  • "Wonderful cottage, very well equipped, clean and cozy."

The welcome cake was absolutely scrumptious and went very well with a lovely cuppa on arrival. Lots of information on local places to visit and the track down the road for letting the dog off lead was fabulous. Parking is great and directions spot on. We had a wonderful time and I’d recommend The Old Dairy as a great place to stay.

  • "Absolutely amazing holiday!"

! The host were brilliant, friendly and my children loved being shown the animals on the farm. The play barn was well thought out with games/toys for all ages - great for the whole family. The cottage was beautiful, full of character and history. It was clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed and more (including plastic cutlery and crockery, a highchair and travelcot). The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the Shropshire countryside and there were plenty of leaflets at the property to give ideas of where to go. Thank you for a wonderful time away, we will be back.

It was our first holiday as a family of four and our 3 year old and 9 month old loved it. The play barn was fantastic to come home to after day trips or on lazy days when you don't want to venture far. The facilities inside were spot on, it felt like a home away from home. We immediately booked to come back next year.

  • "I can't agree with your 4 star rating."

The en suite bedroom was tiny, without a bed side table or reading light. In the end suite there was no place to hang a towel, and the hot water supply was from a tiny water heater on the wall which supplied a trickle of water. A description of furnished to a high standard is very misleading. The wardrobe was the tiniest I have ever come across. 4 star rating is wrong.

The Old Dairy was very comfortable and just right for us with a small child and a dog with it being all on one level. The Quarry gardens not far away was a lovely place to visit with kids with a water play area and good playground we went on a boat down the lovely river and The Boathouse riverside restaurant did excellent meals the specials were very good. It seemed a magical place with clock towers chiming our grandson loved it there.

The owners had left fresh flowers, homemade cake, tea, coffee & sugar and even a pint of milk in the fridge. The lights had been switched on which made our entrance nice and welcoming. There were plenty of logs for the log burner, and everything we could possibly want was catered for. Really comfortable bed with luxurious bed linen and duvet. It really is the little things that go a long way Really home from home :)

  • "After nearly 4 1/2 hours on the road with 2 small children, it was so nice to reach our destination, away from the rat race and our jobs as key workers."

When we arrived, the place was spotless and smelt so clean. We have been to other types of accommodation, which have been ok, but The Old Dairy exceeded our expectations. The Old Dairy provides much needed respite and the cake went down very well. The play barn was a fantastic for 2 active children, who were happy to bounce on the trampoline. Beautiful area, and so peaceful. Our children slept so well, much better than at home. The area is beautiful and fantastic for walking. We can't wait to book again and will hopefully book the granary too, for cousins and grandparents. Lots of happy memories made here. Thank you, Jeanette, Nick and Tom for such a great holiday. We will be back.

  • "We had an amazing stay at the Old Dairy."

First of all the location was perfect for us. The cottage is in a quiet small village but is only a few minutes away from Shrewsbury with a large Sainsbury's and the wonderful Church Stretton. The cottage is beautifully decorated and is ideal for a family stay with all the equipment that you would want. We arrived to find flowers and cake as well as a wonderfully clean cottage. The bed linen was great and the beds were very comfortable. We felt very welcome and immediately relaxed knowing that we were safe and secure (in these days of Covid-19 this is very important). We absolutely loved the games barn and spent hours playing badminton. As cat lovers, we really appreciated the warm welcome and cuddles from the farm cats Jet and Benny. All in all this was one of our best cottages holidays and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

The farmer was really helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We had a beautiful lemon cake on arrival and the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. We cooked and ate in most evenings as my younger son enjoyed a few games of pool. We organised a tesco delivery shortly after we arrived which made everything much easier. We visited the West Midlands safari park which was amazing and although this was an hours drive it was well worth the visit. • "The directions to the cottage need to be updated."

There are 3 roads into Stapleton, and the one mentioned in the directions is the middle one which is not the widest road also the petrol station is closed. The information states that there is a pub nearby - this has also closed. The nearest pub/restaurant is now in the next village (Dorrington) but the nearest dog friendly one is further away. Given that the cottage is pet friendly, I think it would be useful to know where the nearest dog friendly pub is! Otherwise no complaints.
