    "Loved our weekend away here!"

Although we had booked West Cottage on arrival we were offered the choice of this one or East Cottage as it was also vacant for our stay. Both cottages are lovely but we opted for East as it has direct access to the swimming pool which our lads enjoyed! Really nice welcome that we were offered to look at both cottages and we also had a lovely cake, bread and milk waiting for us. The swimming pool and grass area for the dogs makes it extra special. It was a last minute booking so all a bit of a rush for us, but really glad we booked it and would definitely return again.

    "Lovely, peaceful stay."

Great central location for stuff we wanted to do. Pool was fantastic. Lovely loaf of bread and milk to welcome us and a spectacular locally made chocolate cake. My 7yo son said it was perfect and didn't want to leave.

    "Lovely accommodation,swimming pool and grounds."

The owners were lovely and quick to respond to any queries we had,the only thing it could possibly benefit from was an outside light that could stay on as it was very dark on a night if you were out, this didn't alter our holiday we just used a torch.

"We loved our stay at Hartswood farm!"

I was quite skeptic to book the place as there were not many reviews published and none recently, but the place was lovely! Exactly as pictured and described, and we were welcomed with fresh eggs, milk and cake which was very sweet and generous. The pool was a beautiful and relaxing addition, and the goats also deserve a shout out. The hosts were responsive to any queries and we tried 2 pubs in the area that were recommended in the handbook and they were lovely and both dog friendly. Our only criticisms and things to note is that the stairs up to the apartment can get quite tiring after a while, especially for our elderly dog and they can be quite slippery in the rain so probably not best for anyone with mobility issues, but they are well advertised in the property listing so this is merely just an observation! The TV is rather old and quite grainy, and the remote was terribly temperamental so an update would be beneficial but the dvd player and selection of movies available to borrow downstairs is a lovely touch. Sofas were also a bit hard and positioned a little strange for the TV so were quite uncomfortable. Bedding was also quite large for the quilts which was a little irritating as they were either tucked under the mattress or super long and hitting the floor. Finally, and this may just be me, but I did find the bedrooms rather eerie, especially the twin room with the large alcove space to the right side of the beds. Perhaps a lighter, brighter colour may improve the atmosphere of those two rooms. Overall though, our stay was lovely, relaxing, clean and dog friendly and we would happily come back. We’ve already recommended the place to our friends and family

"Thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at West cottage!"

The whole family have had a brilliant time! The welcoming touches were lovely. The cottage is perfectly located we managed to go on days out each day with ease. Having access to the pool was an added bonus and as a family we enjoyed using this facility each day of our stay! We will definitely be back! Thank you.

"The property is exactly as described."

Spotlessly clean, with comfy, warm beds, comfortable seating and a practical kitchen. Heating worked well the odd time we needed a bit of warmth (bathroom first thing). The swimming pool is lovely, goats and chickens friendly. We went out most days - this location is ideal for heading in all directions from York to North York Moors to Scarborough.

"A late booking attracted by the large indoor swimming pool."

Site had recently changed hands and new owners plan to refurbish. We accepted the fact that the accommodation was rather tired. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only let down was the bathroom, bath with hand shower attachment and toilet cistern took ages to refill. The owners very friendly and called in plumber. Excellent situation for seeing both coast and country.

Rillington is a small village and civil parish located on the A64 road in North Yorkshire, with easy links to the historical city of York and the bustling coastal town of Scarborough. Rillington was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Survey and is now home to a Post Office, two pubs, The Coach and Horses and The Fleece, and a church. Nearby attractions include the Scampton Walled Garden, a contemporary garden open for visitors throughout the year, and the Wolds Way Lavender, a lavender farm and visitor centre. Further afield into the city of York, you can discover the incredible York Minster and grand city walls.
