Really tastefully furnished & top quality facilities. The cottage felt the perfect mix of character & modern. The hot tub was just fabulous! Perfect base for exploring Chester & surrounding area. It was so lovely to be welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco and all the fresh flowers around the house. Gaynor really does think of everything! The cottage is immaculately clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need, really lovely comfy bed and the hot tub was amazing in a really charming private garden which is a real sun trap. The cottage is in a fantastic location, a minute walk to the river and 20 minutes walk to the city and grosvenor park, couldn’t ask for a better location. It’s also only a 10 minute drive to Chester zoo so really convenient for a day out seeing the animals! Only regret we have is not staying for longer but we will definitely be back to make up for it!

The host was great even before we got there. We had all the necessary information few days before. We were told that the place was ready few hours earlier if we needed it. The Cottage was spotless on arrival. Located a minute walk from the river or 15 minutes from the city centre. There is a nice cafe for the breakfast at the top of the road. If you prefer to make your own, the kitchen in the cottage is well equipped for cooking. Hot tub outside was great addition and probably a main selling point. We had a really great stay and will hopefully come back again. Would recommend to anyone.

The kitchen well designed for easy use and very well equipped with everything. Bed really comfortable. The cottage itself had everything you could possibly need plus more, it was clean and beautifully presented. The hot tub was on my wish list and I’m so glad it was as it was amazing and the plus side is that the house isn’t overlooked at all so it was very private. My only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay. The cottage was exactly as described and was so lovely and cosy, even when the weather was wet we felt able to relax inside which was a bonus. The owner was fantastic with communication and all the little personal touches around the cottage added to the honely feel. Parking information was possibly a little out dated as the car park recommended for overnight parking seems to have changed the ticket machines and as such we couldn't find a way to park overnight without having to get up at 6.59am when the parking charges kicked back in, thankfully we always managed to park on the road so it wasn't a problem.

  • "An absolute gem of a cottage!"

Just about everything you could want for self-catering in the kitchen, from crockery to cutlery, to pots and pans. The island makes eating in the kitchen a must, as well as providing the luxury to sit down whilst cooking. A large size fridge and freezer means you have plenty of room to store fresh or frozen food at the right temperature. Those little must haves are in abundance - hooks on bathroom doors and by the hot tub to hang gowns and towels on, shelves in the shower cubicle to put requirements on, bedside tables, tables in sitting room for those relaxing drinks, etc. If anything is amiss, Gaynor is on hand almost immediately to put things right. She is also very open to receiving feedback as to how she could improve the cottage further. The hot tub in the sheltered garden is perfect and was well used. The cottage itself is on a busy road at times but within walking distance of Chester town centre, which can be reached by roadway or canal towpath. There is no carparking space with the cottage, but plenty of free, unrestricted parking on the road nearby. The position of the cottage does not detract from its suitability at a good price. We would definitely recommend a visit.

  • "Excellent location, fantastic cottage for a couple."

The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. A welcome bottle of Fiz, with a decanter of sherry are great touches. Plus milk in the fridge and kitchen necessities ie salt, pepper, cooking oil, tea bags, coffee etc in the cupboard meant you didn't need to rush out to the supermarket asap, also washing up liquid, and hand washing soap, plus shower gel, infact all these little touches made you feel like you'd arrived at a 5star hotel

About the location

CHESTER

Liverpool 17 miles; Manchester 36 miles.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
