  • "This was our second stay, and all was good."

So much room in the house, it is great. The back garden is secure for the dogs. It has everything we needed and more. A short walk takes you to Canal Head where we walked our dogs. Lots of wildlife about, especially if you like birds. We went to Millington Pastures and seen so many red kites ! All in all, a great place to stay, very handy for Pocklington town, and also for York, including park and ride. We will definitely stay here again.

Carol- thank you for this lovely review. We are so thrilled you had another enjoyable stay. You are welcome ay Oshawa Dell any time! Property Owner

  • "The house was a wonderful base for our family holiday!"

House was clean and provided above and beyond on kitchen supplies, games and necessities for the week! We had a minor issue with plumbing which was promptly dealt with by Wendy and Ian - who are wonderful people!! The only comments I would say is that we did struggle slightly with our littles ones due to glass tv stands, lots of lamps and no stair gates. We improvised and managed so really wasn't a big deal, but might be handy for people to know for future bookings and/or a future addition to the house?

Beth- we are so, so glad to hear that you all enjoyed the holiday at Oshawa Dell. I have to say, you were such lovely, understanding guests with regard to the plumbing issue! Thank you so much. Being a host 'at a distance' can be quite a stressful thing, but we are deeply reassured that all turned out well. Thank you for the comment regarding the 'little people' issues - we will certainly have a think about that. Do book again- you will be most welcome. Property Owner

The comfortable, spacious house is suitable for three generations. The property is well maintained and communication with the owner excellent. There is plenty to do within easy driving distance. Places my family have enjoyed during our visits are Burnby Hall to feed the enormous fish, Bempton Cliffs to see the puffins in early July, and numerous attractions in York including the Castle Museum and Viking Centre.

Dear Anne. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are so pleased that your 2nd visit to Oshawa and to East Yorkshire was so positive. Super- glad you enjoyed Oshawa again too - do book again! Property Owner

Perfect location, easy access to York. The house had EVERYTHING we needed: safe garden for the kids, and such a comfortable home after our long days out. Special shout out to the Diva's, the house was lovely and clean. Pocklington at a stone's throw has pubs, takeaways and shops, not to mention the Market on Tuesday. A lovely week with our friends, we will definitely return.

We loved watching the rabbits running around the garden, and walking along the canal to see the swans :) In an excellent location close to York and supermarkets close by. Would thoroughly recommend Railway Street Fisheries (chippie in Pocklington) - absolutely delicious!!

Dear Rob. We are so pleased you had a great time and that you had everything you needed in the house. And the swans! How we love them too - they have been there every year, with a different brood of cygnets, for over 12 years now! We stayed here as we have family in Pocklington, so the location was great. There was plenty of room for when we had family around for dinner, there was everything we needed, down to the last utensil. The garden was very safe for our dogs, they enjoyed chasing the rabbits when they ventured into the garden. Great access across the road to the canal and footpath, lovely walk. We would definitely stay again.

Dear Carol. Thank you for taking the time to write such a great report - but we are even more delighted that you loved the house and that you had such a good time - this makes us feel very happy indeed. Do come again- you would be most welcome! Property Owner

  • "Great facilities, very spacious and comfortable house with good safe garden for our dog."

Well situated, and although fairly close to a main road, we weren't bothered by traffic noise. Overall very clean house, however, some of the dishes in the cupboards look like they were hastily washed, or just wiped, and even found a mug with solidified coffee in it at the back of the cupboard. Another kitchen negative was an oven which we struggled to get to the right temperature even with the specific instructions. Even with a few small negatives, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property. A great house in a great location, perfect for a dog-friendly holiday. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

We are so glad that you had a great holiday and that you would return. We are sorry for the crockery and have already made contact with our cleaning team with regard to rectifying that. Regarding the oven, we will look into making a 'cheat' sheet for our guests. Thank you for your positive comments too - do come and stay again. You will be most welcome. Property Owner

  • "A very comfortable, spacious house with a lot of useful equipment, making for a very pleasant stay."

An easy walk into Pocklington and a nice walk along the canal close at hand. Everything we needed was provided. The only negative was the heating which we were not able to override to get it on when it wasn't a preset time; being winter it could get quite cold without heating on in the main house. The heaters in the conservatory were very efficient and easy to switch on which made up for the heating difficulty in the rest of the house.

It is gorgeous, a proper home from home and our 18 month old grandson loved spending time in the garden. • "My husband and I spent a relaxing and much-needed break at Oshawa Dell earlier this month (September 2021)."

It is a spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped house, being ideally located in a quiet close, near the main York-Hull road (A1079), a gentle 25-minute walk from the centre of Pocklington and a 12-minute walk from bus stops (route X46) serving York, Pocklington, Beverley and Hull. We appreciated the thorough pdf guide, which detailed both the local amenities and a room-by-room summary of what is available and, more importantly, how everything works! We had a quiet but marvellous week at Oshawa Dell and have no hesitation in recommending it thoroughly.

! A very pleasant room which we spent most of the time in. I did find all the instructions from the owner helpful but slightly overwhelming however I expect some guests may need this?? Everywhere in the house was clean and comfortable and the two bathrooms were very good. The only negatives were that the garden had not been cleared of dog pooh !! Luckily one of the guests noticed this and cleared it all, plus the road noise was noticeable when windows open in big bedroom but overall was not a problem. Kitchen perhaps needs some refurbishment but again the utensils and provisions were very good

In close proximity to the road so very easy to find. It had very comfortable beds and showers that were effective and easy to use. The house was well stocked. There was literally double of everything. The garden was dog friendly and safe and full of birds and wildlife. Easy walk into Pocklington and some lovely walks nearby Easy drive to a lot of lovely places nearby. Getting the oven to work was a challenge. It was quite complicated if you haven't used a similar model before. We couldn't get into the property until after 5 pm as the cleaners were still there. However after seeing the amount of rubbish left by the previous occupants we weren't surprised.

Beautifully furnished, spacious, well equipped and in a lovely location. The garden is very secure for your pet and full of wildlife morning, noon and night. • "Pleasant and comfortable stay in a nice location."

House is very well presented and equipped with a fairly good sized outside area and was convenient for meeting up with family in York. Kitchen had very little cupboard space for groceries. Trust the collection arrangements for waste bins is now clear as the neighbour put out the wrong bin for us on the Tuesday (and others followed suit) and we only noticed just in time that this was wrong after checking the District Council current calendar online and seeing the correct bins out on the other side of the road. The calendars and details displayed in the property are out of date.
