  • "This cottage is even better than the photos, we had high expectations based on other reviews and the info on the website, our expectations were surpassed."

The cottage is spotless, spacious, comfortable and the lovely owners have thought of everything. This place is also incredibly environmentally friendly. I can't recommend this place enough, I truly can't think of any improvements they could make to improve it. Thank you Carol and family, the 4 of us and our 2 dogs loved our stay.

Barn conversion done to a really high standard, very spacious and relaxing. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

  • "The barn is immaculate- how do they manage this in a rental?"

! The location is perfect, quiet and serene but close to towns and cities and the welcome Trayvon goodies was luxurious. We visited in 2021 and came back this year- likely to return in 2023. Faultless!

Nice location, only niggles were the track leading down to the property, and maybe put a sign up at the end of the track as it splits off.

  • "A beautifully presented cottage in a lovely location."

We were made to feel very welcome and the cottage had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, which was ideal for us as we like to cook lots! The best holiday cottage we have stayed in!

  • "Absolutely perfect stay, incredibly clean, spacious and well thought out."

Beautiful welcome pack, all the kitchen utensils you could want and have even thought of a pen for dogs just outside the door so you can let them out and they have a secure area. We will return. Just exactly how a place should be in everyway.

A wonderful welcome pack, warm, cosy cottage with everything you could wish for. We visited The Castle Inn pub which is nearby and would recommend that too. Lots to do nearby with wonderful markets, scenery and Harrogate a short drive away. We'll be back again soon Thank you!

This is a extra cost of 89 pounds. So I am disappointed Some levelling of the road should be helpful . Please inform the owners

We were welcomed by the host who is very friendly and approachable. After a long journey it was a delight to find a special generous hamper with lots of 'goodies'. The bed and linen were very comfortable. We couldn't ask for more, everything we needed was there in the Cottage. We'll definitely be back.

  • "Really comfortable and thoughtful restoration of old farm buildings to create three cottages."

Impressive views and peaceful surroundings although situated on a working farm. Extremely comfortable beds, large bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms. Very well equipped kitchen - we wanted for nothing. Good wi-fi. Fantastic welcome pack with superb products from Betty's of Harrogate. All in all an excellent experience in terms of accommodation. The only downside for us, as non dog owners, was the fact that the people in both the other cottages each had two dogs and we were assaulted by a cacophany of very loud barking every time we went in and out of the cottage. The dogs were not always kept on leads and invaded our section of the garden and left their mess which was not always cleared up by their owners. Had it been summer I would not have felt comfortable using the garden and I definitely would not recommend this property to anyone who does not like dogs.

  • "We have just returned from a wonderful week at Miller’s Wheel and other family members stayed next door in Shepherd’s Crook."

We were overwhelmed with the standard of the cottages; they were furnished beautifully, everything was immaculate and they had catered for every need. It really was a home away from home! The host, Carol, went out of her way to make us feel welcome and we were especially grateful for such a generous welcome pack. The area itself is lovely with plenty to do. We would most definitely recommend this holiday rental and would love to visit again. Thank you to the Woodward family.

High quality furnishings and fittings made it all that but more luxurious. The welcome pack with Betty’s goodies was a special treat! Close to Harrogate and great for exploring further afield too (we visited York, Knaresborough, Birds of Prey Centre and had some walks in the Dales too). Hosts very welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

  • "An outstanding stay in a beautiful barn conversion on a working farm."

This is definitely the best sykes cottage we have stayed in. We arrived shortly after the arrival time and met and welcomed by Carol the owner, who fetched us some extra blankets for our baby. We were very surprised to have a lovely hamper waiting for us filled with many items from Bettys Tearooms aswell as fresh eggs, and the fridge having butter, milk and orange juice. It had everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. It was a lovely touch that a new looking, solid cot was provided, which we had struggled to find elsewhere (and seeing this in the images before we booked). The decor was minimalist, but still stylish (ideal for a 15 month old and keeping breakables out of reach). Its clear Carol the family put alot of passion and time into the cottages as since making our booking and arriving, they had electric car chargers installed and Carol was very keen to hear our feedback when we were packing the car on the morning of our departure. Bravo and we hope to return in the near future!

From the exceptional welcome pack, the welcome itself and the very highest quality accommodation abd facilities imaginable. This is how it should be done and serves as a fine example to everybody else in the self catering business. Top marks and more power to their arm. They deserve to succeed and we are sure that they will.
