    Owners are helpful and contactable. Great location for walks into town centre (uphill coming back) and a stone throw away from Plas Newydd (large estate with lovely walking routes). Ideal base for visiting Chirk, Pontcysyllte Viaduct, Horseshoe Falls etc.

  • "What a lovely place to stay."

    Very light and well equipped. We took my dad who couldn't get upstairs so having a downstair bedroom and wet room was a real boon for us. I would highly recommend a stay at 25 Maes Collen. It's only a 5mins walk down to the town. We took dad down in car and the car park is in the middle of town. There is a lot to do here... Steam train and Horse drawn canal barge are a must.

  • "Absolutely wonderful property in a fantastic location."

    We had incredible nightly walks along (and even in) the River Dee which is less the 10 minutes walk away. Brilliant eateries in walking distance. The only real problem we had was the surveillance cameras located in the garden and garage. Bit weird. It's a shame because we otherwise, definitely would have booked again.

  • "Great little house with lots of mod cons to make you feel at home."

    Modern, fresh decor and lots of areas to relax. We ate out most of the time but the kitchen had lots of utensils and cookware and a great oven and microwave, so cooking wouldn't have been an issue. The dishwasher and washing machine were a bonus too. We wished we'd brought an extra towel each as the lack of drying areas meant we had to use damp towels-just a very small nit pick really. It's in a great location-a short 10 to 15 minutes walk to the town, it's in a quiet location with stunning views all around. It has a lovely back garden area for sunny evenings. We all loved the house and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Llangollen.

    It was a treat to wake up to the view of Dinas Bran Castle and to see amazing cloud inversions throughout the valley. The house is spotless and so cosy I struggled to leave after a month's stay.

    The property is in excellent condition and very well furnished. It was a pleasure to stay there. The rear garden is well designed and had an outdoor table with chairs. The drive took both our cars. The house is in an excellent location and it was easy to walk down into Llangollen even if there is a slight hill on the return. Lovely views from the front of the property.

    We were a party of three generations and the property suited us all. It was clean and well equipped and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful about the check in arrangements. I am sure we will look to stay again

Ruthin 15 miles; Chester 25 miles.

The beautiful Vale of Llangollen, with its dramatic mountain backdrop and boulder-strewn River Dee is the setting for this pretty tourist town, internationally famous for its Musical Eisteddfod. Explore the green valley by steam train or canal boat, or take an exhilarating walk up to Castell Dinas Brân, high above the town, in order to enjoy the breathtaking view. Llangollen offers a good range of pubs and restaurants, as well as many interesting shops. Keep entertained with an exhilarating trip whitewater rafting down the River Dee, followed by an adventurous Mountain Bike ride in Llandegla, or for a more leisurely experience, unwind with a relaxing afternoon in one of the local spas! The National Trust properties of Chirk Castle and Erddig are within easy driving distance, while a day-long car trail can take you to visit six of the ‘Seven Wonders of Wales’.
