The property

Resting in the heart of the charming coastal town of Filey in North Yorkshire is Yorkshire House.

This wonderful, dog-friendly holiday home benefits from a fantastic location just a stone’s throw away from the beach on North Yorkshire’s picturesque coast as well as an inviting interior completed by four well-appointed bedrooms and a rear garden with barbecue; the perfect choice for families or friends looking for a coastal getaway.

After a day spent by the beach, kick off your sandy shoes and cross the threshold to find a sitting room, here you can unwind on the plush sofas in front of the Smart TV while the designated chef of the groups gets acquainted with the fully-equipped kitchen.

Tuck into their culinary delights in the dining room or on a sunny evening step outside to fire up the barbecue for an alfresco affair as the sun begins to set over Filey.

When the evening draws to a close, travel inside to wash off the day’s adventures in either the bathroom or second-floor shower room ahead of catching your rest in one of four bedrooms; there is a super king-size, a second-floor king-size, a twin and a family room with two sets of bunk beds.

In the morning take a short walk to the local shops where you can stock up on all of self-catering essentials or head down to the golden shores of Filey Beach, bask in the sun as the kids splash around the rock pools or simply enjoy leisurely strolls with the dogs in the sea air.

The town is also home to an array of eateries, perfect for when you fancy a break from the kitchen, these include The Star, The Dark Witch Music Bar and Grill and Charlottes of Filey.

Test out your swing at Filey Golf Club, tour the Nature Reserve or follow the coast up to Scarborough where you can tour its breath-taking, ruined castle or embark on an open water adventure on speedboats, fishing trips or marine safari with the chance to spot seals!

All this and more awaits at Yorkshire House.

About the location

FILEY

Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.

Set in the magnificent Filey Bay, Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making it an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels and there is a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated and there are loads of family activities such as Alpamare UK waterpark, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where all kinds of common and rare birdlife can be seen. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where you will find great beaches, a castle, the Rotunda Museum and the acclaimed Sea Life Centre. Other towns worth visiting close to Filey include Bridlington, Whitby, Hornsea and Saltburn, which all demonstrate the vibrancy of this picturesque North Yorkshire region.
