Owners very helpful and friendly, resident pets are also very friendly, they like to visit daily. Be careful of how wide you leave the bedroom skylight open as Boo (the cat) will let himself in. Recommend The Witching Post and The Wheatsheaf in Egton for dinner (you will need to book The Wheatsheaf). We would stay again.

Loved meeting Chewie the dog who popped by a couple of times to say hi to Bob and Lenny. Everything perfect xx Just to let you know, the kettle is leaking a little, works OK though.

Whitby and coastal villages are close enough by car. Coopers offers is very peaceful with beautiful view across open countryside. Good WiFi speed for Netflix etc (We have an Amazon fire stick) . All in all a well furnished comfortable cootage satisfying all our needs. The only negative points .. Not suitable for the infirm due to spiral staircase and no loo on the ground floor.

The setting is idyllic, as is the barn itself. The barn was very well equipped with everything needed for our stay and much more. Everything in the barn is of high quality along with a beautiful hand made kitchen. The welcome touches, from the Yorkshire Brack, chocolates in the bedrooms and even treats for our little cockapoo were much appreciated. Looking out from the dining area the windows frame the stunning views, so there is always something different to see with the changing sky and light. Just open the door and head up or down the road and enjoy the walks and of course the views. We actually had a bbq and did a bit of star gazing! We would recommend Coopers Barn it definitely deserves a 10! Our thanks to Chloe for calling in to check on us and ensure we had everything we needed. Also Boo the cat and Swift the dog two sweet visitors.

The accommodation has been fitted out to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings and was as expected clean and tidy. It offers a peaceful location with outstanding views across the Esk Valley. The owners live next door and are readily available if needed. We also enjoyed our daily visit by the owners cat "Boo" who was a pleasure to have around and wasn't any bother. There was a great local pub (Wheatsheaf) in the village of "Egton" which we would highly recommend. With it's friendly landlord it offers some fine ale's and the food was first class. We were pleased that we chose "Coopers Barn" for our holiday and we will definitely be returning again.

  • "The property was a beautifully converted barn, very clean, well equipped and mainly comfortable."

Beautiful view across the valley and a pleasant terrace from which to sit and admire it. Helpful and pleasant owners. As so often in rented properties, we would have liked higher backs to the settees, to rest our heads. Also we missed having a light over the mirror in the double en suite bathroom and there was no wall mirror in the double bedroom. As we often find, the duvet was far too thick and we rarely find a thinner, summer one available.

Coopers barn was an idealistic and charming barn conversion set in a peaceful countryside setting. The facilities inside the cottage exceeded our expectations. It was clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped. Outside you could see for miles of unspoiled natural beauty. The owners were friendly and welcoming and approachable. We cannot fault the comfort, the views and accessibility to all the lovely countryside and coast within a short distance of this property. We cannot think of anything negative to say. We stayed second week in September 2018 and the weather was really kind to us. It was like home from home. Lovely room sizes beautifully fitted out with everything you need. Parking just outside for one car and extra parking just seconds away. Whitby and the rest of the coast is within close proximity and so is the North Yorkshire Moors railway station of Grosmont. Fabulous week. Owners extremely friendly and helpful and live next door if you need them otherwise very unobtrusive. Lovely owners and fabulous accommodation.

the owners, Fran and Glyn, were extremely nice and helpful and the welcome tray and the Christmas decorations were very much appreciated and make the Barn look very festive. We were welcomed personally and then left alone for the duration of our stay, although we were told to contact them at any time if a problem. We would certainly visit again but maybe in the Spring/summer due to its quite remote location as if the weather was bad (snow and ice), would make driving very difficult due to the narrow and winding roads to the cottage. A must for anyone wishing to have a "away from it all" break, but within 20 minutes of the beach and facilities of Whitby and the lovely homely and friendly pub at Egton Bridge.
