  • "A lovely little cottage just outside the walls of the town."

We took loads of stuff with us that we brought back without using because the place was so well appointed. Nicely decorated and clean and tidy. Handily placed for exploring the town and farther afield. Easy drive onto A 55, from where lots of interesting places can be visited. Good communication with owner to help us over minor problem.

We used two takeaways that are 5 minutes away. . The extra touch of milk and biscuits left were very much appreciated. From this location we travelled to various places in Wales. Highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing stay.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, so glad you enjoyed our cottage and Conwy :) Property Owner

It was great having the log fire and being within 5 minutes walk of the centre of Conwy. We would book again but see that prices have increased substantially for 2024.

they need covering with a carpet or securing, as they make a loud noise, especially through the night. also, I attempted to contact the numbers that were given to us, regarding that the washing machine was full of laundry. After trying to talk to the person they turned their phones off. If there had been a bigger problem. we could not contact them.

Thank you for your comments. I apologise for any upset during your stay. Our aim is to please and make sure all our customers have a lovely stay at the cottage. We have tried to keep the 150 year old cottage as traditional as possible. I hope you would consider returning and will call you for a chat. Property Owner

The only small drawback for us personally was the creaky floorboards, if 1 of us was awake in the night then all 3 of us were. Had a great stay, would definitely visit Conwy again

The cottage is in a fantastic location, right next to the castle walls. Comfort is five-star, cleanliness is five-star and amenities are five-star. Conway is the jewel of North Wales, really charming. There are mountain walks on your doorstop, quite literally. This made for a wonderful holiday. David and Debbie, it was a bonus to meet you and thanks for letting, "our Rita" join us on holiday too. She loved the real log burner. We would love to stay at Y Bwthyn again. • "The sofa wasn't very comfortable - bottom cushions kept creeping out and not very substantial."

The property listing said that it included parking for one car but we soon realised that this parking space wasn't ours and that other people sometimes park in it - leaving you with nowhere to park if all spaces taken.

Thank you for your feedback; a new upgraded sofa is being delivered shortly. Parking is allocated for all residents of the 3 cottages, Property Owner

  • "A fantastic cottage and a truly great week."

The cottage was very clean but a little tatty in places with a touch of damp, which in no way detracted from the experience ( and what you might expect from a small Welsh cottage?) Everything that you might want is provided and not rationed as often it can be. Our stay was a little marred by unexpected building work in the next door property and a skip, but negotiated throughout the week without major issues to be fair. A brilliant location, but up a moderate hill, and so not for the infirm or someone who does not want to walk up a hill at the end of the day. A larger number of brilliant walks easily accessible and lots to do. A vast array of pubs and restaurants to cater for all tastes although booking is advisable.

Delighted you had a fantastic vacation in our cottage. Unfortunately, we were not pre-warned of the next door building work, and therefore unable to notify any guests. The cottage is a 200 year old property, and does not suffer from any damp; we've installed a dehumidifier to address any condensation during warm spells. Property Owner

We had a great stay and it is very well situated for walking down to Conwy and the marina and surrounding areas, if I had any gripe it would be that the two seater settee is not the most comfortable but I would highly recommend the cottage and look forward to going again

Well equipped & thoughtfully presented. Good shower, comfy beds, good Wi-Fi & parking no problem. Milk & Welsh cakes on arrival appreciated for the first cuppa, thank you. Our dog settled no problem as we took his bed, towels, toys and bowls to help him feel at home. He liked the enclosed back garden for sitting on nice days with us. Excellent location. Loved Conwy, plenty to see & do. Very dog friendly. We walked the walls, explored Conwy lots of walks along water front or out the back. We had lovely lunch with our dog at the Bank of Conwy. Visited Llandudno walked the pier and promenade & had chips & ice cream. Visited Anglesey Beaumaris. Betsy coed and walked to Aira Falls. The Cheese Room and Conwy Bakery very good too. Would recommend & would love to go back again.

I dropped a star simply because of the stairs. The banister only covers half of the staircase which could be remedied by another full length banister on the opposite side of the staircase...My size 12 feet didn't help either. Otherwise no complaints at all, just a very short walk down the hill into the town.

Settle down in front of the television with a sumptuous spot on the sofa to enjoy a movie marathon, warming your toes with the glow of the rustic log burning stove in the cooler months.

If you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, step outside and enjoy a leisurely seat in the peaceful setting of the rear south facing courtyard, toasting a glass of fizz under the watchful eye of the striking Conwy Castle.

When sleep calls, climb the stairs to the first floor and prepare for bed with a rinse in the contemporary family shower room, stylishly tiled throughout, before retiring to either of the two well-presented bedrooms to rest your head; snuggle up under the covers in the double room or enjoy an intimate escape in the single room, framing views of the historic castle walls in the near distance.

A short walk from your doorstep will bring you to the imposing medieval fortress of Conwy Castle, where you can marvel at the remarkable 13th-century architecture before climbing the restored spiral staircases in its impressive towers, offering views across the rooftops towards the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia).

Be sure to stop at the iconic landmark of The Smallest House In Great Britain for an obligatory photo before heading to indulge in a spot of pub grub with a breath-taking view across the marina at the popular harbourside eatery, Mulberry.

Those avid golfers can tee off at the local courses, including Maesdu golf course, North Wales golf course and Conwy golf course, each providing a wonderful backdrop for a round.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
