    The cottage was as described although had a few snags - such as drawer knobs coming off - which we worked around easily. Fantastic walks from the cottage and the local pubs and restaurants always very friendly.

The property

Perched in the quaint village of Tremadog, Gwynedd, is the wonderful Weaver's cottage, a grade ll listed mid-terrace dwelling in the heart of Tremadog.

Upon arrival, be presented by an idyllic stone-fronted cottage, fit with a contemporary door, welcoming you inside the property and into a handy porch, ideal for storing muddy shoes and coats.

On your left, find the sitting room, where a woodburning stove takes center stage, nestled in front of exposed brick, making this social area a warming room to gather with your family and flick on the Smart TV.

Venture down the hall to locate the kitchen/diner, homing all the necessities required to rustle up a tasty meal, whilst your loved ones settle down at the dining table to plan the itinerary for the days ahead.

Rest and rejuvenate in one of two bedrooms in the home, climbing the stairs where you'll find two beautifully-appointed doubles, each with an extra bed for the younger ones; these stunning bedrooms offer ample storage and refreshing white walls for a bright and airy feel to the rooms.

Still on the first-floor is the family bathroom, where you can indulge in a long soak in the bath as you get ready for a nights embrace, or take a soothing shower of a morning to freshen up for the adventurous day ahead.

Enjoy your morning coffee in the suntrap garden and inhale the fresh countryside air as you take advantage of the tranquil location.

Get to know the local village and take a short stroll to The Union Inn, a welcoming pub with a selection of ales and home-cooked meals, or pick up some local delicacies from the nearby shop, which is well-stocked with all the essentials for your home-from-home experience.

The picturesque village of Tremadog rests on the outskirts of Snowdonia National Park, where you can find a variety of magnificent walking, hiking and cycling routes to suit a variety of abilities, boasting stunning views of the mountainous region.

Set a stone's throw away is the popular coastal town of Porthmadog, where you can board a heritage steam-hauled train at Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passing through rural pastures and woodland, or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the scenic harbour, soaking in the views across the tranquil water as the elegant boats sail in.

History buffs will be delighted with a visit to the nearby seaside resort of Harlech, home to the medieval fortress of Harlech Castle, Dyffryn Ardudwy Burial Chamber and the thrilling Nantcol Waterfalls.

Situated on the outskirts of Porthmadog, is the small village of Tremadog. Within this village, you will find a selection of pubs, a restaurant, a fish and chip shop, a SPAR and a wealth of local business. Within one mile, you will find the larger, coastal town of Porthmadog which plays host to a larger selection of amenities to suit all. Moreover, as the village rests on the edge of the wonderful Snowdonia National Park, visitors can use Tremadog as a base to explore miles of countryside, complete with Wales’ tallest mountain, woodlands, beaches and areas steeped with charming history. Further afield, is the seaside resort of Harlech, where you can walk along the beach, explore the imposing medieval castle or settle within a café and gaze out across the sea. Nearby villages include the Italian-style village of Portmeirion and the town of Criccieth, each well worth a visit. Tremadog is a quaint village, ideal for exploring North Wales.
