"We had a lovely stay in the cottage."
Great location, everything you could need was provided in the cottage. Parking available outside too which made things easy. Criccieth is lovely too, a great base for exploring.
Hi Christine. We are so pleased to hear that you had a lovely stay and that you had everything you needed. We hope you come and stay again

"The cottage was homely and well equipped."
It's clearly well loved by the owners, who have put lots of thought into many of the things that make a good holiday home. Extras such as the welcome pack and games were great.
Location is good, as only a short walk to the train station, beaches and high street. Local grocery stores are a bit limited although there is a bakery and butcher as well as cafes, chip shops and pubs. Y Maes is well worth a visit.
It would be well worth installing an air-tight inspection cover in the conservatory as the utility area smelled a bit of sewage when the windows were left shut and sometimes wafted in to the living area unless kept well ventilated. Both of our daughters complained about how uncomfortable the bunk bed mattresses are with springs causing lumps and bumps.
As others have commented, the property is compact but we, as a family of 4, were happy with the space. Particularly, as we'd spent the previous few days in a campervan. We had a very enjoyable stay. It was a great base for exploring the Llyn peninsula and Snowdonia. A walk up Yr Eifl gives spectacular views and is highly recommended.
Hi Ed
Firstly thank you for being so understanding at the start of your stay with us. We are in communication with Welsh Water about the inspection cover in the utility area so hopefully that problem will be resolved very soon!!
We are so pleased that you had everything you needed at Menuchah... our aim is to make it a home from home. However we have duly noted the comments about bunk bed mattresses.
Thank you for taking the time to feed back, and are glad that you had an enjoyable stay...please come again!!

"We enjoyed our stay at Menuchah, the kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was comfortable, apart from the sofa cushions which had very little filling."
The stairs were quite narrow and steep which could have been hilighted in the description. The bed was comfortable but the mats in the bedroom were curled up and a slight trip hazard. The shower was good, but the toilet seat didn't fit the pan, also the lino in the bathroom was coming away from the floor and was a trip hazard. The description said parking for one car, but this was not always available. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Keith and Carol.
Hi Keith. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Menuchah and that you would stay again. We really appreciate your detailed feedback and have noted the points you raised. Thanks.

"We have had a number of holidays to Dave and Mary's cottage."
It is just wonderful! So clean and modernised inside. It is the perfect little get away for some time by the sea. The sunshine floods through the cottage during the afternoons and into the evening, perfect for if you want to eat a family meal together in the living/dining room or just to sit and rest. There is just incredible local treasures to find, and stunning coastlines. Dave and Mary couldn't be more helpful and kind, we can't recommend this lovely little cottage more highly to those to want to visit Criccieth!

"On arrival front of cottage scruffy with weeds, window boxes also dead with weeds!"
No welcome package, (1st time ever on Sykes cottage) the room seems over cluttered and no cupboard for our food we had bought. The tiny conservatory at the back was full of tiny flies and the manhole cover banged when going to back door!
TV not working, no folder with details of how things worked within the cottage or where the washer was? the fridge is tiny with big freezer section above,
if any problem, no phone number! had to call Sykes who where extremely helpful and contacted the owner. Who in turn tried to explain how to get the TV on! still struggling, finally sorted the following afternoon! Meaning, having to wait in the cottage, instead of going to the beach! One thing you really expect is Comfort, sad to say this was completely missing here, the sofa under the stairs, when I sat on it I felt like I was sitting on the floor! Really struggling to get up off this sofa, the second one near TV was so hard and when 2 people were sitting on it , you sunk towards the centre! and again uncomfortable. Checking under cushions this sofa is a sofa bed! The stairs are high and narrow step and steep, prayed the rope on the wall was strong! The double bed was hard as nails! was in agony morning after, at this time I wanted to go home!!! We ended up sleeping on top of the duvet! but still awful weeks sleep! Plus a huge box at bottom of bed (why, taking up a lot space! empty space under the bunk beds) The shower unit could do with a good bleaching!
Criccieth is lovely and we had the best weather, but would not be rebooking Menuchah cottage, really spoilt our week’s holiday.
Hello Colleen,
We are very sorry that you obviously did not enjoy your time at No. 3.
We are unsure as to why there was no welcome package as this is something we have arranged with our cleaner and we are also very sorry that there was the problem with the TV. In retrospect perhaps we should have insisted on coming over on Saturday evening to resolve the problem rather than waiting as you agreed until someone local was available on the Sunday afternoon.
All we can do is apologise again as we did when we saw you at the end of the week.
Yours
Mary & Dave

"TV complicated for people not used to using a Now box."
Gas cooker in rental accommodation not ideal. Bunk beds unsuitable for adults and uncomfortable to sleep on. Also undersheet dirty on top bunk. Room very bijoux. Staircase dangerous for older people especially at night using bathroom. Lean-to had leak when raining hard. One sofa rather low and uncomfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, with both utensils and tableware. Basic food provisions came in handy. However, vacuum cleaner did not work properly. An attractively furnished cottage in a great position close to castle, beach and shops.
Hi Heather,
We are really sorry that you did not enjoy your time at No. 3 as much as we would have hoped you would. We apologise regarding the NowTV box which a regular guest kindly donated, we had not had a chance to look at it ourselves since we live in Manchester, and there is now information about it in the cottage.
We are unclear as to why there would have been dirty bedding as our cleaner is very thorough.
We will be replacing the sofa in October when we stay ourselves, We hope you would consider coming back and trying it out! :)
Yours
