  • "The cottage was lovely and in a great location."

We were snowed in on our last day and the owners allowed us to stay an extra night. The moors looked spectacular covered in snow, just a shame the pub wasn’t serving food for obvious reasons

Thank you so much for your review, so pleased you enjoyed your stay and got home safely the snow was really bad. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week at 5 Hollins Cottages."

The property was great, the kitchen/ dining room was a great size and had all the equipment needed. The living room was also a good size, but was also nice and cosy! Bedrooms and bathroom all good. We were blessed with a week of great weather, so the garden was a great bonus and had the sun all day. The village of Grosmont is really nice with the steam trains, a nice local pub and loads of local walks Cheap train fares to/ from Whitby meant we had a good Friday night out there without the car!

Thank you so much for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and got the good weather. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards. Property Owner

GROSMONT

Whitby 5 miles.

The pretty village of Grosmont sits at the junction of the River Esk and Murk Esk in the midst of striking North Yorkshire Moors scenery. The area is characterised by its narrow roads, steep hills and scenic views over valleys of patchwork fields and wide-open expanses of moorland. Grosmont itself lies in the ‘Heartbeat Country’ and is famous for being the home of the North York Moors Steam Railway. The Railway has been preserved and run by enthusiasts since 1973 and today carries upwards of 300,000 passengers a year. The village has a general store, post office, book shop, art gallery, cafes and a pub. It makes a great base for exploring the many pretty farming villages along the Esk Valley and the wider North York Moors National Park, as well as the North Yorkshire Coastline with characterful harbour towns and villages.
