  • "Handrail to the stairs comes off the wall, as Anwen pointed out to me when she saw I have mobility issues."

My husband discovered this twice and it should have been repaired before being let. The upstairs was spacious though we didn't need the 3 chairs, sofa and cot. The sofa bed in the lounge was horrendous to sit on and only possible if you put all cushions under the front edge. The only Windows downstairs to the back, the kitchen being windowless, were a pair of French doors... one of which has blown double glazing so there was no view out. The doors had to be open to see out and watch the rain. The Last mile and a half to the property are on very narrow single tracks with no passing places so drive with care, we had a couple of close calls Anwen was a really nice lady.

  • "Had a lovely 3 days break over the new year weekend, it was everything we needed after a hectic Christmas visiting family."

Cottage was set in the beautiful Welsh countryside and was nice and secluded but close enough to abergele to pick up any last min bits or to have a pint in the pub (50 min walk away- and it's a lovely walk through the countryside or just a 10 min drive away). Some pubs to recommend- the Harp Inn (gorgeous quaint little pub in the middle of abergele town that serves stunning home made comfort food) and also the bull hotel (great food served here too but not as cute and cosy as the Harp). The cottage was lovely and clean and all of the basics were provided (tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid etc). It was very cosy and warm and the heating worked a treat in the cold weather. The only fault I would have to say was the lack of comfort provided by both the sofa and the double bed. The sofa in the living room was a sofa bed and was very old and not comfy to sit on at all - we ended up opening it out into the sofa bed but this took up all of the room in the living area so it was a bit of a squeeze. And the mattress in the bedroom wasn't the comfiest either but I guess mattress comfort is a subjective thing. It was lovely to stay on a working farm and hear the cows mooing every so often and also be visited by Anwen and Alwyns two gorgeous and gentle cats whenever we were outside. The hot tub was perfect! It was lovely and warm and ready for us to use when we arrived and was super simple to use too. We spent a lot of our time in it and it really was a great addition. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to family and friends! Thanks again to Anwen and Alwyn for hosting us and we hope to be back soon.

Abergele is a short drive away for shops and pubs, also Trawlers Fish & Chip shop is very good for a chippy tea! We wouldn't hesitate in booking to stay here again if returning to the area.

We slept really well and loved getting up to countryside views and hearing the cows! The farm is reached by narrow country lanes but fortunately we encountered very few other vehicles. We really felt 'away from it all' . Hot tub and patio area were lovely, but it was a shame to find the windows and patio of the adjoining cottage overlooked the hot tub. And sadly the wonderful views from the hot tub were obscured by a large static caravan and fence. The cottage is really well placed for sightseeing . Check out Rob's chippy in Abergele, best fish n chips ever!

When we arrived we were greated by Anwen, and she immediately made us feel welcomed. We were shown around and instructed on how to use the hot tub (which was perfect and much needed). There was milk and Welsh Cakes in the fridge . Anwen was readily at hand to advise on places to visit and things to do. Everything was just perfect and we couldn't of asked for a better stay.... Mobile phones signal is not great and whilst there was WiFi is could only be picked up in the upstairs window but for us that was fine as this was a break to get away life's worries, and not having Internet to dominate our lives for a few days was a welcome change. Well recommend and hopefully we will be able to return in the future.

The hot tub was a definite winner and the views were incredible. My only critique would be that the WiFi didn’t work so signal and internet connection were limited for the week, however this is a small thing that didn’t reduce our enjoyment for the week. We really enjoyed our chats with Anwen and how personable she is. Her little kittens are so cute too that we wanted to take them home with us.
