  • "The cottage was easy to find and had good parking."

On first arrival we were impressed by the cleanliness and the overall look. There was everything you needed and the cottage was warm and cosy. The television in the lounge has an intermittent fault where it turns off and you only have sound. The bedroom whilst it was a good size the bed is very low down and could be a problem for those less agile. The mattress however was very soft and uncomfortable it needs replacing urgently. The bathroom again is clean and the towels are very good however the water pressure on the shower is very low and makes it difficult to have a proper shower we had a issue with the shower head holder which was broke although we did report this. There is a summer house in the garden with lights and a sound system however there was a short in the system so it didn’t work. These are simple things and easily resolved . Overall we had a good stay and if these issues were resolved particularly the mattress issue then we would consider returning.

  • "Lovely property to stay in but could really have benefited from more light in the living room as it was impossible to read in the evening as it was too dark."

  • "My stay at Midsummer Cottage was let down by the facilities."

The cottage itself is delightful and is perfect for exploring the area, also the garden is safe for anyone wishing to take their dog along. Unfortunately the tv signal is very intermittent so you cannot watch stream programmes properly. The bulb in the bathroom didn’t work not a big deal but should have been checked. Also with no bedside lamps the idea of a remote control to switch off the lights when in bed is a great idea except the remote control did not work probably needing a new battery again something that should have been checked. We had a couple of friends over for a meal who lived nearby but had to ask them to bring their own cutlery and wine glasses. The table sat 4 people comfortably but with only 3 wine glasses and cutlery missing we could not set the table for four people. All of these things are easy fixes but are frustrating for the visitors. I suggest the owner stays in the cottage for a week and then would understand visitors frustration.

  • "It was clean & spacious."

Gardens a little over run at the rear. The bed was far too low, especially as I have Arthritis, difficult to get in and out. It wasn’t as welcoming as some of the Sykes cottages we have been in over the years we have had our little dog

  • "We were very surprised that the cottage was part of a camping/caravan site."

We only discovered this a couple of weeks before departure when we got to the cottage. We were disappointed that the summer house electricity wasn’t working so we didn’t sit out at night. There were no recycling bins. The cottage was clean and fairly well equipped.

  • "A lovely well appointed cottage ,excellent facilities."

Fully enclosed garden brilliant for our dog Alfie. Our second visit to this cottage and I am sure it won't be the last. The only thing that needs addressing is the bed.although comfortable is very low.and the mattress fits within the frame. Both myself and my partner caught our shins on the corner bringing blood. It is situated in a very nice area and we will return.
