"The cleanliness was disgusting inside and out , the whole hot tub looked like it was falling apart just like all of the decking ."
As we were leaving on the last day , we thought the hot tub would be getting a professional clean , all that came was a pipe that could have come from the back of a tumble dryer and the chemical filled water that wasn't disposed in a specialised way , INSTEAD , the water was drained from the hot tub , onto the already rotting decking wood , onto the grass behind the cabin to endanger whatever wildlife there maybe , me and my partner were not comfortable at all with cleanliness , we are completely robbed of our money , we would like some sort of refund as compensation , we certainly won't be staying there again .

Extremely spacious rooms and comfortable sofa and bed, though we found it a little dated TV couldn't cast from our Netflix, also many cobwebs internally and externally, very quiet though even from the other cabins, perhaps would have liked more info about the local shops were to eat, we spotted a butchers we would have tried on the way home, good access to coast which is what we wanted - would rate 4 out of 5 mainly because of dated ness and spiders

"First time staying here , and it won't be our last , we stayed in the Red , absolutely lovely , spacious and clean , the hot tub was great and love that it is under a shelter , so even though it rained we could still use it , our fur baby loved the place and the area sniffing and exploring, very peaceful place, with the option to go exploring to other places if that's what you wanted."

"Such a lovely peaceful area!"
You would t think there was a large shopping complex just down the road.
Lots of bird life and squirrels to watch if you just want to to lie back in the sun.
The Red was well stocked with everything required, even down to the lovely Welsh cakes!
Didn’t need the dishwasher, as didn’t cook all week!
Had some lovely meals out though!
Got a wee bit annoyed with the quilt cover, it seemed to have a mind of its own, and ended up anywhere but on the bed each night! lol
Didn’t use the bath, as the shower was great!
Hubby LOVED the hot tub, was hard to get him out of it most mornings!
Well looked after property. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for some peace and quiet.
Thank you for a lovely holiday.

"This cabin has the potential to be brilliant."
It is in an idyllic setting surrounded by trees and woodland. However, you SERIOUSLY have to get rid of that sofa. Not only was it far too low, but both of us could not sit on it at the same time or we would never have been able to get up! One shelf in a fridge for a self catering property is nowhere near enough room for food etc and there was only one door shelf which was damaged at one end so unusable. There was no heating on when we arrived and the place was freezing. We rang the number given and were advised that Tracey doesn’t work there anymore it was now Matt. He came within 30mins and sorted the heating out.
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for giving us the feedback, we want to let you know that we take feedback seriously.
We have ordered a new sofa that will be installed in the next few weeks, we will also be changing the accommodation from 3 berth to 2 berth.
I've amended the check-in policy with our cleaners/maintenance team and instructed them to make sure heating is set to 20 degrees before guest arrival.

"Hmmmmmm..."
..Sweeping Cobwebs!! And spider heaven... I used the vacuum and went over every room! Sooo many historic cobwebs. Unfortunately vacuum cleaner useless too...so I can understand why the gaps and edges were not done as nozzle doesn't come apart and it's missing a wheel!
I also cleaned the 2 bathroom sinks and toilet as these were dirty. The bathroom radiator towel rails had splash marks too so not cleaned. Blinds in all rooms thick with dust (I didn't attempt them!)
We had a list of issues on arrival...the 2 phone numbers on the wall are useless! One is the old number not even on the network and the other one is an ex partner! Also...Tracy (who Sykes recommends to call) we also had no reply from! It wasn't until the Wednesday that
a couple of maintenance guy's who my husband saw on site eventually did come in and placed 2 new bulbs in cooker hood, mended the window (handle on wrong so wasn't locking), battery in the wall clock and correct cable for the dvd player!!
It's the attention to detail that's missing in this lodge which is described as a luxury pad for 2! Now...on a plus! Hot tub just lovely, and very private. Bed, very comfortable and huge. Towels supplied lovely. Private Lodge and in a lovely area to explore.
Please listen to and act on these issues... I think things have just been missed over time and let slip. A really good spring clean...and a few new bits of furniture I'm sure will make a massive difference to future guests visiting....
And remove the numbers from the wall and update!!

We went for a week and the Property was amazing we couldn't really find any faults other than the pull out sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable springs sticking out too much to the point it caused bruising other than that it was fantastic it's well equipped everything you need to cook full meals the large bed was so comfy shower really nice the hot tub was amazing the only thing was after a few days the water went quite murky so it would of been nice to perhaps have a water change half way through the week other than those 2 faults it was Fantastic and we will be back

So disappointed in the accommodation certainly not as advertised on approaching the lodge was greeted by an ash tray full of spliffs and ash all up the steps leading to the hot tub hot tub cover ripped and well worn looked rotten even before we entered the lodge once inside no chesterfield as advertised but a small 2 str couch springs gone the table was sticky with cup ring stains fridge hadn’t been cleaned and food residue on cutlery so had to wash them all ,in the bathroom toilet was fine but shower tray was yellow with black possibly mould around the rims into the bedroom bath looked great but the springs in the bed had gone and bed had a topper put on to try and make it comfy but it didn’t work we had spent £350 for a 2night stay as the advert said comfort and peace and tranquillity and gave the lodge a fantastic write up we found something really different needs upgrading and a new advert written explaining its old and tired and needs upgrading would not stay here again waste of money

"We had an amazing stay at the Red!"
Lodge is very cosy and has everything you might need. It’s very quiet so it’s perfect if you going away to relax. Also, great positive for being dog friendly! Our four legged friend loved it! Will definitely go back.
