    "Impossible to find with given directions, needs better signage."

    Overall impression is that the cottage is grubby - flies on window ledges, lots of cobwebs, kitchen table chewed, microwave and oven dirty, needed to wash coffee pot and some crockery and cutlery before use. Instructions out of date - text owner to ask for heating to be remotely switched on - told not necessary as can control in the cottage. General cottage in a state of poor presentation eg chipped paint on kitchen units, walls etc 2 days after leaving cottage- received text from owner at 10pm asking us to put the rubbish out. Note from previous guest in guest book stating they had took their rubbish home as requested by the owner. Garden is dilapidated. Beds comfortable with clean bedding. Overall the cottage does not feel like a holiday stay - it was uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

    I’m so sorry to read how disappointed you were with your stay at Ysgubor Wen. The heating can be controlled remotely but I explained to you that it was offline for me (someone had disconnected it from the WiFi) and so I encouraged you to use the manual dial so you had control. Your other feedback is noted. The interior decorating is due for October and I have passed on your comments to our cleaning team to ensure standards are raised. Many of our guests return because they find it a magical place where their children enjoy the large wild garden but, again, work is scheduled for autumn after a busy summer and your feedback is appreciated. Ysgubor Wen is a lovely, detached home resting on the outskirts of Llanrwst.

With ample off-road parking and close by amenities, it is an ideal base for friends and families looking to explore Conwy and the countryside of Wales.

Be welcomed into a spacious sitting room with a glowing woodburning stove to warm your feet beside, settled into a characterful stone chimney.

When mealtimes call, the kitchen/diner is a stylish space to cook up a storm using the ample amenities available, and here there is a dining table where guests can indulge in a hearty meal over a glass of fizz, whilst the handy utility takes care of your laundry.

There are four well-presented bedrooms to catch your rest in, including two doubles, a ground-floor double, and a bunk, serviced by a bathroom and ground-floor shower room.

Outside, picnic on the lawn before heading out to explore the local area.

Resting close to the amenities of Llanrwst, find a convenience store for all of your holiday essentials, as well as a selection of eateries, pubs, and riverside walks.

Llanrwst rests on the outskirts of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and is therefore ideal for birdwatching, hiking, mountain biking, watersports, and wild swimming.

There are many beautiful walks throughout the local area, including those atr Aber Falls, Carnedd Llewelyn, Rhaeadr Y Parc Mawr, Fairy Falls Waterfall, and Glyder Fawr.

For a day at the seaside, head over to Conwy where there is an impressive castle, RSPB reserve with a café and walks, and a beach, or spend an afternoon browsing quaint villages such as Betws-y-Coed.

There is simply so much to be explored with a stay at Ysgubor Wen.

Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales's most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
