  • "Woodbine cottage is the best equipped cottage I have stayed in and it is furnished to a very high standard."

    It is warm and cosy. Local bus services run half hourly north and south on the coast road. Sandsend has a surprising number of places to eat and we visited them all. A good variety on all menus Parking was no problem and the locals are very welcoming Thank you Lynne - we will return.

  • "Our second stay at Woodbine Cottage."

    A beautiful cottage in a superb location on the sea front but not disturbed by traffic noise. Very well furnished with much attention to detail, obviously chosen with love and care by the owner, cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is light, spacious and fitted with high quality appliances and every conceivable utensil. Lovely and cheerful on a morning with sun pouring in through the windows. The second floor bedroom is spacious, with a very comfortable bed and fabulous views, the en-suite is tiny but very useful. Nice bathroom and great shower on the first floor. Excellent storage space particularly in the first floor bedroom. The owner Lynne is a very considerate host, ensuring that we had all the necessary information before arrival, details on how to contact her and even checking when we arrived that we were happy with the cottage. The personal touch makes all the difference! A real home from home and I would be perfectly happy lounging in Woodbine Cottage all week if the weather was poor although we were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny stay. We were lucky to be able to park in front of the cottage all week. We hope to return soon.

Woodbine Cottage is a charming beachfront retreat situated in East Row, North Yorkshire.

With roadside parking available adjacent on a first come basis and nearby pay-and-display options, this delightful abode welcomes two small to medium well-behaved pets or one large pet, making it an ideal getaway for families or friends seeking a coastal escape.

Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by an inviting sitting room, complete with a warming woodburning stove and a TV, perfect for those relaxing evenings in.

The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with everything you need to whip up delicious meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table.

As the day draws to a close, retire to one of the two welcoming bedrooms.

The double bedroom benefits from an en-suite with a basin, heated towel rail, and WC, offering a private space to freshen up.

The twin bedroom is equally as inviting while housing a handy utility cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for those longer stays.

A separate bathroom, complete with a bath, shower over, basin, and WC, serves the bedrooms.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!
