  • "Very disappointed that we were not made aware of the ongoing dispute with the neighbour over the noise."

The neighbour is attached to the property and played her tv till the early hours of the morning, the volume was loud enough for us to hear every word. When I spoke to Skye’s about the noise I was advised to speak to the neighbour as the owner knew nothing about any noise problems. I spoke to the neighbour who confirmed she has been complaining for the last 2 years about the noise from our house, doors slamming, talking can be heard. The owner was aware of the problems. The noise for the first 3 nights from her TV meant I slept very badly, after speaking to her we tried to compromise but this meant us having to be very quiet in the house, I don’t think this made for a relaxing holiday. I will not be booking this house again and would certainly not recommend any friends renting the property. The owner needs to sort out the problem!

I am sorry to hear that the enjoyment of your holiday was affected, the house is a semi-detached and so there is the possibility of noise between the properties. We are aware that our neighbour is sensitive to noise and we added sound insulation to the adjoining walls to reduce sound transfer from our property into hers. Prior to this we had a couple of complaints regarding noise but since this (over a year ago) we have not received any complaints from guests or from our neighbour. So please be assured we have not knowingly withheld any issues from you. We will have a chat to our neighbour when we next visit the property. Property Owner

  • "We were very pleased with Dale View."

The sofas and beds very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, good to have plenty of mugs and glasses. We enjoined time in the very pretty garden. Probably the best equipped property we have stayed in. Whilst it was great to have bath sheets there were two other towels which were in a poor state, one that had holes in it and the other was ripped in half. I will try and send photos. We had been so pleased to find somewhere with superking beds only to find they had been made up into singles. Your web site clearly states this would only happen on request and we did not request this.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and sorry to hear about the towels and the bed configuration , you are correct that they should be configured as KIngSize unless otherwise requested. Thanks for letting us know, I have followed this up with the 'The Holiday Home Housekeeper" who manage the changeovers and will work with them to ensure that the linen is in good order and the default bed configuration is as stated. The downstairs shower wasn’t working properly and we couldn’t get any warm water out of it.someone had turned the boiler water temperature down and so on our first morning we had cold showers,we managed to sort this out ourselves, otherwise lovely spacious house comfortable beds and well stocked.

  • "The cottage was really lovely, very clean, modern, spacious and close to local shop, fish & chips, 2 pubs the Plough does excellent food especially Sunday roast."

Close to Whitby only 4 miles away. The rooms were open plan with a large kitchen and log fire. Bedrooms were spacious with a bathroom upstairs and a shower and toilet downstairs, underfloor heating. The two bedrooms next to the bathroom were cold though as the radiators never came on but they did in the other two bedrooms and through the house, also the showers were not hot enough, we never used the downstairs shower due to the temperature being cold even when turned to hot so we all had to share the one bathroom upstairs. Plenty of seating and a large family table to eat at and breakfast bar. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.

The property lacks nothing and is very well equipped for all your needs, being so cosy and warm with the addittion of a charming log fire. The 4 double bedrooms are spacious and the bathroom very clean with new fittings which are more than good The parking is also very good. I would have to say this cottage is so good, it would be hard to find one better, in our opinion. Allan Nov 2021

  • "Gorgeous, modern well equipped holiday cottage close to Whitby, moors and beaches."

Previous reviews mention noise from the adjoining neighbours, we didn’t hear a peep from them. My only gripe would be the pillows had seen better days and think could do with replacing but other than that absolutely brilliant!

  • "Dale View is a beautiful house and really well equipped."

The rooms are all really good sizes making the property versatile. Our children loved the dolls house. A few reviews mention the noise from next door, I’d not describe the neighbours as overly noisy as someone who lives in a semi detached house, you can hear their tv when upstairs until about 11 and then they do play wave sounds white noise. This didn’t affect our sleep however if you are someone who needs silence you could go in one of the other bedrooms (the ones without the zip link beds)

  • "We had a lovely stay at Daleview Cottage the only issue we had was that the next door neighbour played sounds of the sea / waves crashing every night and as the walls are very thin we did feel like we were sleeping in the middle of the North Sea at times!"

! Thank you for the beautiful birthday flowers that was a lovely surprise and we enjoyed the bottle of wine and welcome pack left for us on arrival. The owner was very accommodating in allowing us to hire a hot tub and which we enjoyed during our weeks stay. Overall we were delighted with the accommodation, location and the beds and sofas were very comfortable.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely week at Dale View."

The house was very welcoming, clean and comfortable with high quality furnishings and appliances; a very nice gift was also there for us. We arrived during a stormy weekend and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the snug next to the log burner. We had a toddler in our group and happy to find it extremely child friendly with stair gates in situ and a clean high chair and travel cot also available; he had a great time in the lovely secure garden as did our dogs! Whitby is only a short drive away as are the other coastal areas but would also liked to have had more time to explore Sleights. Everything you need is in the village and the River Gardens and Ruswarp are also worth a visit. Rare to find somewhere so child/dog friendly with space, nice garden and car parking. We found it very relaxing and hope to return. Thank you. Julie Peak District
