  • "We had a lovely stay at Dinas Noddfa."

The house is situated in a great location with fantastic views over the lake to the hills/mountains beyond. The house was spotlessly clean with a gorgeous kitchen and comfortable beds. Each bedroom has a lovely large ensuite bathroom. The living room has a wood fired stove which was lovely after a day out walking! The location was perfect for access to walks and to attractions such as Zip World, Caernarfon and Conwy castles and Portmeirion. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

Nice touch to have cake, milk and fresh flowers. Everyone in the family loved their stay, I have recommended to friends and family and will try to come again ourselves.

  • "Dinas Noddfa is a fantastic house in a superb location."

The house was beautifully presented and has obviously been recently re-decorated throughout to a very high standard. It was also very clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a lovely full size range cooker. The breakfast and dining rooms both have great views over Llyn Dinas, All three ensuite bedrooms were of a good size with comfortable beds and also great views over the lake. The property has a path down to the lake and a small slipway which allowed us to go paddle boarding straight from house. All in all an excellent stay. Only a couple of small niggles; we would have liked some robe hooks on the back of the bathroom doors and the WIFI, although fast, didn't reach all of the rooms.

Beautiful scenery. Need to use car as road can be busy to walk on. Local walks around hill sides and only 30 mins drive to Porthmadog.

  • "The house is very well furnished and equipped and has outstanding views over the lake in a quiet part of Snowdonia."

Lovely walks on the doorstep. We had a great time and it was always lovely to come back to such a comfortable house. Very spacious indeed. Would thoroughly recommend. A few comments about the listing: - all the bedrooms have an ensuite bath, and two have a separate shower unit as well. Downstairs there is a shower room with loo and basin. Your listing says 'ensuite shower' which does not imply a bath to me. In fact I thought that a bath was downstairs. So in fact it was all much better than expected. So you are probably underselling this - having a proper bath is very important for my wife! - there is no payphone that we saw - your driving instructions were very accurate, but I think you should say to not follow sat nav. The postcode directs you to a field about a mile away and directed us down a very narrow track and away from the main roads. We all popped the postcode in satnav and got lost. - the road is right in front of and below the house and you may want to mention this. It was generally reasonably quiet but occasionally noisy. - it's a shame the house in now some 30% more expensive for next year!

Wow. This property is in such an amazing position. Has it all. The most wonderful view of the lake, mountains and great facilities...and my dream kitchen. Thank you for the cake and milk provided and logs to light the fire. Having a fridge freezer in the utility room as well as a fridge in the kitchen would be a big bonus for a bigger family visit. We had a great holiday. Much appreciated. Would recommend it totally. We were sad to say goodbye

  • "Dinas Noddfa has everything going for it - brilliant location on Lllyn Dinas with wonderful views, exceptional facilities, very comfortable, beautifully appointed with everything that's needed on your holiday."

It would benefit from a landline (incoming calls only) as there is no mobile network in the location, and the pillows are lumpy!

The wooden double bed creaked a lot with just turning over but was comfortable. The sofa could do with changing but other than that it was amazing. Would definitely love to return

  • "Absolutely beautiful house with postcard views over the lake!"

! The house is very spacious and has everything you need! The bedroom are all spacious with lovely en-suites, the hallway is very impressive when you first enter, the kitchen is spacious and has all cooking equipment you'd need, either side of the kitchen there is a lovely dining room and lounge on the other side - every room, including the 3 bedrooms all overlook the lake which is really nice! The location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding areas! Beddgelert is just 10 minutes down the road and has lovely pubs & cafes for food, as well as amazing walks and cycling routes. We took our bikes and rode from the house most days - the lake has a suitable path for bikes as well as walking. I'd definitely recommend this house - we stayed as a family with young children and the owners provided us with a highchair and travel cot. Thank you for a great stay! We'll be booking again for next year!

  • "What a fabulous location and views."

Everything we wanted was provided and we wanted for nothing. Very comfortable including we think new towels. I would definitely recommend this house but have to agree with other reviews that the windows in and out were filthy with fly dirt inside which was a real shame and just poor housekeeping. The outside windows were cleaned on our last day so too late for us but good for the next guests. We would visit again.

  • "One of the expectations was that the views were great."

The windows were so dirty that you could barely see them clearly! There is no mobile reception and you state there is a phone for incoming calls - there was no phone on the premises. A dishwasher provided with only two dishwashing tablets to cater for up to six people foe a week? We, as you know, have rented several of your properties and this is one we would NOT recommend. Basics, or what, I consider as basic were not provided. No kitchen roll, no soap or toilet accessories upstairs. The towels had seen better days and only two were a good size. The only casserole dish was a very old Pyrex one. There was no was you could have set a smart table eg for Christmas. All in all a disappointing experience BUT we did have good weather. Garden furniture uncomfortable.

A short break is a bit pricey when compared to a week stay. Love the house location and lakeside view! Bedrooms comfortable and lashings of hot water for that soak after a day in the mountains! If they really wanted to top out on this accommodation I’d like a more comfortable sofa and chairs and larger TV. We will visit again. Thanks, Paul

View from the house is incredible / property is spacious , beautifully furnished and warm!! Four well fitted bathrooms/ shower rooms with plenty of hot water which is great when you have been out walking all day! The road to the front of the property did not detract from the stunning location - we are already planning our next visit!

  • "Beautiful and spacious cottage."

It lies quietly and isolated on the slope of the mountain with no neighbours. However, it is well located to visit Wales with plenty of nearby (less than half an hour drive) walks both in the mountains (e.g. Snowdon) and at the shores or beaches at the sea. You have a nice view on Llyn Dinas from all rooms and most notably from the breakfast corner. The interior was clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The internet connection is not very good. You are able to use smartphone apps and do limited downloads, but browsing websites on a laptop was very slow. After mentioning this to Menai Holidays, they contacted the telecom provider and during my stay new hardware was delivered, but not yet installed. So I can't comment on how the quality of the connection will be improved. We enjoyed our stay at Dinas Noddfa very much.

  • "Lovely home in ideal location."

Only let down by cleaning issues: Windows internally and externally in need of a clean along with entrance porch - full of cobwebs. Whole interior is in need of a deep clean (look past initial impressions). Lots of dust & dirt out of site (out of mind), Examples - fireplace, tops of shelves, drapes, Grill pan and cooking tins unwashed.

  • "Beautiful, well-appointed house in excellent location."

However experience spoiled by poor housekeeping. No kindling for fire so unable to light one. Spoke to member of Menai Cottages staff next day (Saturday 24th March) who said they would contact housekeeper and get back to us. Heard nothing, no kindling arrived so had to buy own. Also, several issues with equipment and general cleanliness in kitchen. Information pack for guests was very poor - not what we’d expect in this standard of property. Left detailed comments in guest book. Pictures available if required.

The layout was just what we wanted. Kitchen fully stocked, views tremendous and open fire each night with a big central table to play games. We all ran/walked round the lake several times and made friends with the goats who occasionally wandered up the driveway

  • "Lovely property in a fantastic location."

However, we booked for the New Year and thought that the house would have had Christmas decorations. We had two strings of tinsel a Christmas tree and some baubles in a bowl - obviously not much effort taken to dress the house for Christmas! We also felt that kitchen utensils were tired and lacking and not a single rug downstairs was a shame. The log burner was great though!

  • "Fulfilled our expectations; beautiful location, clean throughout, spacious accommodation."

High chair did not have central safety strap and was therefore unusable. This was reported to Menai who contacted the housekeeper who could not help. Goats a feature of everyday life!! Bats in the evenings....
