  • "Really enjoyed our stay at The Green."

The owners attention to detail was apparent, every effort was made to ensure we had a comfortable holiday experience, we were not disappointed in any way and look forward to re-visiting some time in the future. We would highly recommend this property to others wanting to stay in a beautiful cottage in an idyllic village setting.

  • "The Green is a beautiful detached, stone Country house."

It is very tastefully decorated throughout. A well equipped kitchen, beautiful linen and comfy beds. A downstairs cloakroom and a beautiful dining table and a log burner, everything is provided for the perfect stay. The house was decorated for Christmas and was magical.

  • "We loved the cottage."

It was warm and welcoming and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The only criticism any of us could think of is the pathway access was muddy and conscious of walking mud in. Could do with some gravel or similar. We have already booked our return visit as it is fabulous overall.

  • "The welcome pack was a disappointment, basic tea coffee biscuits and milk, In my experience a bottle of wine, bread and fruit and cereals are included in other sites I've visited, this spoilt my first impressions."

Also cobwebs in evidence and behind the double bed was quite grubby. Also what about providing some shower gel Overall tho. The cottage was a lovely place to stay in a great location

thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you did not enjoy the welcome pack, regarding the wine, bread, cereals and shower gel these are not provided due to allergies and personal preferences of taste and is a simple gesture to welcome guests on arrival. The property receives high cleanliness scoring, however is an old character cottage and the cobwebs will be addressed. We are glad you still enjoyed your stay at the property. Property Owner

  • "The Green was very comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped."

There was space in the kitchen cupboards for our food (it is surprising how often there isn't in a rental property), and the fridge/freezer in the utility was a bonus to the fridge in the kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. In very hot weather, the thick walls of the house kept it beautifully cool. The back garden was a lovely spot for a coffee. Sheep can be right outside the front door, so if you have dogs best they are on a lead as you go out. Off lead dogs walks are about 2 miles away in forest at Cropton Cabins. All credit to the Owner and Sykes for keeping prices similar to those originally booked for this roll-over holiday.

  • "Beautiful cottage, perfect for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors."

Cottage comfortable, parking can be a pain when you get back after a day out as visitors to the pub park outside the green. You end up parked else where in the village. It wasn’t a big deal. The pub is next door, great food well priced and very friendly landlord, very accommodating.

  • "Beautiful cottage in wonderful location."

Excellent pub next door and walks across the Moors from the doorstep. All the facilities are there, although it is a bit 'tired' inside and could do with a lick of paint. Very dog friendly.

Thank you for your feedback, the property dates back to the 1800's and we work tirelessly to keep it in order. The property was only re decorated last year and is regularly maintained. Property Owner

  • "We had stayed at this house earlier this year so new it well."

The owners ordered in for us a months supply of logs as we were staying that length of time. the housekeeper came in every Friday so after a day out the cottage was clean fire laid bed linen changed . the house was dressed for Christmas and we were given a lovely Christmas present and one for our dog too. The best house we've ever stayed in and the countryside is outstanding. Christmas markets and carol singers. Couldn't ask for more.

...or can't be safely opened. With the very high temperatures it made sleeping uncomfortable. Obviously wouldn't normally be a problem !!!

Thank you so much for feedback, the windows are original sash windows, you unlock the latch and then lift the window up. We have not had any previous issues at all with them. Glad to hear you had great weather. Property Owner
