  • "We loved our stay at the Hayloft."

Cottage was lovely and clean with great facilities. Pub and shop over the road is perfect. Ideal to get away and relax. We've recommended the Hayloft to our friends and we will no doubt book it again! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here.

  • "The Hayloft was everything we expected and as described."

Phil & Lara we’re most welcoming and there was a most welcome home made sponge waiting for us on the kitchen table in a cake stand, which was soon devoured. Hayloft residents also benefit from a discount if you dine there. The staff and local villagers are very friendly, the community spirit can be heard throughout their banter

Comfortable beds and hot tub a bonus. Great location with fantastic walks onto the stiperstones from the door. Pub across the road, the stiperstones inn is great. Good value food and really friendly staff. Run by Phil and Lara who own the cottage. Well worth a visit. We will definitely be back

  • "I have just returned from a short break at the Hayloft with my daughter."

Truly lovely, very relaxing, and everything provided that you could need! The kitchen is well equipped, the bed so comfortable with lovely bedding, comfortable sofas, games and DVD's ... everything you would want for a relaxing break in that beautiful part of the UK. And to top it off, the pub is literally a 30 second walk away! And it's a country pub, so not loud or rowdy, but just friendly with amazing food! And there is a little shop next door to the pub which appears to sell everything! Yes, I would thoroughly recommend a stay in the Hayloft, it's amazing!! Oh, and the hot tub is pretty good too!

  • "Not happy at all with this property."

Central heating was abysmal, was constantly switching off due to the boiler switch being flicked overnight. This occurred every night we stayed. I specifically requested the hot tub area to be prepared for use upon arrival, hot tub was prepared but there was no garden light whatsoever so hot tub was rendered useless at night time. No TV in the bedroom, had to borrow the TV from the living room. Toilet seat was cracked, and bathroom was too cold to use at times due to the central heating issue. I booked my stay for 7 nights, but cut it short to just 4 nights because of the terrible experience - requested a full refund from the owner but that was denied - was only compensated less than half of what I originally paid for the booking (even though the property owner constantly had to come and sort out the heating issue) so was not happy at all about the experience overall. I will never be booking here again, and I would never recommend anybody to stay here (unless you like living in a fridge-freezer). Horrible, horrible experience. 0/10.

Lots of little extras which really help make a relaxing holiday , such as large carton of milk and loaf on arrival and a lovely lemon drizzle cake. The pub opposite had an extensive menu and was dog friendly and the neighbouring shop was an Aladdins cave. The locals were extremely welcoming and helpful. The village of Stiperstones nestles in an unspoilt valley on the slopes of the beautiful Stiperstones Hill range and is only eight miles from the delightful Church Stretton and 12 miles from the historic towns of Shrewsbury and Bishop’s Castle. This small Shropshire village boasts a shop and charming inn and is a perfect starting point for many scenic trails, with the summit of the famous Stiperstones Hill, a 1.5 mile walk, and the East Ridge Wood mountain bike trails very close by. This area is a designated National Nature Reserve, a SSSI and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is consequently a favourite place for outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts. The Stiperstones Hill range is dominated by dramatic quartzite tors, which tower above an unspoilt heathland, the most famous is the Devil’s Chair, whilst Manstone Rock is the highest point at 536m above sea level and offers stunning views on a clear day. A short drive away is one of England's finest heritage towns with over 600 listed buildings; Shrewsbury nestles on a loop of the River Severn. Shrewsbury has a magnificent abbey as well as Shrewsbury Castle, which stands in beautiful gardens and is home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum. There's plenty of interesting things to do in the area, with Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, the museums at Ironbridge, and the castle and Michelin-starred restaurants of Ludlow, all making this hillside village the perfect touring spot for your Shropshire adventure.
