  • "What a lovely property very spacious comfortable, warm well equipped, and very clean."

    Two large double bedrooms both ensuite with a generous size walk in showers just a small step up into shower. Large living room/kitchen with space to move around. Sean was very helpful and we enjoyed a lovely meal at his pub attached to the property. Would book the property again if we are in the area Just a couple of suggestion Two steps outside the property it would be helpful to have a grab rail near the door to help get up and down the steps The lounge would benefit from a coffee or some small side tables, and a standard lamp to save having to have the main lights on if you want to read a book. But apart from that we throughly enjoyed our stay at a excellent property

  • "The property has been converted to a very high standard, the shower rooms and kitchen are well equipped."

    However there are one or two little things that would improve a stay at the cottage. There are definitely not enough coat hangers in the wardrobes and the very few that are there are flimsy and would not hold a pair of jeans without bending. It would benefit from a roller blind on the door for added privacy and a coffee or occasional table would have been very useful to put drinks on while watching the TV.

  • "There was no welcome book detailing how where various items were stored and how to operate various things like the tele, cooker, hob top, There was not an indication of local amenities, shops, buses ot train times into Whitby, etc."

    The lounge would have benefited with a Coffe table and standard lamp. The sofa needs renewing. Shaun, the manager was very accommodating and helpful.

  • "The Salmon leap cottage for my wife and I was in a perfect location for us to travel in and out of the local area,ie Whitby,Robin hoods bay."

  • "An excellent base to explore the area and the added bonus of having the pub next door for an evening drink."

    Owner very helpful when we had a problem with one of the dining chairs and replaced it immediately. Comfortable beds which was great after being out all day.

Salmon Leap Cottages consists of two lovely renovated cottages settled int the coastal village of Sleights, North Yorkshire. This collection offers contemporary open-plan living areas with loads of amenities and a light and airy atmosphere, each with a TV, well-fitted kitchen and two bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms featuring a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC. Salmon Leap Cottages 1 is a single-storey property, whilst Salmon Leap Cottages 2 has both bedrooms on the first floor. Both have off-road parking and a bench ideal for a morning coffee in the sunshine before heading out to explore the local area. Sleights is a lovely riverside village with local artwork, a convenience store where you can stock up on essentials and pubs, including the wonderful Salmon Leap pub situated directly beside the properties, and there is also a trainline heading to Whitby and other lovely locations. Sleights rests beside the bustling seaside town of Whitby, a great place to begin your North Yorkshire adventure, offering loads of shops, eateries, a golf course and the fascinating ruins of Whitby Abbey. The town is part of the Cinder Track walk and boasts a stunning sandy beach, ideal for watersports and beachcombing. Throughout the coast of North Yorkshire, there are so many beautiful walks where you can immerse yourself in the scenery, and beautiful towns such as Staithes with its picturesque river running between the village. Sleights is ideal for both a coastal and country holiday. Just 4 miles from the picturesque Yorkshire coastline, it is also on the edge of the dramatic North Yorkshire moors country, littered with attractive villages and scenery, which is very popular with walkers and cyclists. Though quiet, Sleights boasts a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop, a butcher's, a bakery, a hairdressers, a Post Office within a Spar shop. The North Yorkshire Steam Railway terminus is a few minutes’ drive with steam trains coming through Sleights, together with regular public transport to and from the nearby port of Whitby. Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire. It is an atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and, of course, the abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
