• "Wow what a fabulous apartment!"

  It was even better than it looked in the photos! It has been furnished to a very high standard indeed. The beds were sooo comfy, the knives were sharp!! (A rarity in holiday cottages we’ve found!) and the kitchen was very well equipped. The views are amazing and the apartment is so spacious.. they could have easily squeezed more bedrooms into the space but they haven’t and it’s resulted in a feeling of utter luxury! We would highly recommend anyone to stay here! Definitely Five Star

• "An outstanding property."

  Lots of room and views to die for. Everything needed was there. The lift to the property was brilliant. The warmth and comfort of the whole property was fantastic. We were there through Storm Babet and this made terrific scenery overlooking scarborough harbour. We had an amazing stay and will return.

• "Love the apartment."

  Would definitely go again if I could afford the increase in prices. The info for access into the waste disposal building needs correcting. You need to start with C to clear before the code otherwise it doesn’t work. Would have liked a fish slice ( minor detail I Know) One chair with a higher back would be good. Guests have grannies etc I hope the block gets finished and tidied up soon. Three dead Christmas trees down the drive Is not a good look! Very pleasant cleaning team arrived as we were leaving. All on time

• "We rented this Penthouse with excitement!"

  Sadly it is being very badly let down by the House Keeping Team!, and Sykes Cottages in conjunction with Yorkshire Coastal Cottages commitments to issues!! Our experience was not a good one, and to make it worse, after what they said was a reclean, and delayed holiday start by 3 hours, it was no better! To save the day, and week, we ended up cleaning it ourselves. A a real shame, as it is a stunning Penthouse, if it was clean!! After complaint, the owner and the service provider have neglected to take our case as real or meaningful! All we wanted was this expensive, fabulous penthouse to be clean on our entry, it wasn’t sadly to say the very least! I could further embarrass with an itemised list, but sadly, due to the response we have had so far, I doubt it will make any difference! Please be ware that if you book and have problems, they will do their best to discredit or believe you have a genuine grievance! It’s a real shame too, as the Penthouse has amazing views and is spacious and well thought out! It could however, benefit from some furniture in the Atrium, and maybe a few scatter rugs in the main living space, this would stop the echo, and give it the ambiance it deserves. After doing the clean ourselves, we did go on to have a good week, we were determined not to let this disappointment and lack following up, enquiry to know if we were satisfied and comfortable, nothing! No welcome treats, that we know is standard practise, etc spoil our long awaited vacation. Feel sad that we feel duty bound to post such a negative review!   Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you felt that the property was not clean however, it had been thoroughly cleaned and checked by my housekeeper to her usual high standard. Being newly built and furnished, it is difficult to understand your complaint. Secondly, we are sad that you felt let down by the response of Yorkshire Coastal Cottages and by the owner. YCC responded immediately to your initial concern and sent the housekeeper over straight away. As regards the lack of response from the owner, it is not possible for guests to contact an owner directly, so am unsure as to how we could have taken action. You mention that there was no welcome hamper left, however, my team left the usual YCC jute tote bag full of local treats as well as other items for your arrival, in the larder cupboard. Lastly, a lot of time and effort has gone into making the decor and ambiance of the apartment, warm yet modern, we are sorry it was not to your liking. Property Owner
