  • "We have had a Lovely stay at The Hideaway, it was a lovely hut with plenty of home touches and had enough facilities to ensure we had a lovely stay."

It was close to nearby villages and towns for basic shopping or for going for a day out. Alan and Helen were very accommodating and made sure we had what we needed to have a nice stay. It was perfect for us and is perfect for long or short stays it is in a lovely area which is quite peaceful and has plenty of animals around which is a bonus for us :)

  • "Such a lovely spot."

Alan greeted us and showed us to the hut then we were left to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, peace, wildlife and it was perfect. Just what we had hoped for. Everything was provided in the hut that you could wish for. Bed was comfy and the shower was amazing! We will definitely go back again.

  • "We had a fantastic stay!"

We loved the hut & it’s surroundings. We made friends with the donkeys (they loved the carrots we bought for them) and the Border Collie who spent a bit of time with us around the hut during Saturday evening and followed us on a little walk up the track. It was a fantastic way to switch off and be off the grid for a few days. The hut was gorgeous and had everything we needed. Our only slight negative was the track and the distance to the hut from the proper roads. But those things can’t be helped. Other than that, it was perfect. Thank you!

  • "Amazing stay at the The Hideaway, We actually managed to get there without a car and it was quite easy!"

even better if you are driving and the hosts Alan & Helen do provide amazing instructions for getting to the place. In terms of the hut, it is the most well equipped and well thoughout place ive slept in for a very long time. Anything you might need for comfort is provided and more, including cooking tools ( induction hob also available ) hot water, and everything else promised with some extra bits for you to find. The area is absolutely beautiful and if you catch some sunlight you will be absolutely lost in the forest and hills around the area. I absolutely do recommend the the hideaway for any type of getaway, but most especially one with your other half. Thank you Alan & Helen, you guys are amazing hosts :)

The property is located in beautiful surroundings and we went on a lovely walk exploring the forest. We had access to everything we could have wanted including an excellent hot shower and plenty of wood for the fire. Our hosts were extremely accommodating. Would recommend as a short break especially for couples wishing to get away from it all!

  • "We had a lovely stay, and used this base for wild swimming and communing with nature."

The toilet was very high for us (we are sisters 5ft 3 and 5ft 4 so a step would be useful). The bed was comfortable and we were able to "top and tail" without disturbing each other. One person had to climb over the other one to get out of bed. However it was manageable for a few nights. We used the induction hob which was great, now my sister is thinking of getting one for her camper. We saw frogs, owls were heard close by at night, which was lovely, and we enjoyed meeting the donkeys, turkeys, sheep and farm dog.

We now have two small steps, one for the toilet and one for the bed, they are portable and small enough to put away somewhere if not required so guests don't trip over them. Thank you for the recommendation Property Owner

  • "This stay was perfect in every way."

The rural setting was quiet and secluded, yet well connected with footpaths and bridleways through open moorland and through the local forest. The hut was spotless and everything appeared brand new. The bed was comfy, the hut layout and storage was ingenious, all mod cons available. The highlights were the outdoor fire pit, birdsong, walking, cycling and no internet. I totally decompressed, slept well and loved exploring hills, moors dales and forests. Lock up cycle storage was an unexpected bonus and lovely helpful hosts.

We were surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and there was an abundance of beautiful wild birds. The owners could not do enough to welcome us and provide anything we needed. The accommodation was really lovely and very comfortable with every detail of the design clearly having been considered. We will definitely visit again.

Location amazing. Shepherd's hut secluded with absolutely amazing scenery. A great base for exploring the surrounding areas and right on the doorstep of Dalby forest. Hosts really accommodating and nothing was l too much trouble. Lovely people. Shepherd's hut had everything we needed for our stay and was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Loved the log burner and firepit. Will certainly be booking again. Thank you for a great stay.
