    Absolutely immaculate, with everything inside you need for a lovely stay. The pub up the road is dog friendly and does great food to eat in or takeaway. 15 min bus ride into Scarborough makes this cottage in an ideal location. would definitely come back.

  • "I didn't want to mark the cottage down for this because it's not an issue for most people, but the cottage had very strong fabric conditioner and air freshener scents."

    I'm someone who struggles with strong scents (mild allergic reaction), so this was a little tough to handle. BUT everything else about the cottage is as described/brilliant. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen, the cooker, fridge, freezer, implements and cookware etc. is really good and you could make most things in there! Location is brilliant. Village is nice. Instructions are clear, and easy to follow. Just if you're allergic to strong scents then you might want to ask in advance for an unscented washing powder and air fresheners to be removed.

    The cottage was immaculate. The locals were friendly and with a pub within minutes, which served good food and was dog friendly, we couldn't have asked for more. We would definitely return if in the area. PERFECT.

  • "Wensbeck cottage is stunning inside and out the furnishings and decor are to a very high standard the welcome pack it's a very nice touch and much appreciated along with the abundance of tea coffee and sugar the cottage smelt amazing along with the bedding everything in the cottage was well thought out and the fact that you had two gardens with a summer house is just amazing the villages beautiful and the residence are very friendly I would have booked another stay straight away but as I suspected it's already fully booked but I will definitely be booking for next year."

  • "A beautiful pet friendly cottage."

    The enclosed garden and the lovely woodland summer house and seating area by the stream are just a joy. The weather was glorious so we only left to go get supplies- although there’s much to see and do within short rides away. The attention to detail makes all the difference here - provision of cool bags and flasks to use if you’re going out for the day, O.S. Maps of the area, a lovely welcome hamper which was a lovely surprise, coffee machine and fully equipped kitchen, and lovely comfy garden furniture. One point to just be aware of is the beams in the living room - I’m 6ft 1 and I had probably 5 cm clearance before I’d have been bumping my head.

  • "Loved our holiday the cottage was very clean and comfortable, right by a river stream and a quick 5 mins walk or less to the pub."

    The heating was great and tv was ok. The range was new to us, being in our 80,s was not great on technology so found this a little challenging perhaps the instructions would have been great but we managed to look it up on the internet. The garden was split in two the back garden with its lovely magnolia trees plus an extra garden over the road with its summer house and garden overlooking the river/stream, this was a bonus to us. Thankyou Gary for a lovely stay and hope to be able to stay with you next year Pat and Ian Cameron

    It was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The log burner was a lovely touch with it being so cold with plenty of logs provided. Great location being only a 15 mins from Scarborough and Filey. We would absolutely love to stay again☺️

Scarborough 6 miles; Whitby 25 miles.

Resting on the edge of the breath-taking North York Moors National Park, is the small village of West Ayton. Visitors of the village will be charmed by the 14th-century castle, situated to the east of the village, along with a community centre, a surgery, a pub and a number of local businesses. Its twin village, East Ayton perches on the opposite side of the River Derwent, where you will find a larger selection of amenities. Situated on the edge of the National Park, this little village plays host to miles of walks to be enjoyed.
