  • “Y Beudy is in an easy to find location, just off a main road, but despite its proximity it’s very quiet.”

The views across the mountains are stunning and with the weather constantly changing it’s fascinating to watch. The cottage itself is well equipped, with comfortable beds and two bathrooms. It’s a little chilly there in November, whilst the underfloor heating is good, it wasn’t the easiest to regulate. There is a log burning stove which gives off a lot of heat of cold nights. The mobile phone signal is quite poor and the internet connection is not reliable, but it’s nice to be away ...

The mobile phone signal is quite poor and the internet connection is not reliable, but it’s nice to be away from the constant communications. Contacting the owner was simple and he was quick to respond to messages. The shops in Criccieth are close by down a narrow country lane. If heading to Criccieth it’s worth booking the restaurants in advance as they do seem to book up. If you like castles there are plenty within driving distance. An excellent base to explore that part of Wales from.

Ymwlch Bach Cottages

Criccieth 3 miles. These fantastic holiday homes are in a lovely rural location on a 96 acre working farm, three miles from Criccieth. There are two delightful, late 19th century stone barn conversions, both successfully converted to combine original character with modern décor and furnishings, including woodburning stoves. The traditional Victorian farmhouse has been cleverly split in two, and one half has been carefully converted to create self-contained, well-equipped accommodation; a welcoming mix of antique furnishings and modern fixtures and fittings. All the properties offer panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park and are in a central position for walking, cycling (the National Cycle Route is within 60 yards of the cottages), watersports or fishing. There is also easy access to wonderful beaches at nearby Criccieth, Morfa Bychan and the whole of the Llyn Peninsula. Enjoy medieval castles, the mountain railway, National Trust properties, lakes and waterfalls. Pwllheli, just 12 miles away, is home to the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre, hosting events and exhibitions throughout the year. Three lovely properties set amidst stunning mountainous scenery!
