part of that list. Concerning the seating in the lounge. We do show clear photos of this room on the web page, we have managed to fit the maximum number of seats into the room that the space allowed. There are as you say lots of chairs and accent chairs dotted around the house and these can always be moved into the lounge by our guests if the need arises. There is also a second TV in another room which allows to split channel preferences by different age groups and rooms at the time. Regarding the car charger, it does say clearly on our Menai web page that there is a small charge for its use which just covers the cost of using it. This follows the advice we were given when we set the charger up. Glad you found the oven easy, we have resisted putting in a more sophisticated oven as it just adds complications for our guests when they try to use it. Most important of course we are glad you had a good time and that you all enjoyed your visit. We would love to welcome you again. Property Owner

  • "On the whole it was good value for money, but there were a few things that could have been better."

    1. We had problems with the cooker. Every time we used the oven we found we had to reset the timer which was really fiddly.2. There were not enough cushions to get comfortable on the sofa especially if you don't have long legs. 3.we thought the television was small and really difficult to programme. 4.Felt very exposed at night because there were no curtains in the kitchen. We loved the house and its features , the beds were very comfortable and the garden was was great for the grand children. The games shed was a real success with all of us. In all we had a great holiday and would book with you again.

We delighted to hear that you would be happy to book with us again, we are looking forward to see you again. There are loads of extra cushions in the conservatory and you welcome to use them anywhere. The cooker timer can be fiddly but there are instructions in the house guide book. The TV is a 43 inch Samsung, the size was recommended by the professional designer to suit the distance to the viewing point. All modern TV's are similarly complicated to use. But again instructions are in the house guide book. As for the curtains in the kitchen windows, the only living creatures on that side of the house are the two horses in the next huge field, I hope they were not too embarrassed... Property Owner

  • "Beautiful and spacious property."

Beautiful garden and views. Plenty of parking space. Seating in kitchen dining area could be more comfortable as we used the living room as an extra bedroom so another sofa would have been welcome. Shower in downstairs bathroom needs some attention. Extremely comfortable beds. Well placed for beach and local walks.

Very glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the info re the shower. We have been over to the house ourselves and changed the shower hose and everything is now working fine. The sofa-bed is designed to be turned back into a sofa during the day time with very little effort. Its a simple mechanism and the wicker hamper is provided to store the bedding. The lounge then has plenty of seating space for a large family, as well as the conservatory that has plenty of extra sofas and chairs. The photos and explanations on the website do illustrate very clearly all the seating areas around the house The beaches nearby are exceptional and there are lots of lovely walks we absolutely agree.. • "Beautiful and spacious cottage in an excellent location."

From the moment we stepped in, we felt at home. Clean and well equipped with wonderful views, loved the little touches and attention to detail. Plenty of parking space for a joint family trip. The multiple twin-bedrooms were a huge positive as these can be hard to find. All too often only large beds to sleep two whereas our older /adult children naturally wanted a single bed each. These twin beds are versatile and can be joined for those who prefer one king size. Two beaches are in walking distance (Benllech and Red Wharf) with a third (Traerddur Bay) a drive away. All were wonderful. Beaumaris is only ten minutes away, a quaint little town with a castle and wonderful views, a really lovely place to visit. Ribride was also a short distance away and a must do. There are multiple tours with excellent skippers full of knowledge about the area along with its history. We did day trips from the cottage to Mt Snowdon as well as Aber and Swallow waterfalls. We also went to Zip World. This place was perfect for our extended family’s needs offering a suitable location for our multiple interests whether a quiet stroll on the beach or more strenuous hikes/mountain biking and other activities. It was possible to fit so much in one day and returning home to a comfortable cottage was perfect. The property management company and the owners are extremely helpful and caring. Have already recommended this cottage to friends.

Thank you for your kind and generous feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed our house so much. Its true the area has a great deal to offer. Snowdonia and Anglesey are both very beautiful. In particular the beaches are unspoilt and very attractive, and certainly not over-crowded. We have done the rib ride with grand-children and absolutely agree its an exhilarating trip. • "A lovely spacious house."

Numerous sightings of the red squirrels at the feeding station which was an unexpected bonus. There was plenty of space for young children to play and all their toys. Very good quality fixtures and fittings. Parked 4 cars easily. A good position for visiting various attractions in the area. Can recommend the Puffin Island boat trip from Beaumaris - seals, porpoises and puffins. Overall we had a great week at Neuadd-wen. This was an extended family holiday and we needed 4 double bedrooms which was one of the attractions of this property. The listing for the bedrooms is a little misleading as they are not zip and link single beds although the bases do link together but no alternative bedding is available. Also it is not really a walk away from the beach with young children and all the associated paraphernalia - but there are 2 good car parks by Benllech beach. Can recommend this property

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are very pleased that you and all your group had a lovely time and enjoyed what Neuadd Wen could offer. Regarding the beds, all our single beds in double rooms can be linked together by the guest. These beds are prepared and premade with single bedding, as a standard arrangement to provide the maximum versatility. However, these beds could be pulled together and linked in a fixed position if guests wish to do so turning them into super king-size beds. The bedding provided however stays the same. So, each user of the bed enjoys his own duvet. The nearest beach is Red Wharf Bay beach and is a short 18-minute walk away and we do mention that in the description. Whilst perhaps with little children and all the associated paraphernalia its more convenient to take the short 5-minute drive to Benllech beach with 2 good car parks and spaces always available. Both beaches are very beautiful. We hope to see you again soon . Property Owner

From the moment we walked through the door, we felt at home. The children’s play area was a great addition and the family watching for the red squirrels (which turn up every day) adds to the excitement. There are sea views from the front windows and views of snowdonia from the back. If it’s a clear day you can find yourself lost in the kitchen, bewitched by their sheer majesty! Benllech has everything that you need for a holiday, small supermarkets, pubs, an amazing chippy, great ice cream parlour, local sea food.. it’s a fantastic location. The bay itself is dramatic; the beach clean and enormous. Beaumaris is just 10 mins away if you fancy a quaint seaside town, worth booking the more popular restaurants. Bangor is not much further if you need anything from a city (including a huge Tesco). Anyway, back to the house: All the fixtures and fittings were a very high standard, huge fridge, dining table, well stocked kitchen, nice conservatory, good furniture, games room in the garden, beds all very comfy (they pull together to make king size). The road is quite loud so maybe bring some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper or get up and enjoy everything that the island has to offer! Thank you for the most amazing, relaxing stay!
