"Good communication from the owners."
The welcome pack was a pleasant surprise.
It would be helpful if the cleaner did not turn everything at the sockets. We had to go round to find the sockets to turn electrical items on. The fridge switch was hidden behind the bread bin and the toaster switch behind the microwave.
Facilities were excellent and the cleanliness could not be faulted.
Definitely recommend.

"Ideal location in a beautiful area."
The complimentary welcome basket of beer and shortbread was much appreciated. The property was well presented, apart from a used dental flossing stick, which I came across in the right hand coffee table drawer in the lounge area, which reflects in my score for cleanliness. Also, we didn’t find the lounge furniture terribly comfortable, as it is too low. However, this old, former chapel has clearly been lovingly converted to a high standard of finish.

"Fully equipped and high spec, sympathetic conversion of a former Methodist Chapel ."
Wonderful welcome hamper started a perfect holiday off instantly! Shower really powerful and beds wonderfully comfortable. The Chapel is a fabulous base for exploring the Yorkshire East Coast. Trans-Penine trail 3 mins walk from your front door. The best of both worlds-countryside and shoreline a stones throw away. Highly recommended and we will be back

"We have just returned today from the Old Chapel having spent a fantastic week there."
It was a real home from home. We are both relaxed and energised after our break. Dawn the owner was fantastic knowing that she was always on the end of the phone if needed (we never needed her as everything was perfect). On arrival the instructions that she sent were perfect, and she went over and above with little gems such as food/pub recommendations. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfy. Thank you so much for the extra thought you put into everything, it was noted and appreciated.

"The old chapel is perfect for a couple looking for a break near great cycling and walking country."
The trans Penine trail is roughly 200 yards from the property, right next door to the village pub. With the added advantage of the area nearby being very flat!
The ground floor was refurbished in 2020 and as you would expect is immaculate with all facilities you may need if choosing to self cater.
We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend it to others.

"The nearest place to do any proper food shopping was about a 10 minute drive away in Hornsea down the country lanes."
The 'local shop' listed in the details was actually within the local pub and this was not quite what I expected. It was however a comfortable place to stay which was warm and welcoming when we arrived. very quiet and a 'tucked away' location.

I will say the accommodation was maybe a bit too 'Ikea' for us as we like more traditional. We will be looking for another holiday near to York we thought the city was fantastic and we enjoyed going up the coast to Scarborough and Whitby.
