Beautifully clean throughout with amble kitchen utensils and crockery for home cooked meals. Park and ride to York 30 minutes away, the coast under hour drive , giving lots of choices for days out as well as Pocklington / Canal walk on your door step for a fantastic holiday . We loved it !

  • "A very comfortable, spacious house with a lot of useful equipment, making for a very pleasant stay."

An easy walk into Pocklington and a nice walk along the canal close at hand. Everything we needed was provided. The only negative was the heating which we were not able to override to get it on when it wasn't a preset time; being winter it could get quite cold without heating on in the main house. The heaters in the conservatory were very efficient and easy to switch on which made up for the heating difficulty in the rest of the house.

  • "Our stay in 1 Oshawa Dell could not have been better!"

It is gorgeous, a proper home from home and our 18 month old grandson loved spending time in the garden. Pocklington is a lovely village and the house is situated perfectly from which to explore the surrounding area, as well as days out in York. We will definitely consider using Sykes again and hope to come back and visit Oshawa Dell in the future.

We had a few problems with the boiler & wifi. Contacted the owners who although were in Kenya, promptly replied & did their best to solve the issues. We would be happy to return & recommend to friends.

  • "My husband and I spent a relaxing and much-needed break at Oshawa Dell earlier this month (September 2021)."

It is a spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped house, being ideally located in a quiet close, near the main York-Hull road (A1079), a gentle 25-minute walk from the centre of Pocklington and a 12-minute walk from bus stops (route X46) serving York, Pocklington, Beverley and Hull. We appreciated the thorough pdf guide, which detailed both the local amenities and a room-by-room summary of what is available and, more importantly, how everything works! We had a quiet but marvellous week at Oshawa Dell and have no hesitation in recommending it thoroughly.

  • "The house was spacious and clean with all facilities we needed."

The garden was secure for the dog so we were able to let her go out at any time. Myself and my son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren enjoyed spending our evenings in the spacious conservatory playing a selection of board games that were at the house. Just a short walk to the canal to take the dog and 15 minute walk to get into Pocklington. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

  • "Facilities and provisions were excellent - the sunroom was a real bonus for the whole family plus dog !"

! A very pleasant room which we spent most of the time in. I did find all the instructions from the owner helpful but slightly overwhelming however I expect some guests may need this?? Everywhere in the house was clean and comfortable and the two bathrooms were very good. The only negatives were that the garden had not been cleared of dog pooh !! Luckily one of the guests noticed this and cleared it all, plus the road noise was noticeable when windows open in big bedroom but overall was not a problem. Kitchen perhaps needs some refurbishment but again the utensils and provisions were very good

  • "It was a lovely house and garden."

In close proximity to the road so very easy to find. It had very comfortable beds and showers that were effective and easy to use. The house was well stocked. There was literally double of everything. The garden was dog friendly and safe and full of birds and wildlife. Easy walk into Pocklington and some lovely walks nearby Easy drive to a lot of lovely places nearby. Getting the oven to work was a challenge. It was quite complicated if you haven't used a similar model before. We couldn't get into the property until after 5 pm as the cleaners were still there. However after seeing the amount of rubbish left by the previous occupants we weren't surprised.

  • "Pleasant and comfortable stay in a nice location."

House is very well presented and equipped with a fairly good sized outside area and was convenient for meeting up with family in York. Kitchen had very little cupboard space for groceries. Trust the collection arrangements for waste bins is now clear as the neighbour put out the wrong bin for us on the Tuesday (and others followed suit) and we only noticed just in time that this was wrong after checking the District Council current calendar online and seeing the correct bins out on the other side of the road. The calendars and details displayed in the property are out of date.

Beautifully furnished, spacious, well equipped and in a lovely location. The garden is very secure for your pet and full of wildlife morning, noon and night. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely house, it feels like a home when you walk in. Pocklington is not too far away and hosts some beautiful independent shops and great pubs.

The only downside was the cleaning company that were employed didn't do a very good job. Overall though it was a great holiday and I would recommend Oshawa Del to anyone looking for a quiet location. We would book again if it becomes available again in the Future.
