    "I have to start by saying this a beautiful home and the location is perfect ."

    The rating is based on poor communication from Sykes and small things that were missed by the cleaners and maintenance. - I contacted Sykes 2 day's prior to say key information was blank they told me to message before arriving and they would provide it. I messaged Sykes at 3pm ( check in time) it took 3 hours before I was contacted with the key lock code -There was a dirty tray with tinfoil and food bits in the oven - lino peeling off stairs - shower heads don't work correctly - some windows don't open The property was beautiful a cosy cottage that is bright however there's a few things that need a little tlc like the shower heads and the lino on the stairs . The only other downfall to the property is temperature. I expect due to it's location it catches the sun and the whole of the upstairs is heated by it but unfortunately you can't open half of the windows and on the opposite side downstairs can get very chilly especially at night I did use the heating for 2 nights however as I couldn't set it for just an hour I had to get up and down to turn it on and off so just used extra blankets when needed. We took some lovely walks through the woods down the stream and also went to skinningrove beach every night for a walk with the dogs Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house I took the hoover round and put out the bins when they were due out and wiped round

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 4 miles; Hinderwell 6 miles; Whitby 14 miles.

The village of Loftus lies 14 miles north of Whitby on the east coast of Yorkshire. Originally an old alum mining village, it comprises terraced houses, old stone cottages and a few grand stone dwellings. The long and lively main street hosts a variety of shops, eateries, pubs, banks and an impressive town hall. Lying behind the main street is a leisure centre with an excellent swimming pool. Loftus is well placed for discovering the small coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes, the latter being a popular choice for artists. Four miles to the north is the elegant spa town of Saltburn with its golf club and long pier stretching over the wide sands.
